Twist & Shout Ice Cream Shoppe

Texas longdogs are out of this world. Started getting them last year and couldn’t wait for them to open for the season to get them again.

GREAT ice cream. They serve the perfect Blue Bell ice cream for the hard varieties and make the best soft serve I’ve ever had. The prices are ridiculously low, the portions can get laughably large, and they have a great selection of sundaes, shakes, and flavors of ice creams and toppings. I’m sure I would give them a 3 or 4 if I got something like pizza here (they have a menu of regular food choices like pizza, hot dogs, burgers, etc…) but the ice cream just can’t be beat. There’s no denying this is your classic side-​of-​the-​road ice cream shop with your standard high school girl employees. It’s almost easy to miss being on a stretch of a busy commercial/​industrial road in North Scranton and being located in a modified gas station so keep your eyes peeled. I might have to say this place is so good it’s worth driving miles out of the way for if you’re ever in or passing the Scranton area.
As a side note, the absolute best mini-​golf (& batting cage/​go-​kart) place you’ll ever go to is a mile or two down the road called Lahey Fun Park (
). Going there and coming here after is just a kids (and big kids) perfect summer day out
