Saw some of the other reviews before going there early today. Whatever the truth of it was, the store is now under new ownership and still has a great selection with«a bit of everything» and lots of some things. For art and crafting needs, you definitely should check this place out, whether you’re a local or a visitor. They had exactly what we needed to make up for my wife’s «packing omission» when we headed to Seaside for the week. The story has a wonderful open feel, and the new owner was welcoming but not intrusive — struck a sometimes difficult balance well!

I was surprised to read less-than positive reviews of this place. I love it. I live in Seattle and vacation in Long Beach, and drive south to restock on unique colors of baby alpaca wool here. Visiting a store geared to a hobby like knitting, I wouldn’t expect extroverted service, but instead appreciate the knowledge and choices of the buyer and there is plenty to laud here. Even with my big city selections, this place always has something unusual and beautiful to add to my yarn basket. Thank you!(meow!)

Wow, what a grump!!! We were on the hunt for coffee and stopped in here as they have a coffee cart in addition to yarn, beads and misc art supplies. Their cat is friendly and fabulous, hence 2 stars, but the shop owner is easily the biggest curmudgeon in town. She was rude, ill-tempered and snappy… perhaps that’s why her shop is empty despite what looked like a solid selection? Making matters worse, she served me the wrong drink(latte rather than mocha) and super bitter at that. Definitely a very poor start to our week away.

I love this place and go in whenever I’m in Seaside. There are lots of yummy yarns, beads, scrapbooking supplies and books. It’s well-lighted and has a very friendly staff which includes a very friendly cat! There’s even an espresso bar and a couch in front of a warm fireplace where you can sit and knit and/or drink your latté. The yarn selection is excellent; one of the things I especially like is that there are lots of knitted samples so that you can see what yarns look like knitted up. I’ve bought beads, paper, yarn and greeting cards here and have never been disappointed. Prices are slightly higher than in the general Portland area, but that’s to be expected in a small town, and I don’t mind supporting local businesses like this one. The staff is very willing to help with projects. Parking is easy, and it’s easy to spend hours in the shop. Highly recommended!
