Giligins

Service is horrible and I will never go back! This place is horrible and needs a complete scrub down. Over priced and even with the tv reviews, not even close to what u would expect! Food network was was just a lie! How much did the bar have to pay for such horrid service to be put on a national network!!! Don’t put it on tv if your not going to uphold the kind of entertainment. I wouldn’t even bring anyone here especially for food let alone anyone that has any taste.

I have no idea how to rate this experience, because it was… an experience?
A brief list of things that you will find at Giligins:
— a very, very aggressive train ride
— a very convincing electric chair that makes very convincing noises
— a pole.
— a table upon which you can play flip cup. no one will even think about stopping you.
— plenty of places to hide, should your boss decide to use the restroom and your group decide to hide from him
— fun??? i think???

They had giant jenga and a giant connect four as well as a table set up for beer pong. To me this beats your average dive bar. Service was inattentive though. So be aggressive when you want something!

Fun dive bar with great atmosphere when you’re completely wasted. But I went to watch a packers game because it’s advertised as a packers bar. We had to ask them to change the channel to our game and ask repeatedly for them to turn down the music so we could actually hear the game. Their solution was to turn the volume up on that one tv, with music still blaring all around us. Luckily, they figured it out once the game started. Then after about one quarter into the game, the sound was changed over to a baseball game. Our server was not friendly in the least and even blatantly avoided our table. There were about 10 people in the bar and we were the only ones who ordered food, yet it still took about 30 minutes to get our nachos. And they were the absolute worst nachos I’ve ever had. Now I know why I’ve never been here sober.

Great place to start a night out in Old Town Scottsdale. Reasonable beer prices, drinking games, and Jello shots.
I personally love the cheeky attitude of this place. From the birthday drink served in a toilet plunger to the ‘mini bar’ tended by and built specificity to size for Chewy the Rock and Roll Midget.
They also host relaxed and free block parties for drinking holidays like Halloween and St Patrick’s Day.
If you want a relaxed place in Old Town, check this place out.

I wish I could give this place no stars. The minute me and my friends walked in. We got treated like dirt. The bartender was all pissed off and acted like she didn’t have time for us. I work in the Industry and I know how it is to have a bad night and have to deal with drunk people. But this women just completely wore all her feelings and anger on her sleeve which affected our night. We even asked her what was going on and it almost felt like she stuck her middle finger at us and said don’t worry about it. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life. I will never be going back. I’m sorry I didn’t tip your bartender because I always tip 20% percent but she didn’t deserve it. I didn’t deserve her time, she didn’t deserve a tip from me.

I bought an annual Entertainment Coupon book for $ 35. This book has discount coupons for several merchants who chose to participate and promote their business.
Giligin’s has a coupon in there for Buy one Lunch /​get one Free.
Valid through 12/​30/​2015. I brought it in today to use with my girlfriend and the Manager refused to honor it, for no apparent reasson given.
This reflects bad on this place and makes the Entertainment Coupon book look bad too.
We used to go there often. We won’t be going again!

I LOVE Giligins! If you are in the mood for fun, neighborly, laugh-​a-​lot, silly, forget your stupid work persona, let it loose, meet some strangers, get felt up by a little person place, then you better get over go Giligins asap!

Giligan’s is a fun unpretentious bar. Chuey and Bret are awesome. Capt. Mike is always updating the décor and events. Food is awesome bar fare at great prices. Two middle fingers up!

Quirky, weird bar with interesting props and things to keep you entertained. I thought the Spin the Wheel thing was fun (3 shots for 7 dollars). It is very dive-​y and makes you feel kind of gross after you leave the place. Kind of an older crowd… don’t know if I would ever go out of my way to come back here.

When we arrived here I was charged $ 6 for a shot. Thought nothing of it and paid. Got to our table and everyone that was with us ordered shots and they were $ 3. I asked the waitress why I paid more. She didn’t know, so we asked the bartender. He said the shots were $ 6 at the bar and $ 3 if you ordered from a waitress. I find that ridiculous!!! You should charge the same price throughout the bar. I would have given the bar 5 stars but because of this it deserves 1 star.

This was my first time at Giligins. I went on a Friday night. The set-​up was pretty neat. It had games to play. But, why was it so dead on a Friday night?
The bathrooms were kind of gross. The bar was kind of dirty, too.
Nothing too special about Giligans in my first experience.

Completely perfect for adult irresponsibility. Chill vibe, no fuss just pure easy peasy shenanigans. Tons of games to entertain you from Spin the Wheel (get up to 3 free drinks for $ 7), life-​size Connect Four and Hangman. Drinks are cheap and people are friendly. If you don’t want to hit Debauchery Row, this is where the locals hide out.

Giligins is perfect. if it wasn’t for the insanely inflated prices. this place is very fun, and presents itself as a divey fun place, but the prices on everything doesn’t say dive, and it sure isn’t that fun.
I love the concept and the way they are putting it out there. I really do. The playfulness, the shot wheel, the swing, their fascination with little people. All in good fun — very amusing. But a dive that serves $ 10 drinks and $ 9 beers. Whaaat? That’s Scottsdale prices. Oh, we’re in Scottsdale? OK, but still. No. Uncool.
I will come back here. As a novelty. and I wish I could come back more often, but paying stripclub drink prices doesn’t compute. So it will remain a novelty. And I think that sucks. If the prices were friendlier, I would wholeheartedly recommend this place.

This joint gets a 3 star nod. The midgets… well they have their own bar located to the right when you enter. It’s kinda adorable (I said it, we dem feminine boyzz!)
First off, the midget thing is blown out of porportion. There’s like 2 tops and they’re just straight up cool people, no bozo the clown shizz.
Now I’d recommend watching out for the drunken frat boys who come to this spot… you know the ones who went to the wrong place to pick up chicks (Mill Ave or Oldtown Block are much better choices). These frat guys are all drunk on cheap beer and pissed off because they’re initiations were more homoerotic than fraternity like so now they def need to find woman but all they see is 2 little people. So what do they do? They have to be loud and heard from a block away, that way when girls walk by they can hear that the guys here are «really cool.» Which don’t worry ladies, it’s a no babe zone.
Plenty of drinking games to wet your Willy; Beer Pong, Flip Cup, The Wheel of Death (Drinking Wheel).
WARNING: All of these drinking games lead to bantering and nonsense jib jabbing by random dudes so watch out. This is what we call a pregame spot to the main event… which is to go to Oldtown Block and to go get some babes (8‘s or higher, guaranteed).

I’ve been to Giligan’s many times — and admittedly, some times are better than others. That said, they were my favorite place in the world Saturday night (before the Super Bowl).
While every bar in Old Town had a 30 person line and was charging at least a $ 50 cover (for guys, $ 20 for girls), Giligans was throwing down with a no-​cover block party, and a crowd that was, well… WAY less douchey than what we saw a few blocks away.
Don’t get me wrong, when I’m in the mood to rage, Old Town is great on a regular weekend… it was just a complete hell-​hole the weekend of the big game. (I know, I should have expected that that would be the case!) Since I’d left my 8 inch heels and miniskirt at home, we bailed on that ridiculous socialite scene to go to this awesome dive!
There was live music, a great crowd, lots of dancing, and (amazingly) DECENT SERVICE!!! We could actually GET a beer! (Something that would’ve been impossible a up the street, since I’m not handing out hundies to the lingerie’d moon balloons behind the bar.)
Our group had an awesome time hanging out inside, enjoying a few beers, and dancing our way through the crowd! It might be dead some weekends, but when you can get a good crowd in this place (particularly for their block parties), it’s a blast. I will always have a short, special place in my heart for them after this weekend — they made a frustrating night into a great one! Rock on, Giligan’s!

Definitely a bar for the younger, straight out of the college dorm, not safe to leave your drink unattended, head bartender offering free drinks for lifting up your shirt kind of place. Thumbs down. The place was full but the whole experience left much to be desired. They did have some cool games outside like giant Jenga and Connect 4. There was an electrical chair inside for funny photo ops.

Cool little dive bar in Old Town Scottsdale. The bartender, «Boston» was a excellant host and shared lots of great stories about Boston. Looking forward to going back during Arizona Bike Week and «Boston» promised to stock lots of Shiner Bock for visiting Texans! Put this place on your bucket list for Arizona Bike Week! Miller Genuine Draft on tap; when was the last time you found that!

I went during the day in the middle of the week and ate outside, was pretty slow so I was really surprised it took over 30min to get food. I got the fish and chips which I don’t really like fish that much but I like cod, catfish and salmon if it’s fried and fresh. The fish tasted… old, it was soft and blubbery. However I should say the best fish I’ve had has been from the bay in Cali. I’ve even had box fish that tasted better.
They were sweet and kind enough to give me chicken instead, but the chicken was soft and it tasted like they fried it in the fish oil, even the next day at home it tasted fishy, I wanted to like it, but I couldn’t.
Although I will add my friend thinks this place is the greatest, but he’s always drunk when he’s there, so there’s that.
