MUSE Esthetics

I had to wait a good 15 – 20 minutes for my appointment, wondering if the woman had forgotten about me, but in all fairness, she was honoring a living social certificate that had expired in March and I had called 6 weeks after the expiration begging to use it. It then took 2.5 months to get a saturday appointment with her, but I finally got one at the end of July. So I was willing to let a lot fly since she could have taken my money and said your bad for forgetting to book! The facial was nice… I have nothing to compare it to since this was my first ever. She gave me a scalp massage, and shoulder rub, hand rub. The facial had a steam component, a salt or sugar type scrub, then a series of moisturizers. She asked if I wanted any extractions and I said whatever you think and she said I didn’t need any, I had good skin. (Then why ask?) She ended it at an hour even though my certificate was for 75 minutes, but I was still happy because, again, it was an expired certificate. lol. I’m easy to please.

This was my first time going to Muse Esthetics. I received a gift certificate for multiple services and a few months ago I booked my appointment. First the owner said she was booked until August, which was uncharacteristically long for a spa, but I went ahead and made an appointment. When the day arrived, I had not received a confirmation call about my facial and then tried to call and confirm the appointment myself. I left a message and did not get a call back. First of all, who uses Google Voice — really? I took a chance and showed up for my appointment. Well, the esthetician did not show up. After 15 minutes and one more phone call later, I left. It is rare that I receive such bad service that is propels me to write a review, but I will make an exception in this case. The level of professionalism was dismal and I would not recommend this place to anyone even if you have a certificate. I have a list of places that I would visit instead.
PS It has been about 24 hours and I still have yet to receive a call.

Had a great facial!

For my first facial ever, I chose MUSE and was incredibly surprised at how comfortable and congenial the experience was! Every part of the treatment was enjoyable, the massages were relaxing, and I walked away feeling rejuvenated and very, very clean! I had the signature facial with two add-​ons: waxing of the upper lip and a high frequency treatment to zap out bacteria from some blemishes. Both sound painful but they actually were done really well, nothing that made me uncomfortable. The esthetician did a great job, and very personable.
I’d highly recommend this experience, and it was actually quite affordable with the current specials. Be sure that when you enter the shopping complex of the northeast corner of Gold Dust and Scottsdale that you drive straight back (east) to the sign AMICI… inside, studio 4 is where MUSE is. I would give my review 5 out of 5 stars «Woohoo, as good as it gets!», but this is my first experience so I’m limited to the 4 out of 5. When I retun, I’ll be sure to write a new rating!
