Had breakfast here this morning with my husband during a road-trip… AMAZING! Might be the best breakfast experience I have ever had. Service and food A++++ Thank you Elderberry Inn :)

Have been driving by this place for a long time and always saw a lot of cars. We decided to stop for lunch on the way back from the coast and GLAD we did. The Nellie Burger is the bomb. The waitress was darling and super friendly. We loved it so much we went back for breakfast a week later and was equally impressed. The food is consistently good. Don’t drive by… next time stop, you will not be disappointed.

Not impressed Stopped here one evening on our way to seaside to grab a quick bite & let the kids get out of the car. We were the only customers in the restaurant. The place was freezing cold so much that we controls yes getting the food to go & eating in the car. We had burgers they were pretty good but the French fries were skinny crispy and overlooked. The tater tots had been in the fryer too long. We paid $ 5.95 for a kids meal that was absolutely nothing special again tots & chicken strips were over cooked & hard. Next time we will travel the extra 6 miles to camp 18.

This restaurant seems to change owners every few years so you never know what you’re going to get. But over the decades it has been a regular stop for us when coming back from the coast. The food is generally pretty good. Excellent service. Fair prices. You won’t leave hungry.

Stopped for a salad and met expectations. Service was friendly and the new owners are young and being entrepreneurial. Love they are giving it a go and will come back to support them!

A fairly horrible experience overall. We sat down in the restaurant area and the waitress immediately began harassing us for ID. She made two long trips out of the room for each ID separately and then after that demanded we tell her the date we were born. All for some bud light. I ordered a pork chop and my bf ordered a chicken fried steak. The food wasn’t seasoned and looked like it was cooked in motor oil. It barely tasted like food at all. We also got complimentary dinner rolls that the waitress forgot to bring until later but they were cold and hard. I nibbled one and put it back. It was the only food we had for dinner and we both woke up in the middle of the night and had to vomit. I wouldn’t go so far as to cry food poisoning, but I’d be crazy not to think that this had something to do with it. We are never coming back.

Under new management. This place used to be a classic that my family would praise with the highest regard. However apparently, this new management style has left out respect, quality, and good food. Our waitress was condescending, slow, and she haggled with me about the age on my driver’s license. Who does that? That’s even after she swiped it for verification. The process of ordering one of their crappy beers took longer than the drive there. Beef patties are not interchangeable with steak, but that’s what I got in my chicken fried steak. Yet it was like $ 15. I’m ashamed for these new managers who have absolutely ruined a historical and landmark restaurant.

This place gets 4 stars for great service and decent food. I ordered bacon cheeseburgers with tots and a cup of chowder. The bacon was really good and the rest was satisfactory. Chowder was very tasty. Nice crispy tots. We were with a group that included 5 young kids. Our waitress was great and was able to anticipate their needs. We really couldn’t ask for more attentive and thoughtful service.

If this restaurant were in a big city it would probably just be us three or four star restaurant but compared to other restaurants in the area it’s definitely five stars. It’s basically an older sort of beat up restaurant with a bar. So we were not sure what the food was going to be like. We got seated immediately. Service was very friendly and very prompt. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a small chef salad. The chef salad was huge, I would hate to see what a regular size chef salad would be. it was very tasty and very fresh. The cheeseburger, excuse me bacon cheeseburger, was really pretty good. Just the right size bun. The bacon was done perfectly, nice tasting cheddar cheese. And again lots of fresh vegetables and a tasty sauce. The fries were really good. I think someone else complained about it being a greasy restaurant. We saw no evidence of that. Everything was cooked very well. And midway from Portland to the ocean the lunch was very good and exceeded our expectations. This will definitely be a stop over whenever we come to the ocean.

Drinks are great. Bartender great. Kind of odd walking into a Mossy oak camouflage bar. We felt out of our area. But everyone was nice lol… oh and someone makes bacon roses. not out of real bacon lmao

Grease soaked food. Female cook with poor attitude! Very vocal in customer ear shot. Chicken fried steak had to be wrung out. I walked out. Could not eat.

Let me tell you about this little place we always stop by on the way to the coast. It’s an awesome little place to pull off the road and get some refreshments. It looks like a little diner, which it is. It also has a very lovely lounge area with big booths you can disappear into or you can just saddle up to the bar. My favorite thing every time time I come through there? The two leg chicken meal with mashed potatoes and gravy. If I am coming from the coast? You bet I’m going to starve just to have their chicken meal. When I’m headed to the coast. no secret. I’m waiting until I get to Elderberry for that chicken! The owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I am hoping to see them again soon. The waitress and bartending staff are also some of the nicest you will ever meet. A lot of locals and regulars here but that is cool, everyone gets along. Not too loud and not too quiet. As Goldilocks might have said. «Just right»

Had a great bike ride Vernonia to Jewell and beyond. We made a side trip to Bakers General Store on hwy 26, when I saw the sign for Elderberry Inn. We went in, grubby and obviously cyclists, and my friend slipped behind the counter to grab a menu to see whether there was any berry pie. Busted by a waitress, who instead of scolding, was gracious and pleasant, and told us about the marionberry cobbler and fresh strawberry shortcake. Mmmm. We thoroughly enjoyed both, the service was great, the tab much less than we expected. My only regret is that I did not leave a bigger tip. This is not Portland haute cuisine, but a great place to stop and get that Oregon something, a berry dessert, just what is needed on a long bike ride or on the way home from the beach. The third of our cycling group had a sandwich and chowder, and said that was good too. Our bikes leaned on the railing in front, where we could see them from the window, and were safe and sound. Overall a positive experience.

Literally a road side inn. An excellent stop for a break and a bite on Hwy 26 between Portland and the Oregon coast. Relaxed atmosphere with a friendly and attentive staff. Based on some conversations overheard at the register, looks like this restaurant is also patronized by locals who are regulars. There is a lounge/bar down the hall from the dining area that was bright and clean. The bacon cheeseburger was recommended to me as my waitress’s favorite. Wow. Look at the BACON on the burger. Menu is American diner fare: fried chicken, sandwiches, burgers and hot entrees. All plates I saw going past me looked good. I look forward to stopping at the Elderberry Inn again.

Elderberry Inn is an excellent place to stop when going to or from the Oregon Coast. The restaurant itself consists of basically three rooms: a bar, a diner, and a separate unattached family dining room. You have your choice of where you want to sit. The interior is a little old and worn but Elderberry is a still a very clean and comfortable restaurant. The staff is fantastic. Friendly, enthusiastic, and efficient. They keep the drinks coming and you don’t even have to ask for a refill. The menu is like a reference book of American comfort food. Burgers, chicken fried steak, sandwiches, liver, fish and chips, pasta, steaks and homemade soups. On our visit we tried the chicken alfredo pasta, the fish sandwich, and the navy bean soup. All three dishes were absolutely delicious. Even with drinks our bill came to only $ 26. The proportions are very generous. Elderberry Inn had marionberry pie on special but we couldn’t make it to dessert. We were stuffed to the gills. Elderberry Inn is located along a very busy two lane section of Sunset Highway. Say you’re driving along Highway 26, you’re hungry, the traffic is bumper to bumper, and you want to get out of the rat race to the Oregon Coast. Well, I can think of no finer cure for your hunger and the highway blues than Elderberry Inn.

This is an all-time favorite. We go EB Inn on our way to & from the Coast. We ALWAYS order a Jumbo, sometimes for each of us, sometimes we split it. A Jumbo is a hamburger with fries. It comes with a thin patty, lettuce slivers, sweet pickle relish, mayo, & a little onion on a perfect soft bun. It sounds very common, but to our taste it’s perfect.

Girls beach weekend!!! Stopped at Elderberry Inn on our way down to Manzanita and had us a good old fashioned meal of a garden burger with salad. HA! Thought that a place like that had nothing of the kind right? Well you would be Wrong! And the waitress was charming as ever. You could tell she wanted us to kidnap her so she can join in the fun! My partners in crime ordered fried chicken as the waitress stated — get the thigh and breast. P. S. — Don’t let the address confuse you. It’s really in Elsie which is 25 miles EAST of Seaside but I called them and they said the address is correct.
