This review is solely for the tofu bahn mi. I have not tried anything else from the menu, but the tofu bahn mi is great. OK, OK, I would rate nearly any bahn mi a 4 or a 5 as long as it wasn’t dry. However, this bahn mi is *especially* delicious. The tofu in particular — it’s nice and soft and chewy on the edges, and marinated in this sorta sweet sauce that gets a little soaked in the bread. Yummmmmm. I will definitely be back, and may update the review should I venture from the bahn mi, but don’t hold your breath.

Roast beef sandwich is the best I’ve had in Seattle. Cozy & feels like a great local coffee shop. Would recommend!

The breakfast sandwich was extremely delicious! I got the Plain Jane but added ham on an English muffin, I recommend it! As for coffee, I got a soy latte and it was perfect! The staff was very friendly and helpful! I will be back!

One of the most delicious and affordable cafes around! The service is quick and extremely welcoming and the food is amazing! Fresh ingredients, laid back vibe with some trance-like music really puts this over the top!

I go here weekly to satisfy my cravings for their homemade chicken bahn mi… and it’s only $ 5. Super friendly & fast service keeps me and my coworkers coming back for more.

The food I would give 5 stars but the availability only 1 hour into being open is 3 stars — so I gave it an average of 4 stars. Things we wanted but they didn’t have: Drip coffee and Almond croissant — note that they are working to discontinue their pastries — so focus on coming here for the sammiches — which are amazing! :) Plain Jane Wrap w/Swiss: Yum!!! I will say it’s not filling but that’s why it’s $ 5 :) But oh so delicious! Really great texture and flavor balance all around and very hot inside(most egg wraps I have tend to be cold in the middle). BGT(except replaced the G with M — replaced Gorgonzola with mozzarella): YUM!!! Greasy deliciousness yummness! toasting is on the dark side which I love because the cheese is fully melted and again, perfect a lance of flavor — their house aioli sauce is amazing! Their chips here are Tim’s Cascade! Yum! I will eat here again, probably sooner than later! :)

After a dentist appointment in the area, my friend showed me this little quaint joint! There are around 7 or 8 tables in the place, not too big. Their menu is decent sized with about 5 options of hot sandwiches, 5 or so options of cold sandwiches, and the same for Vietnamese baguettes! This was my first time eating Vietnamese sandwiches, and I was impressed. I got the pulled pork baguette and it was a good mixture of ingredients. Not too much cilantro to overpower, pretty decent amount of pork, not too chunky cucumbers, and the bread not too soft and not too hard! The guy at the counter was kind of rushing me to place my order at the counter — but understandable since it was lunch time and the rush was probably coming. There was also the choice of adding a bag of chips and they also had 1 soup available as well. Only took 2 or so minutes to get the food — really quick! If I lived in the area, I would frequent more so!

This place is alright. I tried getting some lunch there couple of times. Tried both their grilled pork and grilled chicken Bahn Mis. The bread was nicely done but the meat portion was a bit skinny. Meat is heated up in a microwave before they put it on your bread so no way to know how fresh it is. Jalapeños were plentiful which I liked. Overall a lot of nice toasty bread for the price you pay. You order your good at the counter and they bring it to you. You go get your own water type of place. Decent overall. Tables are not cleaned immediately after the previous customers leave and on both occasions I had to clean my own tables with crumbs left behind by previous guests. The owners watched me do it and still neither offered help or apologized for me having to do it. Umm ok?!? I might still go there to grab lunch in a pinch but won’t go out of my way to grab a sandwich there.

This was the place where I had my very first meal in Seattle and it definitely helped me building such a good impression to this city! I only got a salad(Artisan salad) for my first visit which was awesome of course, but their menu covers such a variety I will definitely visit once more before I leave Seattle.

I wanted to write this review ages ago and now finally here it is. I love love love the tofu Bánh mì(Vietnamese sandwich) here! The tofu is perfectly marinated, the jalapeños add the right spiciness and the carrots and cucumber do the sweet magic. Normally I squirt a ton of sriracha sauce to add flavor to my sandwich but surprisingly here I don’t need any of it. Whenever we have friends/family visiting Seattle this is one place we definitely bring them to. I wish they remained open until late I would visit them more often.

I came across this place walking down 5th street towards the Space Needle. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a great breakfast place with exceptional coffee too. I opted for a chai latte which was good. For food, I ordered a breakfast croissant and the sunrise wrap. Both were very good and the food was fresh because we noticed one of the workers arriving with vegetables and such from the local farmer’s market. I would recommend coming here for a good breakfast with coffee.

Found this place on Unilocal and loved the atmosphere. Very small, most people probably get take-out. We had sandwiches, very good. I had the smoked salmon: it’s Seattle after all. Enjoyed our experience!

Found this neat Vietnamese café on Unilocal.Be aware that the prices are higher than what others have posted in their reviews here. But you know, inflation and such. The food was delicious and the staff we adorable and friendly. The only complaint I have is that the coffee machine is placed outside and the guests are supposed to brew the coffee themselves. I guess that makes for fresh tasting coffee but I was not a fan of having to wait for it to brew.

Came exclusively for bahn mi sandwiches but left disappointed. I agree with previous reviewers that they use great fresh toasted bread, but the filling-to-bread ratio is a little off and I threw out a lot of excess bread bits. The overall flavor was okay, but a little dry. Iced chai seemed like it was just off-the-shelf Oregon chai flavor. Nice quiet ambiance and nice service, but just wouldn’t come here exclusively for the sammies.

Cool little mom and pop hole in the wall coffee shop/lunch spot right under the monorail! Espresso is good, and at some point I will have to try their food. Service is friendly and quick. Very pleasant experience and quiet coffee shop in Belltown.

Had a bahn mi here. It was ok. It’s a nice café to have coffee in and enjoy a small conversation in. The service is very polite and kind and welcoming. I enjoyed the place and I’ll probably drop by again.

Cute little Belltown café with friendly owners and delicious coffee and food. I ordered their chai and it was tasty, a bit on the creamier side, but pretty good. I also love that they serve a wide variety of savory items like croissants, sandwiches, salads and Vietnamese baguettes! There’s a large TV in the café too so that’s good for watching games if you’re not into the sports bar scene. The décor is cute, there’s a huge painting of Paris and the café feels cozy and warm.

My fiancé found this gem of a café on a random adventure a week ago and has returned twice since! He brought me here and we got the tuna melt and mighty muffin breakfast sandwich. Holy crap, both are SO amazingly good! I don’t know what herbs and spices they put in there, but the flavors are out of this world. I don’t even like tuna. The coffee is good too! I will definitely be coming back.

I really enjoyed this quirky café on a typical dreary Seattle day. It was a nearly pleasant walk in the November rain from 6th Street North(where there happens to be the cheapest street parking in the entire city at $ 1.50/hour). The exterior façade Artisan Café is a classy coffee shop: brick with large windows on two sides. Inside is a counter behind which two Vietnamese women bustle about making drinks, sandwiches, and dishing up soups. The rest of the space is crammed with a few regular tables and high counters with stools lining the windows. On one of the counters is a healthy pile of newspapers and magazines. There were a good amount of power-strips for charging electronic devices — especially those that take advantage of Artisan Café’s free wifi! I enjoyed a Vietnamese Meatball Baguette with a latte for a little over $ 8. The ladies behind the counter were polite and efficient. I watched one of them heating items in the two microwaves along the wall behind her and then assembling food. My baguette was wrapped in paper and then secured with a rubber-band. It was surprisingly ready before my latte! The sandwich was really interesting. At first I internally questioned if I was given the wrong item(see picture). The white-colored meat on the sandwich did not fit my understanding of a meatball nor was it covered in tomato sauce(per the menu description). The textures and flavors were scrumptious and I assumed that my original confusion was attributable to my unfamiliarity with Vietnamese meatballs. The meat tasted like chicken and was heavily seasoned with salt and vinegar. The freshness of the cilantro provided an inviting contrast to the bread and meat. The bread was soft and easily fit into my mouth. The flavor of the latte was initially bitter but other more interesting flavors quickly followed that impression. I’m not a good judge of the quality of coffee but I can tell you that I found this cup to be alright. I would have preferred a little sweetness; however, I could have easily gotten up from my seat and gone to the condiment station and added whatever sweetener I wanted but I chose not to do so.

This is a review of lunch at Artisan Café. Artisan is a quaint neighbourhood spot in Belltown. It is small and cozy. It has a bit of a homelike feel. The staff is very friendly. They feature sandwiches, Vietnamese sandwiches(Bánh mì), and salads. They also serve breakfast. Plus, they serve a selection of coffees. On our visit, the service was very quick. The restaurant wasn’t very busy. I walk by here often. It doesn’t seem to ever be overly crowded. Caprese Sandwich(Mozzarella, swiss cheese, fresh basil & plum tomatoes) — This was a nice panini style sandwich. The ingredients were fresh and the sandwich was well made. Pork Bánh mì — This was my brother’s lunch. He enjoyed it. As he put it, for a sandwich shop it was a good Bánh mì. For a Vietnamese restaurant, it was an average Bánh mì. The ingredients were, once again, very fresh. The bun was close(but not exact) to the flaky baguette expected for Bánh mì. It was a tad closer to a normal sandwich roll. Lunch for two was $ 18.07 Overall — This is a nice neighbourhood sandwich shop. If you are nearby and want a well prepared sandwich made with quality fresh ingredients, Artisan will do the trick. It isn’t a destination spot though.
