The menu has great selection and the service is friendly and prompt. Huevos rancheros was amazing!!! I would definitely recommend highly!

Walked in to be seated right away. I wish everything else was just as fast. There was one server who was running around trying to give the tables the attention we deserved. The food took so long to get to us, I feel like everyone waited forever. The salmon Benedict tasted just like a salt lick

I don’t know why this place isn’t busier. The corned beef was excellent. The service is terrific. It’s not the easiest to get to, but if you are getting work done at the local auto shops, it’s a great place to stop and wait.

We stood there and waited for 5 minutes for someone to come seat is. Then sat at the table for another 5 minutes before anyone came to ask us what we would like to drink. I ordered a hot chocolate and my fiancé ordered a hot chocolate and a Coke we sat there for 10 minutes and watched the man at the take out counter stand there on his phone. We got two hot chocolates but never got the Coke. I ordered a New York steak sandwich and it was very chewy I couldn’t eat most of it. Our waitress walked past us at least 4 times and took stuff from other tables and never said a word to us. She never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. Won’t go back

WORSTSERVICE I HAVEHAD!!! Have gotten better service at Denny’s!!! We walk in the restaurant and nobody is waiting looks fairly slow. What looks like to be the manager is sitting behind the counter on his phone texting. Not acknowledging us… Finally he sees us and seats us at a table… We are then waiting for our waitress… There are 3 waitresses currently working we sat and waited and waited… 15 minutes before a waitress came over to help us… We ordered 2 hot chocolates and a Coke to drink and we ordered our food… We got eggs Benedict, the breakfast sandwich and the New York Steak Sandwich… Wait another 10 minutes we get our hot chocolates. Didn’t get the Coke… We finish our hot chocolates… We see our food go up in the window cook rings the bell… Manager is on his cell phone texting right next to the window… Another waitress is filling up what looks to be hot sauce bottles. Our waitress is walking around for 5 minutes and the cook rings the bell for now a third time and she finally goes and grabs out food. We get our food the steak for the sandwich isn’t cooked properly. And the waitress leaves. I then again ask for a Coke she brings it over a few minutes later. We eat our food… Eggs Benedict was decent the breakfast sandwich was ok… The New York steak sandwich like I said before was under cooked asked for well done got it and it was medium… We finish our food and the next time we see our waitress is when she brings the bill over. Even though I wanted another Coke… And we saw the beniets(not sure if that is spelled correctly) and the apple pie from previous reviews and pics and thought of ordering when we first got here but after the service we got we just wanted to get out of there. Maybe it was a bad day for the waitress or they just have a case of the lazy Sunday’s but we drove an hour to come try this place out and probably won’t be back because of the customer service… The manager came over after and took $ 7 off our $ 53 bill… We see the great reviews and were really disappointed with the service. I would really hate to see this place when they are busy.

The scuba class I was going to assist in decided to cancel once we all met this morning at 7:30 due to the rain but mostly due to the surf level at San Carlos State Beach aka Breakwater in the diving community this morning so while still wearing my dry suit(just damp from rain, hadn’t been in the bay) I sauntered in here for breakfast and the charming young hostess didn’t bat an eye that I could tell and said pick any table. I’ve had late lunches here a few times while getting my air tanks refilled at a nearby dive shop when on my way home post dives so this was my first breakfast here. I had the calamari steak and eggs. This was a great friend calamari steak, nicely breaded but not at all greasy or with excess butter dripping off it like I often get. The waitress was attentive, prompt and quickly brought water when I requested it and my other ancillary requests such as V8 juice and coffee.

Today I came with my boyfriend and his mom to lunch. The menu had a wide variety of great sandwiches and pastas, it was really hard for all three of us to choose. Eventually, we decided on our menu items and ordered. Our waitress was super friendly and took care of us. I ended up getting the chicken pesto sandwich, my boyfriend had ordered the carbonara, and my boyfriend’s mom got the portobello mushroom sandwich. From what I read from the reviews, my expectations were a bit higher than blindly going in but we were all impressed with everything we had! The sandwiches were amazing and the pasta was incredible. We all agreed that we’d definitely come back again soon to try our second choices!

Stopped in for quick bite. What a supriZe the place is. I had fish and chips under recommendation from the server. It was delicious My son had kid burger and fries. What can I say it was a kid burger. Over all feel is warm and comforting. A nice way to spend some the evening after a day of work or the beach. The menu looked good with many good choices. I will come back Came back for more. Dinner was really good.

Cute little spot! We had coffee, California Benedict and breakfast burrito. Everything was fresh and delicious, service was great and we can’t wait to go back and try something off the lunch menu.

Excellent restaurant, family friendly with a great kid’s menu. We had the stuffed sea bass and the seafood risotto, both specials. Yum! Great décor – Google the name«Googie.» It’s an architectural reference. Not very noisy and easy to get a table on a Saturday night. Easy walk from Embassy Suites! We will return next time!

Came in with the family to try for the first time. Place was pretty empty. Got sat right away, but overall service was extremely slow. Only one waitress/hostess in the whole place. Ordered a burger. Was surprisingly good. Cooked to order. Fries were very good and you get a lot. Onion rings were very good. Food here is overpriced and not a good place on a budget. I didn’t like the waitress favoring other guests dining at the same time as us. Giving out free food and saying it was«on her». What about the rest of us? Thought it was tacky and felt her personality was very phony. For the high prices and waitress not being the greatest makes me really not want to come back.

When driving from San Jose to Big Sur we stopped here to get a bite for breakfast/brunch… Delicious. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it was very very good. Tortillas topped with black beans, eggs(your choice), ranchero sauce, cheese avocado and sour cream… Just like the pictures on Unilocal show. My counter part ordered the corn beef hash and he was also very satisfied. The corn beef was traditional bite size corn beef chunks(a little salty but expected with corn beef) mixed with potatoes, peppers topped with eggs(your choice) and hollandaise sauce. His also came with toast… And some really good blackberry(maybe?!?) jelly. Both meals were very generous size portions. Unfortunately, we didn’t order the much raved about beignets… We were just too full. The décor is chic and the seating is pretty open(a couple of divisions of seating divided by large glass windows. The service was ok… We had a few different people come by so I’m not sure if that is typical or just the day we were in. But all in all they made sure we were satisfied and our beverages were filled and warm. Two thumbs up.

It’s a good lunch option for Seaside. It’s a bit pricey for lunch but it’s a decent place for sit down lunch. The service was good. The place is clean and well lit. The décor is warm and inviting. I had the French dip sandwich. The au jus was tasty. The bread was fresh but the meat was over cooked. Overall our party of four agreed that the food was fresh and of good quality.

Visited this restaurant twice this week once for a solo lunch and today for breakfast with my family. My lunch visit was very nice it was quiet so I received very attentive service. My food could have been better and has in previous visits, I had the fish and chips. They were a bit soggy for my liking which was not the previous experience that I had with this dish but the service was great no complaints. This morning on the other hand was a horrible experience. Hostess was friendly and sweet to my baby. Server on the other hand obviously did not want to serve a family with a 1 yr old because once she took our order she proceeded to ignore our table. We ordered a kids fruit cup for our baby and she enjoyed the strawberries(there were only two, everything else was melons and blackberries). We attempted to stop her several times to ask for more and refills but she ignored us, it did seem as though she was the only server for the restaurant but not my problem. Once we received the additional strawberries and refills we were over it and ready to go. The check arrived and she charged us for an additional fruit cup! So ridiculous, needless to say we will be taking our business elsewhere in the future. It’s sad because the food was great but a poor service experience can ruin future visits.

I had the Lamb Shank special. They gave me a knife but I don’t need it. It was so tender the meat pulled off the bone with a gentle touch. The gravy was rich with out being too heavy. The vegetables were nicely sautéed without becoming soggy but were still tender. For desert I had the apple pie and coffe. If you are ever out this way you can’t go wrong stopping in for a bite.

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed this place. It was deadsville at 1:00pm so the service was very attentive. The man was very friendly and kind. My fiancé ordered a burger with Swiss cheese and mushrooms which was giant! He couldn’t finish the whole thing and thats saying a lot considering he is a big guy and eats a lot. He got it with onion rings(which I enjoyed stealing a few). I ordered the chicken caesar salad which I enjoyed although it may have had a bit too much dressing for my taste. The inside was nicer than I expected, I think we were both thinking it would be like a diner but it was actually pretty cool inside. Everything looks pretty new and they were festively decorated for fall.

2.5 Stars Decided to take my granny here for lunch a few weeks ago since I had such a solid experience the first time This time around we ordered the Fish & Chips and Pasta Carbonara Fish & Chips was over fried and underseasoned but the fries were still solid. Truly disappointed by the inconsistency Pasta Carbonara was super bland and could barely taste the pancetta although portion of pasta was decent and cooked well. Garlic bread was only toasted on one side which came out a little burnt Also, I hope they post on their website/menu what time breakfast and dinner are so i can plan accordingly Overall Thoughts Quality control was lacking this time around, hopefully third time will be the charm

I wish I could do two ratings for this place. One for the service which was stellar and one for the food which was not. Unfortunately I am not able to do that so just know that the service and staff here were fabulous and attentive. The coffee was hot and plentiful. The Beignets were lukewarm and super chewy. It was difficult to cut them and they were not particularly flavorful. The blueberry jam was a nice touch. I got the chicken fried steak with a biscuit and eggs over medium. My eggs managed to be crispy on the outside and undercooked on the inside. My biscuit was cold and slathered with butter, but at least was not burnt like my dining companions. The steak was tender and flavorful but the gravy seemed to have separated and was swimming in fat which was super unappetizing. I wouldn’t return here just because of the poor food. The location was great and parking was no issue.

This place is on the rise with 40+ reviews. I expected it to have more! My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast in Monterey on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and contemplated coming back the next day! The food is fresh and delicious and you can taste the love! He ordered chicken fried steak and I had French toast with sides a la carte(added Googy potatoes, or homes fries, and bacon). I had my French toast with pecans and bananas. Sooo good! Don’t be fooled by the name and go here while it’s still undiscovered because once vacay season comes around and people are Unilocaling to see what to eat for breakfast, this place will get packed! We loved it here and can’t wait to return… and the service is amazing!
