My 5 year old son first went to a birthday party at the Shea location and, even though he is not a big sports buff, had a blast. The party included a parent vs kids dodge ball game(very soft balls) that he still talks about. I have since signed him up for the soccer/baseball 8 week session and he loves it just as much. The coach engages each of the kids at their skill level and has a wide variety of exercises for them to do. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I’ve been wanting to write this for a while. I held off at first because we were thinking about issuing a charge-back with our credit card company– which they would have obliged– after probably a lengthy process, but at the time this happened, we had just moved here and were so busy with about a million other things, that we decided to just leave it– it wasn’t worth the drawn out negative energy that would have ensued. So after just moving here last summer, we were looking for something to occupy out three year old with. I signed her up for a two week camp. At the time I signed her up, there was zero disclaimer(at least verbally– once all was said and done, upon reviewing the very small print, it said no refunds) of their, apparently very firm, ‘no refund’ policy. Nor was there a disclaimer that they offer a FREE trial session. I mean, who wouldn’t do a free trial session if they knew it was available? Especially considering that they knew we were new customers. So I sign her up for a two week camp, and upon picking her up from her first day, she immediately starts bawling once we walk out the door, saying she never wants to go back. And this is a very gregarious little girl, who has already completed a year of preschool(and never once cried with me dropping her off there), makes friends everywhere she goes, and is quite independent. So, I call ‘The Coach’ to verbalize this and ask for a refund. Which is when I’m informed of their ‘no refund’ policy. Finally, he decided to offer me that ‘free trial’ for another class, and then apply the amount I’ve already paid to the potential new class. Ummm… try explaining that to a three year old who’s already decided she hates it there and is never going back. Being in a different room/class is hardly going to resolve the problem. So after numerous letters back and forth, ‘The Coach’ decided it’s worth more to keep the 200 bucks then it was to maintain a good business reputation. I hope the $ 200 is worth it. Because we had numerous friends since then look into camps with our daughter and this particular experience has always come up in the conversation. The one take-away I learned from this was to ALWAYS ask if there are free trial classes before committing, which unfortunately is a useless lesson because everywhere I’ve gone since has offered that on their own merit– because they employ sound business practices.

Both my son and daughter have been going there on and off for classes, camps, and parent night outs from the age of 3 until 7. My son just went to the summer camp for a week and had a blast. He did not know anyone before the camp, but had no problems as the coaches do a great job of making it all fun for the group. They do many different sports and games teaching the fundamentals needed for sports as they get older. Mitch and his staff are very professional. In addition, Mitch takes safety/security very seriously and keep the facility secure and monitors the pick ups closely to make sure you or the people on your pick up list are the only people allowed to pick up. My kids are safe and have so much fun. Would recommend this to anyone I know.

My son is on his second session and we’ve been thrilled with the results. All of the coaches at multiple locations have been wonderful, attentive and engaging with the kids and the curriculum is great. We’ve also done Parents Night Out which is a great value and super fun for the kids.

I have been wanting to write this review for awhile. We had enrolled our kiddo in a few of their classes throughout the last few years. About a year and a half ago we found a multi sport class in the Arcadia area that we liked. The coach was very nice and we enjoyed it. So, we enrolled our son in the next class. Unfortunately, a whole group of kids that all knew each other enrolled in that class and I take it they were regular customers. My son was given no attention by the students or the coach and we pulled him after the second class. I do not think that it was fair to have the whole class know each other and be ‘good customers’ while my son was all by himself. The coach seemed to give preferential treatment to the other kids and it was frustrating. I complained and asked to enroll him in the class at another time. We were all set to start the next class and without warning a couple of days before I received a voice mail telling us that the class had been canceled and thank you very much. Well, our money went to waste, we were never offered another makeup session or anything because it is their policy to not offer refunds. It seems like the business has gone downhill in my opinion and I would not recommend it.

I have a very active 20 month old who doesn’t get tired before 9:30 every night, so my husband and I are always finding ways to expend that energy. We recently enrolled him in Soccer Tots at the City North location and we love it! Some may think that teaching a child that young a sport is crazy, but I was surprised myself at how quickly he and the other kids were picking up some of the basics. The instructor incorporates other items such as balloons and noodles to learn control. There is also a fun obstacle course at the end of class where the kids can run through hoops and jump and kick a soccer ball through the net. The class consists of parent involvment, too, so it is a great way to spend time with your child. I’m so glad we found an activity like this! He even goes to bed early on Tuesdays now!
