Starlight Motel

The place is clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the place across the street «Barnacle Bills» is owned by a an inconsiderate moron. At 7:30 am he uses a gas powered blower to clean his parking area. It is impossible to talk, sleep or just sit outside for some peace and quiet. The racket that he makes should be an ordinance violation. So rude and obnoxious. For the 3 days we stayed here this annoyance started every morning at 7:30 and went in for an hour.

Checked in to a motel room, 2 adults and 2 kids. Way too small and felt like a dark cave. We were tripping over our luggage to get to the bathroom. The bathroom was so small, I felt like I was on a cruise ship. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Immediately asked to move to a suite. We had to wait til the next day, and moved to a small suite. It was a breath of fresh air with ample room for our family. The real bonus was the washer/​dryer. Didn’t use the washer, but I was able to throw our towels in the dryer every day. The kids had a ball in the pool, and the location one block from beach and directly across the street from Barnacle Bills (arcade, mini golf, café, ice cream) was very convenient. It was also quiet in the morning and we were able to sleep in. Also, the man who works there is very sweet and helpful. Recommended for families if you choose a suite… do not go with the motel room.

Stayed there Memorial Day weekend. The suites are very clean. Has a washer and dryer, dishwasher, nice size living room, kitchen, and bedroom with 2 full size beds. It was perfect for a quick getaway for a family of 5. I have a 5 yr old 6 yr old and 18 month old. Very family friendly atmosphere and attracts family crowd. Only one block to the beach and everything is pretty much walking distance. It’s more of an apartment feel then a hotel. Owners were great too! Definately would recommend.

Great motel, very spacious 1 bedroom suite with full size frig, big table, washer/​dyer, lovely bathroom. The owners are great people, but some of the people who work the front desk need to learn a little bit of customer service and respect for others. Frankly, Michelle at the front desk needs to be a bit more polite to others!

When searching for a place to stay in the Seaside Heights and Ortley beach area, all I could find were motels with horrible reviews on other sites. I stumbled across the Starlight Motel and am so happy I did. The motel is in a great location. Steps away from a free beach and a 15 minute walk to the boardwalk. The luxury room which included a kitchenette and living room area was clean and large. It is family friendly. The people behind the desk were also very welcoming.
