Rite Aid

I go there to get a money order and girl tells me they don’t do them. I told her I come in every month to get one to pay my storage. She calls the manager and she tells me that this location never has been set up to do them. I told her I come in every month to get one and rudely tells me they’ve never done them at this location. Worst manager ever

WOW!!! Not in a good way. Customer service was not at it’s finest today. We strolled in to get some ice cream, as we tend to do from time to time. We were slightly greeted by the first cashier, who was helping another customer but took time to say hello. As we walked past the registers we said hello to one of the managers (a female, hispanic /​latina) and politely asked her to please call someone over to the ice cream section. She responded in a rude manner, «someone’s already there». Not a «hello» or a «how are you?» just a cold dismissive remark. Hardly the standard that should be expected in Seal Beach. My work takes me often to Los Angeles county and this is the level of service I have come to expect over there, but not here.
Then to make matters more unpleasant, the person (because gentleman is a term unbecoming this person) over at the ice cream section has his back turned to us as he is washing something down. Naturally, and as a courtesy we wait patiently. He does not acknowledge us at all. after a while he seems perturbed that we are there and walks over to put gloves on to serve us. again, not a «hello» or a courteous greeting. Only a gruff «how can i help you?». Might as well have said «Why are you bothering me?». My wife and i placed our order. we thanked him when he handed us our ice cream, and received no reply. At no time did he even make eye contact. he simply rang up the order, and walked away barking at the next customer. I even had to take the receipt off the register myself.
Even though we were disappointed with the service, as we walked out I looked over to the manger and said ’ Thank you” to which, under her voice and without bothering to make eye contact, she muttered, under her breath, «enjoy your day» but in a tone that made me feel that she was being forced to do it.
Now, I have worked in and trained others in Customer Service for decades. You don;t treat people like this. Especially customer bringing you their business. I had to say something because again, this is Seal Beach, not the ghetto. People deserve to be treated in a better way. I don’t mean treated like kings and queens, but at least with the decorum and courtesy that we have come to expect living in this wonderful neighborhood.

These five stars are for the customer service I’ve consistently from Alan, a Rite-​Aid employee who is definitely an asset to the store. I am a single parent working full time along with sole custody of my two-​year-​old daughter and we live within walking distance. I have dragged myself into this store barely functional looking all kinds of crazy from a exhausting day or with a tired toddler ready to throw a tantrum at any random moment. Every time Alan has helped us (and I purposely include my daughter) he’s been extremely kind, acknowledges how exhausting this phase can be as a fellow parent and makes my shopping experience a bit easier without me having to ask. I always walk out of the store feeling a bit more uplifted thanks to his efforts so I wanted to publicly acknowledge my daughter and I both appreciate his excellent customer service.

This isn’t about Rite Aid … But I’m thankful that Rite Aid has kept Thrifty Ice Cream!
I remember my first time I had Thrifty Ice Cream: it was a whole .10 for one scoop! Hahahhahaa. Take that youngbloods! We had it great back in the days and so great it was: P
The choice was playing a video game (Pac Man/​Donkey Kong/​Dig Dug/​Centipede) or having a double scoop… Lol … I was great at all four games plus figured out how to get 99 credits with one quarter… so please hold my Thrifty Ice Cream cause I’m gonna be playing all day: D
Ok so Thrifty Ice Cream has been in my system literally since I can remember, they’ve had new flavors introduced as many have also been retired. It you never had a scoop, meet me at the counter and I’ll buy you a cone like my picture below: D

AMAZING STORE! I’m very surprised to see crappy reviews on here about this store. I went today and it is GORGEOUS! everyone in the pharmacy was super helpful and very very nice from start to finish. The customer service was much appreciated considering I was so sick. Every aisle is loaded with yellow sale tags, so many great savings in every area! The beer was about as cheap as Walmart or Costco. They have ORGANIC MILK, tons of snacks, camping gear, baby products, makeup, even some clothes. They even sell OPI nail polish– that’s huge for a pharmacy store. I live in the area and I cannot believe I have not been coming to this location more often. BEST RITE-​AID EVER! This will definitely be my new go-​to store!

Beautiful store! Beautiful pharmacy! Ugly attitude from the pharmacy tech. Didn’t get his name, he is the chubby punk with the pompadour style hair. He needs to dip into some of the mood altering drugs to help eliviat his Piss Poor Demeanor! Going to CVS !

Bit disappointed in this Rite Aid, noticed they had rounded my change up without asking for a charity of some sort. Checked my receipt from a week earlier and low and behold it was done there as well. Essentially whenever I used my rite aid wellness card I was rounded up.
Having never signed up nor asked about donating I find it a bit sneaky this store started doing it. Check your receipts!
Apart from that this store is fine despite it being completely ridiculous how many pharmacies are within a 10 mile radius. I typically avoid these stores like the plague but the ice cream is a plus.

The new store is clean and spacious feeling, and we’ve always had excellent customer service. And yummy ice cream!
I wanted to review b/​c of the service I received from the pharmacy. My 5 YO son was sick and needed needed antibiotics, but he is terrible at taking the liquid meds. After an hour long battle with the first dose I called and spoke to a lady pharmacist (I wish I could remember her name) who was so kind and patient. She gave me several ideas of things to try and even offered to contact the dr’s office FOR me (she could have just said why don’t you call the dr) to see if we could try a pill form. I’m very happy with this Rite Aid.

Terrible customer service. Usually I’m not one to complain but the cashier was jus plain rude. I bought an item that had a big bright yellow sign saying it was 6.99. Got to the register and it rang up as 7.99. Now I it was only a dollar and I would’ve let it go but I wanted to make point because she insisted it was not on sale. She told me 4 times «no» it is 7.99. Now I used to work in retail management and the customer isn’t always right but treat them like they are. I had to walk back to get the sale tag and show her the price and wait in line again and still did not get a apology. Did not speak to the mgr. Cuz I would not want anyone to get in trouble but if it happens again I will speak to him/​her. Hopefully he reads this and re trains certain employees

This location is a brand new Rite Aid. I am amazed at how big and clean it is. I come here quite often since I work nearby. The service here is always above and beyond from the greetings when you walk in to your check out.
There is always plenty of staff around if you have any questions or need help finding anything. I also pick up my prescriptions here at the pharmacy and I have always had a good experience. The pharmacist has always been very knowledgeable and friendly.
Come on by for some delicious Thifty’s Ice Cream on those hot sunny days! YUM.

I love that Thrifty opened an ice cream parlor inside this store. I hadnt seen one since I was a lil girl. The single cones are only $ 1.79. I love the square shaped ice cream scoop. The butter pecan and mint chocolate chip are amazing! Hands down the best ice cream ever!

I am visiting from Northern California and went there on Saturday, 8−23−14 to get some over-​the-​counter medication for my 91 year old mother who lives nearby. It was about 6 :30 P.M. I looked along the rows of medications for about 15 minutes and finally located 2 employees stocking shelves and asked them about the medication I was searching for. Both told me they had heard of it but that the Pharmacist had left at 6:00
and they could not help me. I was astonished, needless to say! I own a small winery in Napa Valley and if myself or my employees ever responded to a customer in that way, I guarantee I would not have a business for long.

This Rite Aid does not know how to do returns. I know you just opened but Train your people!

This is by far the best Rite Aid I have ever been in before. Everytime I walk in I am greeted by several different people with a «Welcome to Rite Aid». So nice, lots of items to choose from, easy in and out. Check it out, you will be amazed… you won’t even know you were inside a Rite Aid. And of course the ice cream is the best!

Beautiful! Much improved from their previous location down the street. Big hanging signs to make it easy to find things. Drive-​thru pharmacy. Best part of all… Thrifty ice cream counter!
I hope they can keep it like this! Since they just opened this week, I shall update if things change…

This has been one of the best pharmacy experiences I’ve had so far. The pharmacists and techs are always helpful, attentive and thorough. They just relocated to a location down the street, and the store is huge! But the staff are still very kind and helpful. And now they have the ice cream stand in the store!

I moved from Gardena to Los Alamitos and had to transfer my prescriptions. I got on the phone with ‘Kelly’ at the pharmacy. She asked for my phone # and was able to get my prescriptions transferred in a flash. Kelly was very friendly and helpful. This request couldn’t have gone smoother. It was a great experience. I look forward to doing business with my new Rite Aid in Los Alamitos.

I’ve actually gone to this location a few more times than I’ve actually shopped here. Sometimes the parking lot is so bad, it’s easier to drive way down the road to Target than wait for parking.
Although it’s a small location, they still seem to have at least one of what I’m looking for even if its not the brand I want.
