Dr. Meharry is new to the practice but she was excellent. Very knowledgeable and professional.

Dr. Dennis Kirkpatrick has a sense of intellectual communication and caring that is unusually
patient and kind when it comes to disseminating information to a patient in a comfortable and direct manner. He and his staff create a synergistic effect that goes beyond the usual office demeanor. After having had damage to one of my eyes, my concerns were, of course, quite serious. The time taken by Dr. Kirkpatrick and his staff were completely thorough and left me with a feeling of being cared for in a way that satisfied all of my concerns. I would highly recommend this office to new patients and praise the time and effort Doctor Kirkpatrick and his support group apply to patients. I am grateful for an office that keeps the patient at the forefront of its care.

I lost my right eye due to a detached retina 8 years ago, so I was very nervous when I had to undergo cataract surgery recently on my left eye. My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Dennis Kilpatrick for many years so we knew his level of professionalism and his qualifications, but we were nevertheless very anxious (scared!) going into this surgery. The result of my surgery was restoration of ²⁰⁄₂₅ vision in my left eye, no pain and tremendous relief! As far as my husband and I are concerned, Scottsdale Eye Physicians & Surgeons and Dr. Dennis Kilpatrick in particular preserved, and dramatically improved the miracle of sight for me. What else is there to say, expect Thank you!

If this was just to review Dr. Meharry, I would be leaving 5 stars as she was very professional, thorough, and I believe that I am receiving excellent care by her. My three stars is for overall experience so far. First, I had to return after an initial two hour appointment because they forgot one of the tests that needed to be done in order to get my contacts. That was a bit frustrating because I have a 14 month old and getting in for appointments is hard enough as it is. My second issue is with communication. They had said my contacts would be in within a few days. I had not heard from them so I called after over a week had passed. The front desk person let me know that «well we called you Wednesday but your voicemail was full». Ok. I take responsibility that they were unable to leave a message that day– but were they going to call again? Or– could they have left a message with my husband as I had signed a release for him? I just thought it was a bit troubling that they would just call once and write you off. Or maybe that is just how it seemed. I will follow up with this review over the next few appointments as perhaps I just had a couple of unfortunate human errors combined in my negative experience.

I wear contacts & glasses for the past 20 or so years but have not used this office a vision exam but for medical to remove a chalazion.
To be honest I don’t know which Dr. Kilpatrick I saw. The office is clean, has good parking, and the staff was friendly. I was able to make an appointment within one week of calling for an appointment.
During the initial stages of the appointment the nurse had me do some basic eye tests for metrics. Dr. Kilpatrick was very nice, knew my GP (he’d referred me), and told me due to the time I’d had the chalazion it needed to be surgically removed since it failed to resolve.
He went start to finish through the procedure with me, asked if I wanted to do it today or another day, and answered all my questions. I was concerned about how much my insurance would pay so he had the staffers check on all of the financial info before we proceeded (about a 10 minute wait). He warned me the worst part of the procedure was the injection & he was right BUT was very gentle with me.
He was like a dentist, where they want to talk to you while they have their hands in your mouth. He wanted to talk to me through the procedure (5 mins tops) to keep me comfortable and got concerned when I stopped talking. Then I explained I didn’t want to talk/​move when he had sharp objects by my eye:) That was the only part I disliked.
The visit & experience was great, I highly recommend them for medical eye issues!

Better watch your dollars here! Especially when buying glasses from Janetlynne Schultz… I had a very bad experience with her.
She sold me a pair of Progressive glasses for 440.00 and said if I had a problem, no worries… when I returned them all of a sudden I cannot get dollar for dollar back and ended up with single vision lenses for the same money. They beat me out of at least 100.00 if not 200.00.
Does anyone know if an optician gets full credit back from lens and frame mfg’s?
