I have visited this location twice. Both times the staff was quick and efficient at helping this father of 5 out. Though I have so e experience with gaming myself, I rely on their recommendations and help anytime I walk in. If you are not experienced I the gaming world, this is a great place to purchase anything to do with gaming. The staff will answer all of your questions and help you.

I could not agree more! With a plethora of Game Stops in the area, certainly there are plenty from which to choose. However, this is the one you want to frequent! The employees here are helpful … and truly HAPPY to speak to customers about new releases, offer suggestions, and address any concerns. We spent a small fortune here for Christmas … the employees were AMAZINGLY nice(even though we were buying Wii products for the family … which is not particularly«cool»). Here’s why this is the store to visit: –The last time we went to the Steamtown Mall, 1.) we thought we were going to be robbed in the middle of the mall(they LITERALLY do not have enough police officers to get us back into that garage/mall). 2.) some«local» kids were trying to «sell» an iPad in Game Stop. The employee literally said, «Nice weed!»(with sarcasm) and began wiping off the screen … to which the kids said, «Gotta roll your blunt on something …» We could not have gotten into our car faster. Dear god, avoid this one.(And, that is no joke!)(BTW, Game Stop employees, do you really think that iPad wasn’t stolen?!) –The one in Dickson City(next to the Target) is populated with employees that are more«interested in each other» than customers. We popped in here after our purchase at the mall. We bought a handful of games and, then, I asked the employee which Mario Party he liked better, 8 or 9? He scoffed and said, «I don’t play those.»(Nice attitude.) I looked at the other employee and he said, «Oh, yeahhhhhhhhh, 8.» Ummm, just say you’ve never played it. Tool. (And, this is why my boyfriend and I get all our own games through Steam and Amazon.) But, if you need something local, forget Toys R Us(you don’t need the crying kids) … visit THIS Game Stop … these are some REALLYGREATGUYS!

This Game Stop is one of the better ones in the local area. Employees are friendly without being overbearing, and the game selection is pretty good. Unfortunately this location is in the Viewmont Mall, which seems to be dying a slow death all its own, but at least it isn’t the Steamtown Mall. There used to be a great Game Stop location just up the road on the Scranton-Carbondale Highway next to Five Guys, but it closed, likely due to the oversaturation of Game Stops in this area.
