Keystone Diner is the quintessential greasy spoon. Their great coney burgers, Texas Wieners, and gravy cheese fries hit the spot. Great NEPA comfort food. Recommend stopping by whenever in Westside

Keystone is a hit or miss place. Sometimes the food is good, but sometimes it is pretty bad. It basically depends on who’s cooking. The owner tends to make the best food. I almost Always get a bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin when I get breakfast here and it’s okay. I like it but it isn’t anything super special. In terms of service, I usually get waited on almost immediately after sitting down, but today I had a 15 minute wait! Granted it was a bit crowded, but 4 people were working. I think that their Texas burgers and fries far outweigh their breakfast options(though their chocolate chip pancakes are pretty tasty) Overall, this place is okay for a quick bite, but don’t expect anything too fabulous from Keystone.

Food is great! Service sucks, skinny brunette chick is rude and unfriendly. They also give no receipts for your order. You get your total at register. God forbid u wanna add it up yourself. Well several times our party has gotten no receipts and noticed our totals didn’t add up according to menu prices. If this happens again were likely pursuing proper restaurant ethics channels. No excuse for customers not receiving their receipts.

The food is decent, diner food. I had a grilled cheese and gravy fries. The grilled cheese was not cooked long enough for the cheese to really melt in the middle but it was good enough for under $ 3. The workers are pretty friendly but the place really needs to be revamped. The floor was filthy and the linoleum tiles were pulling up and broken all over the place.

When I want a greasy burger and good atmosphere this is the spot! This place has been around forever and if eat here you will understand why. It’s comfort food. The staff is always the same, and the food is consistently good. Their weiner sauce is amazing! The place itself is old and not the cleanest but it wouldn’t be the same if it was. I highly recommend this business if youre in the area!

This is my favorite place to get a Texas Weiner. It is dirty, old, and outdated and you should know that going in. The food though is great and cheap. I also order take out from here whenever I am in Scranton and when they say 20 minutes, it is usually ready in 15. I’ve never had to wait longer than they said.

We ended a drunken night in Scranton at Keystone Restaurant, which is practically around the corner from my sister’s house. Why had she never taken me there for late night eats before? The small diner had a few characters but no one was overly obnoxious(hopefully we weren’t, either). The place is known for their Texas wieners but I wasn’t feeling so daring. I opted for chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers were fine(big ups for the extra large side of Frank’s Red Hot on the side) but the fries were definitely not fresh-cut as another Unilocaler mentioned. Maybe they used to be? I definitely saw frozen steak fries on the night of my visit, and they weren’t really seasoned with anything, either. Definitely not worth the calories. Cash-only and grab your own drink from the fridge in the front. This is a bare-bones type of situation but it works for late-night. You wouldn’t catch me here otherwise.

Went for the Texas wieners, which the locals rave over — blah. Nothing at all special. The onion rings, however, were grand. Perfectly coated, expertly fried — but over priced. All in all, my first visit shall be my last.

Absolutely the best Texas wieners in town, possibly anywhere, and we’ve been coming here a long time. Diner atmosphere, much better than it was 10 years ago when one of the other reviewers visited(haven’t seen anyone swatting at ceiling fans lately). Love the people who work there; an old Scranton mainstay. Order up the two TWs in a basket, along with fries and gravy. Yum! Secret Texas Wiener recipe has never changed, which is why we keep coming back. Still a family run joint.

I’ve been coming here since I was a small child. It has changed ownership but they still make the best Texas Wieners and fresh cut french fries in Scranton :) Be sure to bring cash, as this place does not accept debit/credit cards.

ten years ago i lived in scranton. my then live-in boyfriend, a scranton native, used to take me here all the time. i love their wieners and fries. the best i’ve ever had, really. i’d give it 5 stars but the waitress cleaned a ceiling fan over where were were eating once and that was nasty. this was a really long time ago but i’m wondering if it was the same dumbass waitress that the first reviewer is referring to. LOL.
