I came here while staying at the Hilton(in Dec 2015) for a work trip. I wanted something healthy and within walking distance from the hotel. I“m so glad I found this place. I ordered one of the veggie burgers on the specials menu and one of their juices(the one with kale and ginger and apple… i can’t really remember). Anyways, the food was satisfying and was exactly what I was looking. Next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely go back but I’ll make sure to order ahead of time for takeout so I don’t have to wait too long for the food.

If you are vegan or vegetarian then you will think you just entered heaven because you don’t have to stress out about what isn’t «safe» to order like you do in a typical café setting. There are so many choices that it is hard to decide what to order but I think all the food seems to be exceptional… and humane! :)

Wow. Completely blown away from this place! A great vegan café with a huge menu and homemade baked goods! I got the seasonal pumpkin panini with smashed potatoes… mmm both so delicious but I have to say it’s the smashed potatoes that I’m remembering now. I also tried the buffalo bbq wings, and was very impressed. The texture was spot on and they even came on a stick! The best vegan wings I’ve ever had. I also tried the raw pumpkin bites, so tasty and delicious. If you’re there, don’t miss stopping into the bathroom — hilarious!

If you can find parking, yummy food in Scranton. Had the J Lo burger(?) — all was tasty, hot and fresh. Clean, inviting, good vibe, love the bathroom stickers.

Perfect place! If I lived in the area, I would spend way too much money here! So many options I had to double check that everything’s was indeed vegan because is never seen a place with such variety! This place is truly one of a kind & simply amazing! I had the buffalo drumsticks & «turkey» club. Both amazing! I ordered more buffalo drumsticks to go. My mom ordered the butternut squash soup & grilled«cheese» & tomato. She loved it! I dream of the day every café and deli is like this place. Cruelty free and amazing!

I’ve been waiting to come here for so long! Me and my friends are on vacation from MA and drove 2 hours from our hotel to eat here. Man was it worth it! I had the meatball sub and smashed potatoes, it was like eating nostalgia. I highly recommend this place its just amazing. I got a sampler platter as well that looks boss but I’m saving it for later: P Go check it out!

Been eating here for a few years, and sadly, today marks the end of an era. Ordered the buffalo drumsticks for an appetizer and found some bugs in our celery. Thought maybe the celery wasn’t washed well. No biggie. My boyfriend and I ordered some wraps for entrees. I was given the wrong soup. It was still tasty, so I didn’t bother mentioning it. After eating about half of our lunch, we noticed the lettuce was really dirty. Upon further inspection, we found more insects on the produce. I brought the evidence up to the counter to notify staff and it seemed like they didn’t seem to care. Weren’t offered any money back or dessert or a beverage– ended up throwing away 2⁄3 of our food that we payed $ 36 for. Still shocked that nobody tried to fix the issue or offered us another bug-free lunch. Going to work hungry… In response to your comment, the plate I brought up was nearly empty because it was our appetizer plate. We threw nearly all of our lunch away. It’s not my job to decide how to handle these situations, as an owner you should have tried to rectify the situation or make it right. I am not the type of person to cause a scene, so just because I wasn’t yelling and throwing a tantrum does not mean that I was okay with eating dirty food with bugs in it. Your sign said creamy tomato and underneath on a separate line it said white bean kale. That, to me, suggests two different soups. It was clear the produce was completely unwashed. There was dirt covering nearly every piece of romaine that I picked out of the wrap. I’ve worked in several restaurants and regularly buy and prep my own salads and produce. I can tell you with certainty your produce was not washed. Your response taking zero responsibility suggests you need work on your customer service. We will not be back.

Honestly the strangest meal i’ve eaten. They were nice and they have a wide variety of options but i wish they had more options without vegan meats. They are very strange. I am a vegetarian and therefore i do not enjoy eating meat or meat substitutes. Almost all menu items had some type of vegan meat — which were not very tasty.

The name is so appropriate for spot. You’re welcomed in with catchy indie and rock music playing softly in the background and super friendly staff. I appreciated the small rapport I had with the chef, as she was part of the experience which made me feel welcomed. Along with our hummus appetizer, we were offered a complimentary addition, their cilantro and jalapeño hummus. I need to recreate this for get togethers with friends, as it is packed with so much flavor and is quite delicious. Their regular hummus is awesome too, and their veggies are fresh and crisp. As for the main meal, I ordered the Rozie burger(I believe that was the name) and my coworkers shared a large salad. Everything here tastes fresh suggesting it was made from scratch, and it leaves you feeling full but not heavy. I managed to snap a shot of the hummus a few bites in, but I couldn’t last long enough when the burger came out. It was absolutely great. I’m usually not a fan of avocado but it was a nice addition to this meal. My only gripe, and a small one at that, is disappointment that there was no complimentary water available.

The food was ok. Place was pretty packed and we were the third party in line to order. I got the best of both worlds sandwich with smashed potatoes and my wife got the green grilled cheese with smashed potatoes. The chef spent more time looking up at her tickets than actually making the food. It took 45 minutes but at least the food was fresh and warm/hot. If this place was local to me(it’s not) I would probably only stop in if no one else was waiting for food.

Eden is(currently) Scranton’s only Vegan restaurant, and in many ways I think this restaurant changed how our fair city viewed vegan cuisine. Meat-happy diner’s don’t run for the hills yet-stay put! What the crew at Eden has managed to do is make this lifestyle choice accessible for the average Scranton’ian. The menu features steak and cheese, salmon wraps, hamburgers, and a slew of carnivorous options– only, without the actual meat. The meat substitutes are generally made from soy protein or wheat gluten, and they are overwhelmingly meat-like in texture. I know that sounds like some major boloney– but, I’m serious! The flavors are remarkably spot on in many cases– achieved primarily through seasoning. Another cool feature is that, the meals are lighter– and in many cases low in fat and cholesterol. In addition to a full-menu, the staff at Eden whips up an expansive specials menu each day– including soups, salads, and sandwiches! So– let’s get to the food! On this particular day my friend and I both opted for specials– both without any vegan meat, although– let me say however that if you’re looking for an outrageous chicken cheese steak, this should be your first stop! My friend ordered the notorious«smashed potato’s»(the overwhelmingly Irish girl in me gives them 2 ma-jah(!) thumbs up) and I had the veggie side. We split our bounty, each of us taking one half of both sandwiches. The mozzarella cheese is really tasty, and I promise you as a world-renowed cheese lover, I’m speaking the truth! The bread was perfectly toasty and crisp, really giving this light summer meal a nice burst of texture. It is the attention to detail that impresses me so much at Eden. Meals are not simply thrown together– rather they are well-crafted, well-thought-out, fully formed meals. The flavour combinations will impress even the most picky eater. Seasonal flavors are utilized regularly in scrumtous and inventive ways(check out the soup selection!) while still catering, quite thoughtfully, to the tastes of Scranton!

My hubby and I are vegan and get excited to find any vegan place to eat! This café wasn’t only awesome because it was all vegan, but awesome because it was so good with great customer service, and relaxing atmosphere. Food was delicious for anyone!!! Really shows how delicious eating non animal products can be… before our mountain vacation is over we will stop here again on Friday. I’d recommend this café for anyone to go and eat.

Beat thing about many college towns is there is usually a decent veg restaurant, and Scranton is no exception. Eden is a short ride from Steamtown NHS. First off, we’re not vegetarians, we just enjoy a mostly vegetarian diet. That said, I’m usually not a fan of veg-ified meat dishes, but Eden definately succeeds in that department. Hubby had the ‘steak’ sandwich with smashed potatoes. The sandwich was delicious. Chunks of ‘steak’ that were tender and well seasoned, smothered in cheese. I had the black bean avocado wrap. The texture combination of firm but tender beans, mushy avocado, and crunchy veggies was good, but nothing really shined through. The wrap was good, not knock my socks off, but definately tasty and filling. I was disappointed in the side of veggies because they seemed to come out of a bag from the freezer. I also had the zucchini pea soup. Normally I don’t like pea soup, but this was delicious. The zucchini lightened the soup in both color and flavor, seasoning was spot on and I wish I ordered a bowl instead of a cup.

I’m not from this area but if I was I’d be a regular! This place is perfect for lunch. Wide array of options and everything looked awesome. I got the turkey club and smashed potatoes. Would have been perfect with a slice of Chao Cheese by Field Roast. Cool vibe, super friendly staff.

We drove up from Wilkes — Barre after planning to come here for years. The hours are restrictive to anyone who doesn’t live in Scranton, and probably to those who do as well. I had the squash panini which fell apart in my hands, and I had to ration napkins because there were only THREE available for the customers. The sandwich was fantastic. My wife had the salmon wrap and she loved it. There was a table next to us who were beating their chests about ethical choices the entire time we were there. I get it. Everyone else says it in their review so I will as well. I’m not a vegan, but I do cook vegan food. Call me hypocritical. That’s fine. I’m doing more for the movement with my Instagram than the people at the table next to us with their murder food speech. If this place wouldn’t rely so heavily on manufactured meat substitutes they could bring the price down. Besides, many vegans don’t want to eat something called Salmon this or Turkey that. It’s confusing and violates the idea that we should not being eating those things in the first place. Oh look! I’m the people at the next table! I’ll be back as soon as I can because I believe in this place more than I do any restaurant around.

Update: I do in fact go here VERY often! Eden offers take-out which is the best thing to have ever happened to me. I am working two jobs and when I don’t have time to make dinner at home to bring with me, Eden is the only vegan option I have, and I’m never disappointed! I’ve tried the Rosie Perez burger, the BLT, the turkey club, steak and cheese, pizza, CBR wrap, the Rolo wrap… and probably a lot more that I am forgetting. I love the food here. The only thing I don’t love is the ranch dressing, but I’ve had a very hard time finding a vegan ranch anywhere that I do like. Probably my favorite and most frequent go-to is the BLT… so fresh and delicious! I highly recommened Eden whether you are vegan or not!

Nice place friendly staff. I am not a Vegan but do not eat meat for the most part but do eat dairy etc. I was hoping for better flavor and the way they call things by the meat names is a little weird. My Vegan Sister oves it so maybe there is a delta I am not aware of

Great place to stop and get sandwiches, salads, burgers, or pizza. The food I ordered was excellent and fits with the atmosphere of the restaurant. I also ordered one of their banana peanut butter smoothies and it was delicious. I’m glad I chose this restaurant to stop at.
