Salon Mikhail

I recently set up a haircut & style with Michail himself. In conversation I had shared with my new esthetician that i was in search of a new hair stylist, and she told me that she recently went to Michail & was very pleased with her hair style & cut, and she would highly recommend him. I set up an appointment & honestly have to admit that due to my long curly hair i typcally just get a haircut & put myhair in a wet ponytail (most stylist do not know how to blowdry /​straighten my hair with out leaving it frizzy). …I am so glad I went ahead & let Michail do his magic, & that he did! …I have found my new stylist!!! :)

I have been going to Mikhail for almost 7 years now which is the longest I have stayed with one man in my life. :) Mikhail is so talented in his craft that I really don’t bring in pictures of what I want anymore. I just sit in his chair, give him an idea (keep the length but I want more movement) and say «work your magic» and he does! In our time together so far I have had long layered hair as well as many variations of the «Posh Spice» bob and I have always been happy. He takes the time to look at your face and bone structure and then creates a perfect cut based on that.
I also love their online booking system which really helps streamline booking your appointment.
I constantly get compliments on my hair and even had a lady chase me down in Trader Joes to ask where I get my hair cut. Mikhail deserves 10 stars out of 5!

Went to see Mikhail a couple of years ago when this place was called Salon Etro after being called Beauty Bar.
Mikhail is a true artist. His hair cuts are phenomenal. He works with how your hair naturally is, and somehow cuts so precisely you barely need to bother to style your hair.
I live in San Diego and whenever I go see my mother in Phoenix I make sure to have my hair cut by Mikhail.
I told him that I was a low maintenance gal and I wasn’t good at blowing out or flat ironing my own hair. He said, «No problem, when the right cut is there, you barely need to do anything.»
He was absolutely right.
And I too have paid more for haircuts that were far inferior. I wish this guy would move to San Diego!

Since last review was several years ago, i wanted to write an updated and deserving review. Don’t you hate it when you pay a lot of money to get your hair cut and after 2 wks it loses it’s shape and it doesn’t style like it did on day one??? That was my experience till I found Mikhail. Mikhail is knowledgeable, experienced, and talented! During my first appointment, he listened to what I liked, didn’t like, and what I wanted. Then after quick study of my hair, he educated me on what my hair was like and what type of cuts would most flatter me and be easy to maintain. I have a lot of hair and it’s long and thick. Everyone always texturizes it and thins it out, but Mikhail gave me layers that were so flattering and amazingly easy to maintain – all I have to do is wash and dry… not even blow it out w/​a round brush. Of course when I do take little extra time to style it, it looks even better! I always get complements on my hair after he cuts it and I can go 3 months w/​o another haircut since my cut grows out beautifully. I have moved out of state few years ago, but when I’m back in AZ I make sure I get an appointment w/​Mikhail so he can fix my hair and work his magic. I’ve tried out several stylists since my move, but I have yet to find someone who can cut like Mikhail! BTW, I’ve paid a lot more money (like double his price) at other salons in AZ and Dallas, and the cuts were no where near as good as Mikhail’s! You should give him a try, you’ll probably get your best haircut ever!

Wonderful staff, great stylists, a little pricey, could have a better floor plan.
I went here with my entire wedding party to have everything done. My sylist even came in early before they opened so she could accomodate us. We were all finished in a timely manner and we all loved the outcome of our hair, nails, etc.
Positives: If you are willing to pay for the service, it’s worth it. The staff is very friendly. Even if you go there for the first time it doesn’t feel awkward.
Negatives: crowded and noisy when they are busy, can get a cheaper haircut that turns out the same from somewhere else, like AZ Hair Company.
Other: I would recommend making an appointment even though they do walk-​ins,
