If your in need of some good drinks good company, and a place to dance, play pool and darts, check this place out! Awesome bar that isn’t over priced. A cool dive bar in seaside. If you’ve had a bad experience here, TRY IT AGAIN! It’s under new management and has a new owner. Csumb students check it out it’s only 6 miles from campus! Shout out to John and his team in making this a new place to unwind in the weekends and weekdays! Make a stop and have a drink with big John!

Second best dive bar only to the silver peso in larkspur, ca.; where I met my husband… but when in seaside, definitely go see Dj Michelle at the shadow box! And shout out to bartender Chris! This place is awesome!

Such a fun bar! and the owner John is amazing :) He’s so friendly and inviting. My coworkers and I love going to the Shadow Box. Especially Sundays now that hospitality night is going to start. Definitely check it out!

Very good as dive bars go. Our bartender (a friendly lady with two (or more) toned hair) was really on top of things. Nothing in the way of beer on tap, but decent selection of bottled beer, and the service rocked. Live music was a nice bonus.
If you don’t smoke, you might not like the smoking policy. If you do, it’s great. Men’s room might scare the meeker amongst you.

Mmmmm, the scent of stale cigarette smoke and alcoholism. This place is a perfect refuge for those who have both contracted it, and those who want to be set on their way to it. Don’t get me wrong Unilocal readers, that’s what I look for in a dive bar, and man this place is divey. Strong pours, thick second hand smoke, sketchy figures in the parking lot, and friendly dive service. The perfect getaway for recent divorcees, transient, unfortunate, nevermind all that. Everybody really. The shadow box is awesome. Kid and dog friendly too!

At first glance, this looks like a strip joint and your going to be disappointed if you find yourself one night after a binge at Buffalo Wild Wings. You will be pleasantly surprised to find that this is nice hole in the wall locals only dive bar. Drinks are pretty affordable and no large crowds. The folks that are regulars are always welcoming.

They smoke in the bar which is the reason they get 3 stars. I was going to give them 2 stars, but they have both a shuffle board and a pool table as well as Karaōke on Saturday nights.
It is definitely a dive bar. It is an older crowd. DJ Mile is cool and the crowd is nice. The bartender said Karaōke may be every other Saturday in the winter, so you may want to call ahead of that is your goal.
It’s a total ok dive bar, just don’t go if you don’t like smoke in the bar.

Smallish locals place. The bartender Michelle is awesome, and the DJ Mike takes requests. Strong drinks, friendly atmosphere. People take care of each other here and make sure you have a good time.

I was randomly in this neighborhood ’cause I was visiting Monterey on Labor Day weekend. Things get booked. But the payoff was finding this place!
Friendly, working class dive right across from my motel. Fun karaōke with an attentive and kind host. Old-​school female bartender with a heavy pouring hand ;). Clientele local and not weird. Perfect for a chill, low-​key evening.
