local customer. have been a moderate fan of the pizza and mozz sticks for a while. more or less, it’s how boardwalk style crap pizzas should be. think Mack & Manco but crispier. to the reviewer who said best pizza on the island, first of all, that’s not something to be proud of in SIC as it has always been a race to the bottom, but there are pizzas that are definitely better quality than Phil’s. it’s just sometimes you like junk food«italian» and this is the place. i was promoting it for a few years to others around here as a nice change up from the norm, an indulgence. like getting McDonald fries. outside of the pizza and the mozz sticks, other menu items are very average to below average. not impressed at all. in fact, quite disappointing. people working there are very nice on the surface, but they will show their true colors. give it time. last time i was there, which was the first day they opened this year before being open full time for the summer, i ordered some pies and some other things and while i was getting my change, i asked for a cup of ice for my pregnant wife. she took a quarter out of the change she was handing me. so i just spent a fortune on your overpriced junk food, as a repeat customer and local… and you felt it necessary to bang me for another quarter? no thanks. have not been back since. not worth it based solely on principle. go back to PA, Phil. take your crew with you. good riddance.

Best pizza on the island! Been coming to sea isle for years always in search of a «goto» pizza place. Well, I found it! Not sure about these other reviews but this is the best pizza in Sea Isle.

Well, Phils came through on a holiday weekend on Sat. night when my planned dinner for 8 had to be thrown away when a plate of grilled chicken broke in half which landed on a glass of wine which went flying so glass was everywhere! We called somewhere else but were put on hold for so long we gave up. Phils said our order would be ready in 20 min and so it was. The pizza was hot and by that time we were more than hungry. There was 8 of us so we probably could have used more than 2 large.

Probably the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’m in Sea Isle every summer and I can’t believe this is the first year I’ve discovered it. I was down there last week and probably went in 3⁄6 days I was in Sea Isle. I don’t know what it is, but its unlike any pizza I’ve ever had. I hate that I have to wait til next summer for more! lol

Despite some of the bad reviews, we ordered a large order from here. They said 20mins and it was ready in 20mins, exactly how we ordered it, with a thank you from the people working as we were leaving. You are welcome!

Great pizza and other items like the stromboli and the sandwich menu. Prices are reasonable and the pizza is one of the best in sea isle. Easy to get in and out of the lot for pickups and the y do turn an order around super quick. Worth giving the pizza a shot for sure.

Sorry idk what these awful reviews are for. I have been going to sea isle for a few years now, and never thought to go here from looking at bad reviews… We drunkenly stumbled upon this place Saturday night, around 2 maybe? And we all had a slice, and at first we thought the food was amazing just because we were starving, it was fast, the people were friendly. So my fiancé, and friends go get a pie, and they met the owner and was very nice, and almost was there for an hour just making conversations. And the pizza was even better than we imagined! Basically idk what all these horrible reviews are for. this place rules!

Worst service ever!!! The pizza wasn’t horrible, but the service is. After royally screwing up our order I was yelled at and treated like garbage. Since they get your money up front and deal primarily with people from out of town they get away with this. There are much better places to get pizza so please don’t give these frauds your business. We didn’t check reviews because my mom grew up here and used to love this place, she hasn’t been back to sea isle city in Over 20 years and Phil’s is now officially NOT the best pizza around!!! Good luck and enjoy New Jersey.

I used to come to Phil’s in the earlier days and then for one reason or another the family decided to rent the building to another establishment(who I will not mention). I’m glad to say Phil’s has now returned and they are better than ever. Their pizza is not to thick or too thin and is NOTGREASY. Their cheese steaks are toasted to perfection and again not greasy! The buffalo chicken cheese steaks are grilled chunks of chicken breast, not processed chicken steak. The service was fast and friendly. They even custom made a sandwich for me that was not even on their menu. I recommend Phil’s to anyone in the mood for sandwiches or pizza!

Double dough pizza is the best! Stopped in with the family after a busy day in WildWood. Fast, friendy service. Best pizza in SIC…

I wanted to like this place since it was close to our house. We stopped at the pick up window and ordered 2 slices of pizza on our way back home. I paid and tipped the counter girl but when I asked for oregeno and hot peppers to sprinkle on the slices, she said they were out of them! That was the epitome of laziness on her part. I’ll keep walking by in the future, good luck with that type of service.

The most bland eggplant Parmesan sub I have ever had. Friendly woman at counter but the man who was maybe the owner was rude. Won’t be back.

My kids and I ate there twice. The first night for dinner the food was pretty good. The second time we had lunch. My daughter didn’t care for the pizza, no biggie. I ordered an Italian hoagie. Much to my horror when it came to the table there was chunks of a diced pickle on it. Pickles? On an Italian hoagie? Absolutely ruined my sandwich. I realize this is just my opinion, but pickles on a hoagie? In my 46 years and many, many hoagies, I have never encountered this. Is this a Jersey Shore thing? The other strange thing here is that you order first at the counter, then they give you a number, and then your order is delivered to the table. There is a nice little sign with a «tipping» suggestion. My suggestion is that they don’t get as much of a tip if they only do half the job of a normal server. My biggest complaint, and this is not just for Phil’s, but for a lot of places at the shore only cash is accepted. It’s very convenient(sneaky, actually) that there is always an ATM right there. Imagine the percentage that the store owner recieves from every ATM transaction. When I am at the shore I prefer to use the credit card and carry a minimum of cash. Don’t even begin to rant to me about the increased cost associated with credit purchases. I just don’t like carrying a lot of cash. Another posting mentioned no slices during dinner hours? Really? In a shop that is called Phil’s Famous PIZZA? Lame, with a capital L. If true, that would be like a water ice stand not having water ice because they are busy. I would go to Phil’s again if I were in the area. It’s nothing great, nothing terrible. Just bring plenty of cash and always be sure to ask about what you’re ordering.

The owner of the place — you’ll recognize his raccoon-looking hair piece right away — is a truly awful person. I’ve stopped by there a number of times over the years on the way back from the beach, and he never ceases to amaze me with how rude he is to his patrons. For example, yesterday a woman brought her 4 year old son in to use the restroom. He started arguing with her and told her to take her business elsewhere, otherwise she had to buy something to use the restroom. I understand not wanting a bunch of people wondering in off the street to use the facilities, but the kid was 4! And it was almost as if he took pleasure in bullying the woman into buying a $ 1 water. Justifiably, I’m certain that the women will take her business elsewhere, as will I. DeNunzio’s is very close by, and quite better anyway(especially the sauce).

This place is bad. Went with the family for the first time in a few years. Phil’s used to be really good, but I think new owners took it over a few years ago. Chicken isn’t real. They use chicken patties instead of real chicken breast. Soooo gross!!! Also the only pizza place in the country where you cant order a single slice of pizza ! Can you believe that??? I’ll never go again.
