I am a huge coffee fanatic so great coffee is a must. I came across What’s Your Grind at the Ahwatukee Farmer’s Market. I wanted an iced coffee because it is Arizona. Right away I was greeted with a smile and asked what I wanted. I got an iced coffee and it was fabulous. I would eventually go to the Farmer’s Market just to get their coffee. They knew who I was pretty soon after that. They serve right out of the back of a van and are based out of Tucson. I moved here from Minnesota so it was so great to find out that they are from there as well. I ended up buying a couple of their coffees and still enjoy their coffee to this day.

Where are all the coffee places in Scottsdale? After walking about a mile from our hotel through Old Town Scottsdale, with a detour only to find Pascucci closed until noon, our group couldn’t believe the lack of coffee shops. At home, we’d have passed about a dozen in that small amount of real estate. And no, Starbucks doesn’t count. We’d almost given up hope, but the first stall we saw at the OTS Farmers Market was What’s Your Grind. A few minutes and a few orders later, we were happily caffeinated. The Papua New Guinea was smooth and hit the spot. My only disappointment was that the creamer was the type that comes in the little sealed cups(Land o’ Lakes?). I would have preferred carafes of milk and cream, but perhaps it would be a challenge keeping them cool enough in warmer weather.

Their French Roast was a perfect way to wake up after spending a first night in Arizona. We had stumbled bleery eyed passing up the Starbucks for better options and finally given up. heading straight for the FM. What’s Your Grind is located near the front of the Farmer’s Market(near the jelly couple and the produce) which is a definite plus(and conveniently located next to Sweet Republic’s mini booth DROOLS). I am all about supporting local coffee folks who are fair trade coffee certified and this company fits the bill. I was super tempted to get some coffee at the market but you can order their stuff on line. On another note my boyfriend’s family used to own an espresso cart and he got a kick out of their homemade van. A large bold cup of coffee and five minutes later I was in a much better place.
