Really nice establishment with a great menu and wide variety of drinks. Food is fresh and the service is hit or miss depending on the server. The food is honestly«ok». A breath of fresh air in an area in dire need of better establishments Tommys is a fun lively place and if ISO something in the area it shouldn’t disappoint.

Last night my family and I went to your location in Sea Bright to celebrate the graduation of 2 of my nieces. We were a large group and ordered many appetizers, pizzas, sushi, calzones, and at least 2 rounds of drinks. As the food trickled out, we found it to be quite delicious, until there was a large beetle crawling out of my niece’s sushi roll. We spoke to our server and she took it away and came back to let us know she would’t be charging us for it. However, we were already appalled and my niece was highly traumatized by the situation and we asked to speak with a manager. This is when Daniel came to our table and was very dismissive and said«the door is open, things happen». This was even more upsetting as we choose your institution for a family celebration and was being let down by your manager. He never offered to make any accommodations other than removing that roll from the bill. We were thoroughly upset and asked for the check. On the way out Daniel shooed us out of the restaurant stating«we have an A rating and we’re a great restaurant, you can leave now.» This ruined our celebration. We had family members dining with us that cam over an hour and a half to be there and our experience was ruined. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, nor will we be recommending your institution in the future. Had your manager, Daniel, been a little apologetic, we probably would have stayed a while longer, had more drinks, coffee and desserts. But, he ruined the night for us all.

Awesome spot near the water! Food and booze was awesome! The menu is big enough that even the pickiest person can find some good grub. Half of us had sushi and the guys had burgers. Will most def be back to have some of their brick oven pizza

Went to eat with my family and loved it all. The atmosphere, outside dining, good drink selection and the ocean air. Perfect!

I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was one of the best ones I had. It usually comes with potato chips and I switched to sweet potato tots with cinnamon marshmallow dip. The dip is sweet and if you have a sweet tooth it is to die for. My sister had a veggie burger and raved about it. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is quite noisy and the waiter took a while to acknowledge us.

Decent food as a matter of fact pretty good for bar food. Nice to sit outside in the back. Sangria was just ok but pizza was better than just ok. Will return.

Went today for lunch with friends. Place has outdoor seating in front on Ocean Ave, huge indoor seating with great ambiance and outdoor seating in the back. We sat in the back. Our only complaint was that there are these huge dumpsters in plain view and the water was kind of far. Per our server, who provided excellent service, they had to put dumpsters there and are no longer able to have bacci ball because of town ordinances. We ordered the duck wings and empanadas as appetizers. Duck wings were delicious. We each had a sandwich. They were good. The drinks were very good but a little expensive. Would definitely go back and try the pizza.

Stopped in for lunch today. Service was great. Coal fired pizza made with quality ingredients was awesome. As good or better than some of Brooklyn ’ finast pizza makers. Chili was good as well. Definitely be back here soon. God selection of tap beer. Rum bucket was expensive but made well.

Got here early on a Saturday night and we were able to choose inside or outside seating with no wait. Decided to sit inside in one of the big U shaped booths. We had a good view of several TVs with a few different sporting events on. The menu has a lot to choose from. A variety of different pizzas, lots of appetizers, and a good selection of IPAs on tap. I went with a pizza based on other Unilocal reviews and it was very good. The«Guiseppe» had sweet Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, hot cherry peppers, and mozzarella. My wife got the buffalo chicken salad which she enjoyed. The portion was large. One of the kids ordered penne with tomato sauce which was served cold. Had it not been for this and the fact that the waiter disappeared when we wanted the check and then again when we waited for him to take our card I would have given it 4 stars. We will definitely try it again.

I don’t know why there are any poor reviews(although I only had apps) the wait staff was pleasant, place packed all patrons looked happy, seated quickly ordered Mozzarella and Tomatoes, Nacho’s and Meatballs all were huge! Good(especially the meat balls, I think someones grandma might be chained up in the kitchen) food came out super fast and was fresh I definitely would go back and the apps are huge!!! Left half of it behind and only because I couldn’t eat another bite!!!

Me and my family love this place. The food is great, the atmosphere is comfortable. Highly recommend eating here if you are looking for somewhere to eat, especially if you’re not from around here. I see that the reviews are not great, but I was reading the bad reviews and saw that the bad reviews were about experiences with the bar/bartender. I’ve never been to the bar, but me and my familys experience at the restaurant is always fantastic! Also i highly recommend the wings

I would normally give 2 stars for this experience but their computer systems were down so I’ll throw on an extra star and assume that’s why the service was so slow. Went in for lunch and were there for almost an hour and 40 mins! Way too long for lunch. Place is cool and outdoor seating looks great even though it was full. Food was OK. The wings had good flavor but were more like a chicken entrée then wings. They are smothered in onions and aren’t really easy to eat with your hands or a fork! Also, they have an Italian flavor to them and were served with blue cheese and buffalo dipping sauces. The combination just didn’t work at all. We ordered the short rib pizza special. It said it came with truffle oil. We were almost finished with it when we realized we didn’t taste the truffle at all. Overall it was OK but when the check came I saw it was $ 20. It was a small 12“pie and not worth $ 20. BTW I only look at prices when something wasn’t good so take that for what it’s worth. Finally, we split a burger and asked for it medium rare. When it came it had a toothpick in it that said medium. No big deal to me if it was medium but when I cut it in half it was wayyyyy over cooked. It was definitely well done. No pink at all. It pretty much ruined it. Problem was that the server was nowhere to be found and it took so long to come we just let it go. Again, I cut the waiter some slack because the computers were down and everyone seemed frazzled, he seemed like a good guy. Will definitely try again and keep my fingers crossed.

This is the second time we have been here and other than the wait, the experience was great. The grilled wings are delish as well as the tuna tartare! The soup of the day was potatoe leek and was a creamy creation. And we also ordered the pizza with broccoli rabe and Italian long hits… just perfect. The way they let you know your table is ready via text is convenient as well as the suggested app.

Had yet another great lunch here at Tommy’s. I chose the Tuna Wrap which was delicious & huge. Again, the waitress was nice enough to let us eat in the back so we could keep an eye on our dogs. I wish I could remember her name because she was wonderful. This is my new go to place after hiking Sandy Hook.

I’ve been there 3 or 4 times including opening weekend and last night. It had a rough start operationally but they’ve pulled it together. It has a lively feel to it and big comfortable bar with lots of table seating. It attracts families, singles and older adults so it has a nice mix. I gravitate toward places touting good beer selections and I’ve been pretty content so far. They had a stout tap takeover going on last night which was a bonus. And for any other bar owners hesitating to tap a high octane expensive keg the goose island bourbon county kicked in 3 days( ) Food is tavern type but well done. Also, haven’t been yet but looking forward to trying happy hour which is supposed to be reasonably priced. Ordinarily a burger and 2 beers is about $ 30.

According to the website: HAPPYHOURMONDAYTHROUGHTHURSDAY3−6PM: . Not the deal Happy Hour after 4pm so do not show up prior to 4pm. Make sure and wait till 4:05pm to order happy hour drink because if its 3:59:58 they will charge you full price. Other than that place is cool, just all about them and not you. Watch your wallet and hopefully in the next year or two they will update their website to reflect the real HH deals. Cheers.

My family and I miss the Tommy’s that closed in Ocean Township. When we passed this restaurant on our way to Sandy Hook, we were curious to see if this was part of the same family of restaurants and whether or not it had our favorites(FYI: yes to both!) We arrived just before 6:00 pm on a Friday. The(gravel) parking lot was nearly full already. We were seated immediately but people arriving after us had a wait. My teen had the cream of chicken soup which was in a large bowl and served with bread. We shared the garlic cheese bread(think cheese pizza without the red sauce with olive oil and garlic cut into strips). Very tasty. We shared a large Della Valle(not sure if I got the name 100% correct). It was good, but I prefer their plain pepperoni(Tommy’s has the Best pepperoni pizza in Monmouth County)! My spouse enjoyed the IPA sampler. The restaurant was much larger than it appeared from the outside. There was a large bar dominated by television screens. The restaurant was noisy but not so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. Other reviewers have complained about the service but we received superlative service. I recommend it.

I see the previous reviews and I have to say it’s very much improved as far as the service. We got our food pretty quick. The food was delicious and very generous with the portions. The meatball appetizer was very good, along with the wings. The Hawaii roll was very good. Lobster roll was very good as well. Everything we ate was very tasty. The place is huge and plenty of space and right off the water inlet. Just across is the beach. If you are in the area stop in and try it.

I want to like the place and plan to go back to give it another chance. BUT– as of today, based on my visit and experience, this place is a 2. I hope to update my review in the future. I’ve been waiting for this place to open. I want to believe it’ll get better. But the truth is, the bartenders are confused and it’s either that people are not communicating or they don’t know what they’re doing, because no one was on the same page. Called the place from the beach to ask if there’s happy hour. Answer from person answering phone: yes, it’s always happy here! Happy hour specials start at 4pm and we also have half priced pizzas! So, we showed up @4& sat at bar. I love a happy hour. I inquire what the happy hour specials are and the confused bartender says no happy hour. She confirms with a manager who at first says it should be happy hour but then decides/realizes there’s no happy hour. Like what? So then we ask about the pizza… aaaannd no half priced pizzas either! Did the person who answered the phone earlier lie to us? And it said half priced pizza pies on their website! The manager said it hadn’t started yet. It’s on Wednesdays but not THIS one. We purposely came at 4 at the supposed start of happy hour to enjoy(and save money) at a happy hour & get a pie! Ridiculous. I know this place just opened, but get it together! So, no specials except half price sangria which was also advertised on the website and actually true. We ordered a plain medium cheese pizza for $ 12 and two sangrias. Pizza was great– good sauce and good flavor. Our check came and the check did not reflect the half price sangria special. We had to point that out and then the bartender fixed it. Sangria was good for half price($ 4.50). Not worth $ 9 full price though. I am giving 2 stars because of the pizza and because they had hooks and outlets under the bar(positives). Too much confusion and inconsistencies to earn anything otherwise. I hope management, bartenders, phone answerers, and owners start communicating better and figure out that what they tell people on the phone, advertise on the website, and tell customers in person once they’re there, should be consistent and correct information.
