Dr Checroun is an ophthalmologist and as such I expected to walk away with an accurate eyeglass prescription. I had a problem with a possible retina tear that turned out not to be serious. During my eye exam, the doc told me he was going to make my new prescription stronger so when I struggled with the stronger lens, I figured that was ok. 10 months later I purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses. When they came in a week or so later I found another pair of regular sunglasses that I feel in love with and purchased without prescription lenses. I left Precision Eyewear wearing the nonprescription sunglasses and discovered I could see 100% better with this pair than I could with the prescription glasses. I called the office to report this discovery and was told to bring them in to verify the prescription. I decided to go back to Ironwood Eye Care(left 2 yrs ago when optometrist retired) and have my eyes checked by one of the new docs. Well, after many tests, my prescription showed that my eyes hadn’t changed very much since my last visit. What shocked me(and the doc) was how far off my new prescription was from the one I had done by Dr. Checroun. Ironwood said that my old prescription looked to have over corrected for my eyes. Needless to say, I won’t be going back to Dr Checroun. One last thing, his office staff is exceptional. So sad.

Wow!!! I’m sure glad I found all these reviews. I thought it was just me that the doctor was so rude when it came to making the payment at the end of my appointment. Dr. C has horrible customer service skills. The front desk staff was not great but to be honest they only do what he makes them do. They are a reflection on how he treats staff and customers. I will NEVER go back to this place again!

After my prescription lens were finally received, they were the incorrect prescription. I emailed and called requesting that the Dr. call me so I could be sure my file had not been mixed up with another since the perscription was so wrong. I never heard from the Dr. and my email was not answered. I called again and still could not speak with the Dr. It has now been 4 weeks still no lens. I have contacted my insurance carrier to see what options I have. I had been going to this Dr. for several years, but if you have a problem or question, forget it, I’m not sure how you reach the Dr. as you will not get past his gatekeepers. It’s just not the type of medical care with which I’m comfortable.

First, despite the other reviews I thought the staff was excellent! I bought a pair of glasses and found the staff on top of everything with regards to selection, ordering and pickup. Not sure why other reviews have been bad. Second, I do think Kayla G’s review that says«she only likes to work with medical offices with the best of service» is the most entitled attitude I have seen. Unless she is paying CASH for services, she should expect mediocre service since that all that insurance plans pay for these days. Get a reality check Kayla…

Worst staff ever. I was appalled at how bad the«optician» was. She had NOIDEA how to adjust eyeglasses, simply handed them to me. When I(politely) asked her to adjust them, I got a blank stare. When you pay the price this place charges for eyeglasses, you need a competent optician. I will never go back there. Horrid.

The staff was incredibly friendly and the doctor was nice enough and did a thorough exam dealing with the issue I was having. However, he walked up to the front desk afterwards and demanded payment immediately. So incredibly unprofessional, rude, and inappropriate. I somewhat understand collecting payment upfront, but only if you have warned of that service in advance, and then let the front desk lady who is dealing with me already do her job by asking me. Dr. Checroun did not walk away or say«bye» or «nice to meet you» or «hope you are feeling better» .he just stood there until I handed over payment… as though he really doubted I would ever pay! Is he that bad of a doctor that he can’t possibly trust someone to pay the 100.00 for the appointment or is such a bad doctor that he needs this one bill paid now because he has no patients who would ever return after their experience with him? They have my SS, my address, my ID, my insurance card(which they take my insurance)…SEND me a bill after it goes through my insurance and wait for me to mail in my payment like every other medical office. At the very least, thank me and say bye as you leave and don’t come across desperate for money — let your front office billing staff demand the upfront payment. But honestly, no where on your forms does it say upfront payment is demanded… every other medical office I go to in Scottsdale and Phoenix for the last 10 years has sent me a a bill after running insurance. There is no wonder now why you were the ONLY ophthalmologist in scottsdale to have an opening that morning!

The Doctor and most of his staff were very nice and thorough I believe. I had a bit of a tiff with one of the staff ladies when my bank card was charged twice and she got snippy with me that«she didn’t do that»(although my bank verified that it charged twice). Coming in with a background of being in «customer service» it was in very bad taste on her part. I don’t know if I would recommend the office as my friends, family, and I only like to work with medical offices that have the best of service.

Dr. Checroun is a great medical eye doctor. I started seeing him last year, to help with severe dry eyes. He has made a huge difference and the staff is equally helpful /friendly. He is very thorough and definitely cares for his patients. I’d recommend him to all. Also, if you are looking for a great selection of eyewear — they have it. A bit pricy compared to other options, but if you have HSA, why not?
