1927 Events

From the moment we walked into 1927 we knew it was everything we could ask for and more for our wedding. Stacy and Grace are so warm, welcoming, and perfectly in control. We opted for the full service package, and the day honestly couldn’t have been easier. To have everything in one place run by a small team really helped make the day almost entirely stress-​free. Our guests loved the space and we received so many compliments on how beautiful it is and how amazing the staff is. I can’t recommend 1927 enough for your event!

I had my wedding here in April and I am so happy I went with 1927 Events and Stacy P. Stacy was our day-​of-​coordinator and our contact with the venue. She was very nice, laid back, and helpful throughout the entire 9 months leading up to the wedding day. The best part was, she could tell whenever I was starting to get anxious or worked up and would do her best to calm any anxieties I had. I can honestly say that Stacy’s attitude kept me calm and blissfully happy throughout the entire wedding process. She also knew exactly how to structure our wedding so that it worked with our space, our «vibe,» and our guest count. I seriously did almost nothing except show up, slightly buzzed.
The rehearsal prior to the wedding day was perfect. Stacy breezed us through the whole thing, and it felt like another fun opportunity to hang out with our friends and family. She even handed out some beer. I was in heaven. But she also made sure we knew exactly where we needed to walk and stand during the ceremony. She organized us all and didn’t get frustrated when we were goofing off throughout the entire rehearsal. I don’t think Stacy knows how to get stressed out. It’s a thing of beauty.
The venue itself is gorgeous. Every time I stepped in there, I felt the awesome energy of the place. It’s polished without being faux-​anything. It just feels like a great urban space with plenty of room and modern touches. I did not decorate at all other than some flowers and vases. The space was its own decoration.
The wedding day went off without any problems. I couldn’t believe it. Stacy gracefully orchestrated the entire thing, coordinating with our caterers, dj, and photographer. It was easy to get in contact with her all week leading up to the wedding, too.
If I could give 1927 Events and Stacy 10 stars, I would. I am just so happy my husband and I decided to have our wedding with them. 1927 Events was actually the first venue we looked at. After seeing 5 or 6 other venues, we were drawn back to Stacy and 1927 Event’s awesome space.

I helped a friend with her product launch party at 1927. I was really impressed by the atmosphere of the space… urban yet warm and inviting! Stacy was awesome and made sure everything ran smoothly and that we had everything we needed. She is very professional, friendly and was great at making sure all details were in place. My friend is very detail-​oriented so this was a relief!
Overall, it was a great party and I would highly recommend the space for any type of event!

I day-​of coordinated a wedding here and was very impressed with this venue. The owner was helpful and kind, the space was convenient and intimate and well designed. My only concern was low lighting in the kitchen because it is open to the event space. Highly recommended !

Unfortunately 1927 Events is incredibly unprofessional and difficult to work with.
Stacy was rude, unprofessional and incredibly poor in her communication. She was clearly incapable of assisting in event planning and had no business being involved in that part of 1927’s business.
She repeatedly interceded in our communications with related vendors, for absolutely no comprehensible reason, and was a huge distraction while setting up the event. She did not honor our requests and made multiple errors that resulted in us double booking bartending and catering companies for the event. She was getting involved in completely inappropriate ways and made our event harder to execute.
To take the cake, during the event she came to me and DEMANDED that I let her use my personal wi-​fi hotspot because the «attendees of the event were using up all the wifi» and she «couldn’t get her emails done.» I was totally blown away that.
When we arrived at the space at noon for a 3pm event, none of the setup we had agreed to in our contract was finished… or even started actually. In fact, tables and chairs from the previous night’s event were still in place.
Employees from my company immediately began setting up tables and chairs because while the owner, Grace, was there, no one else was there to assist with setup. Grace decided to wait until we had set up the ENTIRE room to let us know that «oh, I have a crew coming that could have helped with that.» When two companies showed up to conduct the bartending, she insisted that we «had to go with her company» because we had to pay them either way.
We ended up paying for way more than the original agreement because of the snafu with the double-​booked bartenders. Honestly, it seemed like a deliberate «mistake.»
Honestly, I’m barely scratching the surface of all the problems that working with Grace and Stacey presented, but to summarize: great space, but poor management and an employee that was clearly out of her element.

We had both our wedding ceremony + reception here on 2÷22÷14 and it was absolutely wonderful. We knew from the moment we looked at the space that it was perfect for what we wanted and from that point on it came to life with the help of Grace, Esther, and staff. Grace is relaxed, organized, and very sweet to work with. Each meeting we had with her was seamless; if I had questions, she was able to answer them and eased any concerns I had about how it would all come together. On the day of the event, Grace was unable to be onsite which made me a little nervous but Esther was there for our rehearsal and had such detailed notes that any of my concerns fell by the wayside. I know it might sound cheesy but the staff at 1927 felt like friends and family throughout our planning/​celebration. From the bar staff to the door man, every single person helping with our event made it personal and special. We felt as though the cost of the space was exceptional for the amount of items included with the space and the wonderful staff. I would choose this space again in a heartbeat.

As an event planner, I was very pleased with the overall communication between the owner and I to get our private corporate event for 200+ off the ground and get our event visions to reality.
The Owner’s sister was to be our main contact for the night and it was quite obvious after the first hour that she wasn’t experienced with an event of that size and how to deal with minor «fires». Nearly 20 of our guests were kicked out for going into the 2 stall bathroom with more than one person at a time. One female guest plead her case to the security that had his hands on her shoulder as she was being escorted outside that she was handing a friend a feminine product over the bathroom stall wall. We had a great deal of complaints from our female guests that it was «creepy» that the male security officers were IN the female bathrooms to «make sure only one person was in the bathroom at a time» After talking with the owner’s sister, we were told that this was necessary to keep the event going as planned because there was «suspicious activity» when two male guests were seen in the bathroom together talking.
After the event was said and done, the credit card that was on file was charged 33% more than our signed contract without our authorization. When asked, it was for «breaking ½ their glasses», 2 extra security guards (there was only one extra guard) «damaging their sound system» (the sound system was being used the very next day of the event). Clearly, no explanation of the over charges and have yet to receive the updated contract that reflects these charges per our request for accounting purposes.
In addition, follow-​up communication between our event staff and the owners were dismal. To anyone putting on an event, whether it be a wedding, corporate event, or a private gathering, we all know this could be the most frustrating aspect. When holding events, communication between the planner & venue is so crucial & getting one of 4 phone calls returned within 2 weeks and 2 emails of 5 in several months is unacceptable to any profession.
After speaking individually with the venue’s head security that was on our event that night, he said that it was the owner’s sisters «first event of that size and she is over reacting to what is going on. Your guests aren’t out of control by ANY means but she is my boss. We have to do what she says, but unfortunately these guests shouldn’t be getting kicked out.»

Great space, really convenient (RIGHT in downtown Seattle) and seems very flexible for whatever kind of event you’re planning. I stopped in the other night for a Seattle Brisket Experience event, which is probably a couple hundred people all sitting down for dinner, and a corner for some musicians to play. Bathrooms were nice, there was a bar area set up, and they have really cute lights hanging from the ceilings that makes you feel almost like you’re outdoors! I’d definitely consider it for a food-​related event and possibly more!

We’ve used 1927 Events for two different corporate holiday parties, one at Sole Repair w/​about 75ppl and one at 1927 for about 200ppl. Both events were fantastic and I received compliments during and after the party about the great atmosphere and the great food.
Grace and her team take care of EVERYTHING. If you’re looking to plan an event w/​a great atmosphere and you don’t want to micro-​manage do it w/​these guys, they’ll take good care of you.

I’ve been here twice now — once for a PAX art show and once for a networking holiday party event. It’s a good space! Very conveniently located in the heart of Seattle, right across from Bed Bath and Beyond. It seems like it fits 200 people standing easily. Not sure how many it would fit sitting though.
First time I was there they only had the bar in the back open and it was crazy crowded all night. Second time I was there they had both a back bar and front bar open and that made it much easier to get drinks.
It’s a cute space! I like the décor, and it is definitely easy to add your own flair for your event since it’s a fairly neutral space.

Hey! This is a great venue! I had a blast at the event I attended here! The staff were very nice.

Whoever said this is «just a room» hasn’t done event planning. We had an event with about 120 women, a dj, 4 retail vendors, 3 makeup artists, 3 hair stylists, 2 nail technicians, 5 massage therapists, and 3 wineries. Grace and Stacy are easygoing and flexible, and even made sure my co-​chair and I had sorely-​needed cocktails in hand when we needed them. A touchy event space owner could have made the night really unpleasant, but Grace and her sister helped the whole thing seem a lot less stressful than it might have.

Like another reviewer said, it’s just a room where people have events… but I had a BLAST at the event I attended!
I went to the 2013 Trust 4^th Anniversary Party, which I saw on Facebook. The music was FANTASTIC. The DJ was spinning beats from all kinds of genres — hip hop, electronic, dub step, cha cha, mambo, hard rock. The only reason I left was because my feet hurt from dancing so hard!
It’s a good alternative to a big club scene — there’s a kind of kitchen window opening that serves as a bar and a few tables and chairs around the perimeter of the room… it’s not super swanky, but they put on a great themed event and I had a blast.
I’d go again — FOR SURE — to any event they throw.

I don’t really get it. Like, it’s a place. It has 2 «bars». Sometimes there’s a DJ here. It has bathrooms. The space is austere. It’s literally just a room where people hold events. Want to hold an event here? You could do worse! I’ve been here for a Unilocal elite event (fun) and a World Affairs Council hooha (not fun). My opinions on the room have not changed. It is still and will always be a room. 3 STARS FOR YOU ROOM!

Adorable event space! Great for weddings, corporate events or big birthday parties. Right in the heart of downtown, you might pass it by on your way to the new City Target or Bed Bath & Beyond, but look through the windows next time. It’s really cute, it’s two levels and it’s perfect for just about any event! On their grand opening night they hosted an adorable speakeasy event. Think fedoras and flappers… So cute!

Hidden away in an oddly located space on 3^rd ave, 1927 offers a fun, clean event space from the people behind Sole Repair that is sorely needed in a well walked but fairly ignored portion of downtown.
Grand opening night for the public offered an appropriate speakeasy theme. Fedoras, flapper skirts, and suspenders were seen aplenty. Stoli and Hendricks sponsored the event, and even though the line for the full bar was busy the drinks were free and strong. The bar tenders were quick, friendly, and made damned tasty cocktails for a full house. The food and catering is all done by the folks at restaurant Zoe — so delicate and decandent treats from salmon tar-​tar on a cilanto topped latke, to orange truffles, to panacotta tarts with pineapple cavier, to hunks of aged blue cheese on delicate toasts with rich jam were offered. Everything I put in my mouth was amazing, and the full menu they offer for catering at this event space looks fantastic.
The space is cute and open — exposed brick on one wall warming the place up. The opposite side offered a long white wall perfect for projection — but I felt it was a wee bit boring and something more with the décor there could be done. The ceiling shows exposed wood beams and again, boring white paint. I imagine a lot of this is to keep the historical architecture in tact, but I really wanted just a ~bit~ more out of the space. The room is spacious though, and decorated with cute vintage antique items appropriate for the address and time frame in American history they are wanting to promote. An adequate sound system and DJ spinning vinyl (yes!) are available. They boast room for 300 people for cocktail/​standing guests, or up to 150 people for a formally seated event with lounge reception. I can see this being a lovely place for a small wedding reception, a fancy corporate dinner, or just a fun venue for live music and people to dance a bit.
The employees working here — from the promoter Grace to the bouncer working the door to table staff clearing drinks away were professional, friendly, and excited about 1927 events. I am too, and wouldn’t hesitate heading back down here for another fun themed night or event again in the future!
