Hands down your pants! This is the best Mexican I’ve had in California. I would drive hours out of the the way to eat their barbacoa burrito.

I moved recently to the area and was very disappointed with the taqueria options in the Monterey area, until i found this little Mercado. I ordered a variety of tacos: asada, lengua, al pastor etc. I had eight to start and was wowed that I went back in line to order another six. Mi tierra is now the place I can see my self getting tacos often. Bravo

The new favorite for the family taco night. While we shall continue our quest for the perfect taco, this place is the closest we’ve gotten on the MP. The drive from Monterey is pretty easy if you come up Fremont, just turn into the parking lot immediately before the Broadway intersection. The super market is extremely vibrant with many Mexican brand snacks and sundries. The perimeter of the store features the butcher and deli type foods. At the very back is the taco shop, the menu is pretty simple and we tried a variety of the tacos. The salsa bar has red & green salsa, while not scorching hot, I’m still feeling the effects of the red sauce. The tacos were in order of greatness — carnitas, barbacoa, fish, & asada. They have a cooler at the corner of the order window with glass and plastic bottles of soda that you can add to your tab. There were no losers in that race… we will return to try some of the other things like the burritos.

OMG. I live in the bay but I wish I lived in Seaside just so I could eat here. Best damn fish tacos, ever! Huge portions and cheap. Lots of working class people eat here and the chef is super proud of his food! GO, just GO! You will not be disappointed. I promise.

Mi Tierra is a humble Mexican market with a large selection of salsa, cheese, and meats. That’s cool and all but we’re really here for the hot food in the back corner. Less than $ 5 for a DELICIOUS super quesadilla. It’s meat and cheese and avocado in a perfectly crisp tortilla /drool. $ 1.50 for fresca, $ 1 for refill, flavors vary but there’s always 3 options And every time we’re down in Monterey, we come eat here twice that day. It’s usually our breakfast-turned-lunch while we walk Laguna Seca. Then we come back for dinner after a long day at the race track.

I guess this restaurant is under a new ownership! I used to love their food, but this last time I had a really bad experience! It took the waitress 20 minutes to get our order, and a whole hour to give us the food!

After spending some time kayaking and exploring Monterey on several trips and occasions, still one of my favorite memories is eating tacos here. Best place everrrrrr

I couldn’t resist the taco temptation today while in Seaside. 2 chicken tacos, $ 2.26. They were good but BEWARE of the Salsa Bar and the BUBBLING salsa roja. That’s when you know it’s gone beyond Bad.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. I loved my chicken quesadilla supreme and my boyfriend had no complaints about his super pastor burrito. Very affordable too! We will be back!

Great REAL Mexican food in the taqueria in back. Try the Ceviche Tostada or one of their burritos. Little salsa bar with selections from their market case so you can take home some of what you liked. Kids love the Jarritos and they have Coke in the real glass bottles. Don’t leave without a shopping in the market section. Nice selection of products you won’t find at other local stores. Authentic stuff in the cases and real tortilla chips to scoop them up with. They have El Pato salsas and sauces in those cute vintage cans and a piñata for your next party. Feels like a city atmosphere right here on the vanilla peninsula. Take a little trip outside the bubble, you won’t regret it and neither will your wallet!

Good tacos only 1.50 a pop. The place is in the back corner of a grocery store. The agua fracas and the barbacoa are not to be missed. The quesadias are large and filling. Oh and and go for the large agua fresca because if you get the small you will just end up regretting nit getting the large.

Large size burrito is very good. Fills me up for under $ 10. Good selection of salsas. I will be back.

Go to the food market in the back… Great tacos. And at a good price. $ 1.50 each. The al pastor tacos are perfect. And before you ask«what does this white guy know?» My girlfriend is from Mexico and says that these are the closest thing to real Mexican tacos. Now go eat some!

Really good store… I had no luck finding pork belly in any of my usual Peninsula markets. I was told to try Mi Tierra. Walked in the door, the meat department is right on the right. Before the guys behind the counter had a chance to say hello, I spotted the pork belly. Made me smile… Checked out the rest of the store and am convinced that it is a good market. We will be back, often. We do want to try the prepared foods in the taqueria, in the back of the store. A good find.

What can I say. Took me over a year to finally declare this store my favorite! Mi Pueblo has been my to go store for any Mexican produce and meats. Recently the competitor closed for no reason and I’ve been going to Mi Tierra as a backup store and it’s been great! First of all customer service at this store is great. You get that small town feel when you walk into the store. This is the spot where you can buy fresh meats, vegetables and already made food to go. I usually buy my groceries and also grab a quick bite to go. My favorite so far are the tacos de asada! They are very generous with portions. My husband ordered the Torta de asada and he said it was amazing! Its not the fanciest store, but I like it!

Tasty, inexpensive and just plan yum-o. Good place to get your Mexican craving fix. Carne Asada & Pollo tacos were delicious. Pollo Burrito was huge and filling. Will be back

This place is definitely a hole in the wall with the food and a supermarket full of pre made Mexican food. They have a butcher market as well and the prices are really cheap compared to San Jose. They have the chichrons which is very good and tasty, but salty and full of fat. They have the salsa bar of the green and red sauce as well. We ordered the tacos, menudo and chicken tacos which is nice and juicy. Definitely friendly service with a smile will definitely come back here :)

Don’t turn away! Yes, they’re Mexican… it’s a Mexican Carniceria, silly. Go straight to the taqueria in the back, order a carne asada burrito or taco and a fruit juice. You won’t regret it. They speak English, they’re friendly, and the food is inexpensive and ridiculously good. Don’t wait for one of your Chicano friends to hold your hand and walk you to the counter. NPS students, I’ve seen you walk in and about face! WTF, man? Bienvenidos!

After a long and tiring but enormously fun track day at Laguna Seca, this is the go to spot to fill your stomach before heading home. You have to walk towards the back to reach the hot food area, and it doesn’t look like much when you find it, but the food is fantastic! My favorite thing has to be the al pastor. It’s one of those places where they cook a crap ton of pork on a spit roaster, and each order comes with hot, freshly shaved pieces of delicious pork. There’s a lot of flavor from the sweet chiles and spices, and the crispy bits and edges make life worth living. They make everything better! Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, anything tastes awesome with their al pastor. Plus, agua fresca refills are only 50 cents! How can you not love this place?
