What a nice park in an otherwise drabby city. Don’t expect to be in the mountains or in the great outdoors, but what they do have, they do it well. You’ll find a nice treehouse, bridge over water, some train tracks, and a good amount of little trails. Though we came on a gloomy weekend, there was a lot of potential in this park for the summer months. If ever we’re back in Scranton, this is a worthwhile place to visit, for sure.

Still arguably the best thing going in Scranton. * Easy enough walking trails * A great view from the tree house * Nice pictures with Nay Aug Gorge and Roaring Brook * Two nice playgrounds * The Everhart Museum And that best part is that it’s rarely busy and(not the museum) it’s all free. Thank you taxpayers of Scranton!

I used to live adjacent to the park and miss being able to take my dog on long walks there. Whenever friends would visit we would go to the waterfall. At Christmas time the park is filled with over the top holiday decorations. We had our save the date photo shoot here and had many different natural backdrops. There is a playground for kids and a nice tree house. As with any park, try to avoid going at night.

Went to the pool today. The pools are huge and only had one lifeguard for each and was dangerously understaffed. The area was covered with litter and I took garbage out of the pool twice! Lots of kids are dropped off and have no adult supervision. Our kids had a great time on the slides but more than once a large group of kids cut the line. It’s a shame. The park and treehouse were beautiful.

I had my very first date with the love of my life here, so I’m a little bit biased, but nonetheless, this park is breath-taking. Of course I have to mention the beautiful waterfall. During the summer months you can climb down the ravine and sit yourself atop it, as the river isn’t too wide and you can easily jump across. And the myriad of trails that criss-cross the park are for beginners, so anyone can take a nice hike and experience the park’s beauty. I also recommend taking a short walk to the treehouse so you can enjoy the views. Lastly, there are grills located on the north side of the park, past the pool and pavilion, that anyone can use and makes for a great cookout spot for a big gathering. It’s right next to the playground, so great for the young kids and parents alike. Overall, this was my first experience in Pennsylvania’s nature and I highly recommend for every city rat who has yet to visit.

A public park in downtown Scranton with a treehouse, a waterfall, and an Olympic size swimming pool??? This is a must visit place. I also love the different walking/hiking trails, seriously you can customize your own distance and pace. I even added rock skipping(and a little climbing) to get closer to the fall.

Nay Aug is a place that has potential beauty. The problem is its not kept up very well. Trails are littered with garbage. The pool is very nice, and the picnic area as well. Nice place to go for a walk or take kids to playground, but I just wish it was cleaned up a bit. It was really cool as a kid to go to the zoo that used to be here!

Although I would have preferred to give a five star, had to settle for the four because of the empty zoo(or rather a handful of animal housing facility). Nevertheless, the park has much much improved over the recent years. Its just sad that not too many people take advantage of this hidden gem tucked in one corner of the town.

Very pretty park in a nice neighborhood of East Scranton great for a stroll, jog, fast-paced jaunt or swimming(even though local morons complain about paying to use the huge waterslide… a measly $ 5 for the whole day) The Everhart Museum is located here too and a tree house that the mayor constantly talks about!
