Stopped in looking for a used board. The shop was great and the service even better i left with everything i needed to get my little boy ready to catch his first wave and he did even if it was on his belly. He is only five

I’ve been to this place a few times, Mike was very easy going and helpful in giving advice and taking into account your needs/​cost. I found pretty much everything I needed, from leashes, custom boards to lessons. They also have some skateboard gear/​attair. I would definately recommend stopping in even if your just passing thru town. Theres even some good places to grab a bite next door.

I took a surf lesson with a bunch of others with Zapstix and I had a lot of fun considering the conditions were less than ideal. I didn’t use their wetsuit since I’ve got my own but they had some nice boards and have a bagel shop right next to the water which acts as astaging area for the staff, changing clothes, and getting a quick bite or drink in. The staff was great with a very chill and laid back attitude. The lesson ($ 30) was about an hour with plenty of practice time afterwards. There were about 7 of us with one instructor so one-​on-​one time was a bit short but the important thing for me was to get more practice time on the waves.

This is a fly establishment. There was a minor technical snafu in my transaction but the cat who i think is the owner was cool about it and his staff gave me free stickers for the trouble.
Decent selection of boards, wetsuits, swim shorts and street apparel. Some skate stuff too.

I finally enjoyed checking out this store as my friend forgot to bring his swimsuit! He bought a pair of Quiksilver board shorts that were nice looking.
The store is on my way to Hampton/​North Beach, so it was convenient, and it was great to break up the commute with the traffic.
I didn’t end up getting anything, but I perused through the store, and saw a few threads from my friend’s roommate’s company. There were a few items I wanted, but I figured I will be there again soon to really spend time to look and try things on.
They have surf lessons for $ 45 for an hour — includes wetsuit and board, and they also make custom boards per requests.
The store is simple and lots of goods in a more cramped space. Employee was nice and very helpful!
