Fantastic little place off the beaten path, just outside downtown Scottsville. Everything from their ingredients to their packaging is top notch. While the bagels are different than what you get at Bodos, they are quite wonderful and have the perfect crust with a soft, airy inside. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed in this bakery!

Love it, love it, love it. Admittedly biased, as I live just a few miles away and I favor a wee lil’ lunchy, brunch spot. Such a comfortable, cute building for those friendly ladies to set up shop. Bagels are consistently yummy since first buying them at Scottsville Farmers Market stand. Soups and sandwiches have fresh ingredients and extremely tasty. They often sell out of some pastries and savories, when I meander on in on Sundays, so call or get there early. Route 6 can be busy, so if you’re new to area, watch out when parking and avoid lingering too close to road. A nice selection of VA made products too, my favorite Monastery Honey, Gearharts chocolate and Rt. 11 chips.

This bakery, tucked away on Route 6 just outside of Scottsvile, Va, is delightful and well worth the drive from Charlottesville and even beyond. There’s no big-city pretension here, even though the fare would stand its ground in Georgetown or Brooklyn. The bakery’s vibe exudes laid-back Southern hospitality and somehow makes you feel like you have stopped by a good friend’s house(one who also happens to be an awesome baker) for a tasty breakfast treat or sumptuous sandwich. The menu is eclectic and inventive, and the young women who own or work there are super friendly(and I might add, extremely pleasing to the eye). Although it has been open for less than a month at this point, it is becoming very popular. My only concern is that in the future, I’ll have to take a number just to get in the door. Don’t miss a visit to this incredibly unlikely oasis in the middle of Central Virginia!

Delicious and quaint local bakery that has a variety of fresh pastries, bagels, cupcakes, and breads. I recommend the everything bagel, coconut macaroons with Ghirardelli chocolate, and the old fashioned vanilla glazed donuts. Limited seating but intimate and adorable atmosphere. They also sell goods at the Scottsville farmers market Saturday mornings 8a-12. Highly recommend a visit to get a little homemade taste of Scottsville!
