Absolutely fabulous dinner. The edamame had an amazing soy sauce dressing and had red bell peppers too. I had the vegetarian platter; full of an amazing assortment of roasted veggies! Kris, our server was knowledgeable and helpful. Eddie is the best and I can’t recommend this place enough.

Upon arrival, the hostess could not immediately find our reservation. Once she did, she seated us at a table for four near the open door. As it was winter and somewhat chilly, we requested another table further back away from the draft. We were informed that it was either that table or we could sit outside. A few minutes later, a party of three came in and she first took them to a table for two(?). Upon seeing her mistake, she immediately seated them at a table for four further away from the door which had obviously been available when we arrived. I doubt seriously that they had requested that specific table. Ok. We ordered a bottle of pinot noir and the bottle that was brought out was pinot from the same winery listed but not the exact one on the wine list which was a higher end version. We told our waiter and he was never clear on the difference given that both wines were pinot from the same winery. We asked to talk to the person who orders the wine and she never showed up to talk to us even after the waiter had asked her twice. I agree with other reviewers that the menu is somewhat more varied and interesting than most. The lobster bisque was very good and the East meets West was OK(the tuna was excellent but the halibut was on the dry side. The other dishes at our table ranged from good to OK. Much later in the evening Eddie(who had apparently been informed earlier by our waiter of the mismatch between their wine list and what is actually served) came over to talk to us he had already called the distributor(who prints their wine list according to him) but had gotten no response. He insisted that we were charged appropriately for the wine served(not a bargain but I understand restaurant markups) and said if we had gotten the proper wine on the list we would have been charged even more. He also said it was the distributor’s fault for the erroneous wine list. I am used to chef/owners taking responsibility for any mistakes, but this did not happen as Eddie was content to blame others. However entertaining he is when at your table, I prefer that the owner take responsibility for everything in the restaurant.

Needed dinner reservations NYE and Eddies had a spot open. I wasn’t expecting to love it after reading some of the poor reviews. Yet we did love it! For me it had the trifecta: excellent food, good service and a great ambiance. Food first… We shared the Lobster Bisque and as the guy from Maine said, who recommended it, it was«legit». Perfect bisque. My husband had what he described as a «perfectly cooked for once» filet and I had melt in the mouth sea bass. The service was personable and just attentive enough. The room is warm and modern at the same time. I’m tired of restaurants you can’t hear in because of hard surface modern décor. But my favorite thing was watching the owner serve food, bus tables, chat with customers and actually WORK in his place. We plan on being regulars!

Amazing Personalized service and really original and distinctly and wonderfully flavored food. The waiter was gregarious and Eddie took his personal time and creativity to ensure that one of our son’s who has severe food allergies was treated to an amazing meal that was safe and tasty. We had called ahead and everyone was informed and prepared. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we will definitely return.

Not good at all. Wine sat out. Tasted like vinegar. Food if you want to call it that tasted microwaved. I cook better than this and I’m a horrible cook. Nice staff is the only plus.

Eddie catered a Christmas party this past weekend. His staff was amazing, very professional, clean an went above and beyond. The food was exceptional. I would highly recommend have Eddie cater your event. Everything went above my expectation.

I don’t know how to exactly describe the food but I guess it has a Mediterranean flavor with some spice. I have been here numerous times. If you can snag a spot at the bar that is where to sit. Happy hour all night and great bartenders. Came here on a Saturday night. I started with the edamame. They were finger licking good. The bartender saw me trying to figure out how I could drink the rest of the spicy juice so he brought me a spoon. No way was I going to let them take away the bowl. I asked for some bread to dip it in. Awesome. I ordered the Chilean sea bass which was a special. It melted in my mouth and the broccoli was cooked to perfection for me(a little on the crunchy side). I ended my meal with a Russian standard vodka martini. You need to give it a try. Smooth and way better than tito’s or ketel one. The happy hour menu is the way to go. Next time I am trying the chicken drummies. They looked great.

Eddies House is a delightful eatery. It was a nice Friday night, not crowded, and dining al Fresca was a pleasure. The Bacon Stuffed meatloaf was delicious, the crab meatball appetizer started dinner off right. Staff can be scatter-brained, but make up for it in kindness, thoughtfulness and admiring to mistakes — how refreshing.

Came to Eddies House for the Allison Dubois book signing and stayed for dinner. The book signing was a hit and not anything like I had imagined. Allison was great and more lovely in person. Can’t wait to read her new book! The restaurant on the other hand was NOT a success! We had reservations for 2 and were seated on the patio. This is not my regular kind of dining experience so I was looking to be wowed! First thing were the chairs that were extremely uncomfortable! For as much as they charge for food they should invest in more comfortable seating arrangements! Then it took FOREVER to just get drinks. I was interested in trying the bacon infused meatloaf and lobster bisque. The waiter raved about them. The lobster bisque was REALLY good but the bacon infused meatloaf was TERRIBLE!!! The meatloaf was dry and so were the mashed potatoes. The sauce that came on the meatloaf tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen all day! On bite 3 of my food(even thought it was terrible I wasn’t going spend $ 22 on food and not try it) I found a small piece of plastic!!! At that point I stopped eating!!! I was going to tell the waiter BUTHEWASNEVERAROUND!!! The check couldn’t come fast enough! Which it didnt!!! We waited and waited and waited! You would think for such a special occasion at this restaurant that they would be on top of their game!!! Such a disappointing ending to a wonderful beginning of our evening!!!

Had a lovely evening at Eddie’s House last night. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the host and chef Eddie was there too. My friend is a fan of his and talked to him for a little bit and he introduced himself to us too and wished us a great night at the restaurant. The interior is lush, warm, and a bit eclectic, with large stuffed trophy fish on the walls, a large fish pillow on the side couch, and kokopelli figurines decorating the shelves. Our table was large with comfortable seating. We browsed through the menu. Feeling in a red meat type of mood, I decided on the restaurant week special with steak tartare, lamb with fattoush and hummus, and lava dessert($ 33). I also tried some bacon infused meatloaf, brown butter shrimp, and pumpkin cheesecake. The steak tartare was excellent. The flavor it was infused with actually made me think I was eating tuna instead of steak. The crisp cucumber it was perched on made a nice contrast to the soft texture of the meat. The lamb was decent, and the hummus was good(Although more pita triangles to go with the amount of hummus I had would’ve been nice). The fattoush salad tasted like it had been sitting in the dressing for slightly too long. Unfortunately, the whole shrimp I tried wasn’t cleaned well as I could taste a lot of grit when I chewed, distracting from the rest of the dish. The bacon infused meatloaf was the real star of the show. It was heavenly. Moist, with a perfect mix of spices, with smoky bacon flavor in each bite. I will definitely be ordering this next time! The pumpkin cheesecake was packed with pumpkin spice flavor, with a light whipped texture. the pepita brittle was delicious. The lava dessert was actually touted as a «warm Boston ‘LAVA’ banana chocolate cream pie» but it looked like a chocolate lava cake with sliced bananas on the bottom. I didn’t really see anything pie-like about it? I also didn’t taste or see much Boston cream pie in it. There also wasn’t any lava center in the dessert. The chocolate flavor was good though. Service was impeccable. Our server was warm, humorous, and very attentive to our table. Overall I’ll definitely come here again for the warm friendly service, the lovely atmosphere, and that lovely bacon infused meatloaf!

wow, what a delectable meal. this was a surprise birthday dinner from the wife and it did not disappoint. i’m not accustomed to actually sitting and waiting, enjoying a nice meal, so the speed of our waitstaff threw me off a bit, however, i realize it’s in the whole scheme of things. our waiter was always around when we least expected it, but he never hovered or was overbearing. they offer an all night happy hour, with nearly half off several of their app’s. we started with the tuna tartar and it was delicious, not a single chewy bit, but it all just melted in your mouth. the AZ corn chips were a nice touch away from the standard nacho chips. i had the ahi tuna and Parmesan halibut dish, with asparagus risotto. both pieces of fish were absolutely divine, each with it’s own unique flavor and texture. the ahi, of course, seared, buttery, soft, clean… the halibut, light, crisp, savory, rich. we topped it off with a recommendation from the table next to us, the cookie dough tiramasu… not a traditional tiramasu, but who cares! it was decadent and enough for 2 people to share and not feel guilty. this is on the higher end spectrum of price point, so for couples like us, only for special occasions. however… we chatted up a couple next to us whom eat here 3 days a week! yowsers!

When you enter Eddie’s House it’s a little different atmosphere than from most other restaurants. It’s more like your walking into Eddie’s real house because of all the personalized knick knacks and family photos. You will also see a lot of fishing items and notice Eddie is a fisherman. The fishing gear is also reflects on the many fresh fish items on the menu. Chef Eddie also participates in many local charity events. In the metro Phoenix area Eddie has known as a celebrity chef and has made a lot of appearances on local TV. Eddie now might be considered a celebrity chef everywhere because he recently won an award from FoodNetwork’s TV Show Triple G– Guy’s Grocery Games and made his signature dish bacon infused meatloaf. I’ve been here a bunch of times over the years and always enjoy Eddie’s complimentary blue cheese butter, fresh herb pistou sauce with the bread. It’s so delicious and it’s so hard to stop eating. It’s a nice treat. We started with the grilled honey spiced chicken lollipops. They plump juicy nicely and seasoned well. The legs were cleaned up real nice so they were easy to eat. They were delicious anyone would like them. I ordered the half portion of a signature dish called, «what’s in this steak». It’s a juicy nicely cooked tenderloin in the center of a big ball of yummy mashed potatoes with a crispy cheesy crust. My tenderloin was prepared perfect and was tasty. The potatoes were yummy. It’s something different. My husband had the bacon infused meatloaf. It was topped with crisp onion straws and was served with mashed potatoes. It was tasty after all it’s an OFFICIAL Food Network Winning Dish! It don’t always like desserts out but did try the cheesecake after questioning the waitress about it a bit. It turns out the white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was really good. We both enjoyed it and my husband usually hates cheesecake but even he liked it. Eddie’s House participates in Local Dines where you can save a bunch if you use it. After I dined here I got an email from Eddies House that the menu will be updated soon. I’m looking forward to salmon tartar, mustard and GHOST Chili pickles and Wild Salmon with shititso relish and peach quiona. New lobster dishes will also be on the menu.

A few simple words to get this review started… happy hour everyday, every evening. Can it get much better than that? I tried their flatbread which changes daily as it’s the chef’s choice and I got lucky and happened to be there on a day when it was BBQ chicken… the BBQ sauce was tangy and delicious. I also tried their crispy honey chicken wings. The name does not fail the dish as they have a nice crispy skin and tender chicken underneath. The flavors are bold and savory. They have some great local beers and a nice beer selection. Their cocktails all looked yummy too! I will definitely head back to try out more of their items.

Stopped by Eddie’s House for Restaurant Week, which we love to take part in! Got a delicious 3 course meal(prie fix). I got the grilled shrimp, which had an Asian tasting salsa which reminded me of kimchee, it was nice. My niece got the lamb street tacos, which were very tasty! For the main course, I got the Kalbi short rib, which was served or a smoked salmon cake. Very nice twist on a traditional flavor that I’m used to, being from Hawaii. For dessert, the meal was sealed with a freshly made Peach Cheesecake, which was incredible! Definitely a restaurant worth visiting if you’d like to experience some creative, out of the box food. My only complaint would be that the waitress was almost non-existent throughout the meal. They could probably benefit by adding another server or two to the staff.

Love this place. I go here fairly regularly and have yet to have a bad experience. Lamb chops are fantastic and the flatbreads are always a go to for me. The best way to do it is to sit in the bar area where happy hour goes all night and it’s half off small plates. I usually get a bunch of things and share them around. You can easily get four or five plates for a group. Best thing on the regular menu is the WHATS in this steak. Can’t miss! And if you have a chance to say hi to Eddy, do it. He’s an awesome chef and an incredibly friendly guy.

I still cannot say enough about this place. It’s one of the best restaurants in Old Town with by far the best happy hour. Tonight we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Eddie after our wonderful meal. He was so polite and kind! After a bit of conversation, he got all four of our names and promised to say hello next time we were in. Beyond meeting the chef, the food was awesome(as usual). We took another couple there, since it’s one of our favorite gems. The happy hour menu included a BLT pesto flatbread that was so fresh and flavorful! As usual, we opted to have the chicken lollipops, lamb and shrimp. The quality and taste is fantastic and consistent — we never have to wonder if Eddie’s will live up to the high expectations we have for the place. It’s so nice to see an owner who is invested in both his establishment and the community! Sit in the bar, go after 7, and prepare to try 3 – 4 amazing dishes!
