The only reason I am writing this review is because I genuinely want too help you with your decision too go too IMAj. I am working on my college degree but decided too go here too get my Aesthetics and laser license, because it has always been an interest of mine. I graduated in June of 2014. Sure, this school looks great online, and even when you go in for a tour and they feed you all this information that you soon find out is all lies. The IMAj Institute does not accept federal funding and therefore it is not federally accredited; You(the student) cannot claim tuition from a school that is not accredited. Yup, that means that the $ 20,000.00 tuition is NOT deductible on your federal taxes. No FAFSA and no help from the government… hmmm wonder why. You will enjoy the first two months with Alyssa, but after that… Good luck. The majority of your training for the last few months will consist of performing a ridiculous amount of 2 hour treatments that DON’T WORK! Your arms will hurt, you’ll burn clients and you won’t get tips. But don’t worry! If you don’t have time to finish the rest of your quotas, they’ll cut back on how many facials, peels, etc. you were suppose to do so that you can be in the sculptor room. No, Gary did not invent the sculptor so go ahead and listen too all of the bullshit, you will realize it all one day. Oh, and don’t run out of the product that YOU pay for, because you will have too go out on your own time and money and buy more. The staff is extremely unprofessional and so fake, have fun with Augistina in sculptor who picks favorites. Being in that room is torture. Would have rather assassinated myself. I was extremely embarrassed too bring my friends and family into this school. Between the incessant turn over in staff and the overall lack of professionalism, students would be well advised to seek their education elsewhere. IMAj was the absolute worst experience of my life, it was a complete 6 months of hell. I really don’t mean too be rude, I just wish someone had told me before I made the decision too go there.

I had the Sculptor service done on my thighs just above my knees and I am super happy with the results. I lost almost an inch on both legs. I would recommend this service.

ITS A SCHOOL. and a very good school. If you do not realize you are walking into a SCHOOL and getting services from STUDENTS then you need to check yourself. Go to a full price spa and complain about them, In my opinion this is a wonderful CLEAN well managed school, of young aestheticians, not cosmetology students, they dont do hair there. Anyone who is gonna go to a LEARNINGFACILITY and then complain about it, is just retarded. Its like going to Burger King and asking to see the wine list… For the price and the results this is very good. I have had a hair removal treatment, a vascular treatment, and a body sculpt done there, you can not beat the prices. For students.

This is a great place to try a new treatment without breaking your budget. I found a special on Groupon to make it even better. The students were nice(Becca & Dawn) and seemed to really know what they were doing. They were concerned with my comfort and acted professionally. They gave me all the pre– and post-treatment instructions, gave me all the time expected during treatment and nice results. It’s obviously a school with no glam, but definitely worth it.

Expensive. All procedures are performed by cosmetology students which is reflected in the quality of service. Not a good value at all. Kind of a rip off actually given the poor service you get. Wouldn’t come here again not would recommend to friends.

Very clean, great reception staff & great prices! I used a Groupon & am excited to use it for IPL treatments. Professional & affordable. Laser is not as high power as major Med Spa’s, but performed by students with instructor present.

I have done 3IPL treatments here and have noticed a remarkable difference in my skin. I got the Groupon rate because I did not want to pay $ 300 for one treatment elsewhere. I am very happy and cannot wait for their next Groupon to come out. I am defnitely a fan and will be coming back often. I have already set up another appointment and can’t wait to try their Sculptor services.

I’ve been going to Imaj for laser tattoo removal and I highly recommend this institute. I was somewhat nervous my first time for a few reasons. For one, I’ve heard the procedure itself is very painful. Second, I was going to have it done by students. But, I am very impressed with the service and results thus far! I’ve been 5 times so far and my tattoo has faded dramatically. The staff and students are very careful and made me feel comfortable the whole way through. I have friends that have had treatments at other facilities that are much more expensive and in comparison, I’m getting just as good of results. I can’t vouch for their other procedures, but if you are looking for a way to remove that unwanted tattoo on a budget, try Imaj!

I would also agree with the other reviewers. It is a school, and I am not crazy about the people that perform the services. You are better off spending a little bit more and going to another place for more agressive treatments. You should not expect to get the results on the website for the sculptor. I went there, and did not notice anything after one treatment. They said that you would notice more after several weeks, and I did not notice anything. I even took photos to compare, and nothing! It is definitely not worth the $ 250 per treatment that they charge. I also used to be a member, and canceled after 3 months. There was no point in going. Now I go to a regular med spa for more agressive treatments. The stuff that they used for my facial was cheap, clogged my pores, and made me break out. They also did not perform the extractions like they were supposed to. I also did opt for the sculpting procedure on my face before going out of town. I did not get any results at all, and they were supposed to spend about 90 minutes on my face, and only spent about 45. They did not spend the amount of time they were supposed to doing the treatment, and I did not see any results from any of the treatments that they gave me. You are honestly better off paying a little more for more aggressive treatments at a real medspa. The products they used were of poor quality, and made my skin even worse.

And you thought you had to fork over your life savings for corrective skincare and laser procedures, ha! Not at IMAj Institute in Scottsdale. Okay, it’s a school so there is some give and take on your part but you can get procedures like laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, skin tightening and peels at amazing prices. The«give» is that you have to put your fate and your face into the hands of students but all procedures are supervised by qualified aesthetics instructors. The«take» is that with a membership, you get a month’s worth of treatments for the price of one treatment at some upscale med spas. The school is tucked in a strip mall just west of Scottsdale Road and is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. The reception area has a modern, minimalist vibe with comfy leather couches in the waiting area and a trickling water fountain. Clinical services are performed downstairs in spacious, private treatment rooms. And yes, you will have a small audience of students for most treatments. Upstairs are several classrooms where you can get facials and waxing if you don’t mind that treatments are not done in a private environment. These are students after all, who have to get their hands wet before they’re let loose on the world. Treatments upstairs are also supervised by an instructor. IMAj(pronounced«image») is a great place to go if you’re on a budget but still want to keep up with the Scottsdale Joneses.
