Love the open space, brick walls, high ceilings, and globes/encyclopedias used as decoration in this place. Definitely would recommend it for people looking to host mingle type of events!

We ultimately chose not to go with Axis for our wedding, as we could not make it work with any of their caterers(one of the«affordable» options gave me a 14k estimate and I almost shit). But I do want to say that Melissa went above and beyond to try to work with us. She was very gracious and understanding, and I couldn’t recommend someone more highly.

I stumbled upon Axis while I was in search of a wedding venue. It was the first venue we saw and we were 100% sold. We had out reception in September and it was an absolute dream. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Axis team and and about this space. All of our guests were blown away with this unique and gorgeous space. I hope to come to many more events at Axis and I will be eternally grateful to Erin and her team for creating our dream wedding!

Love Erin and the gang at AXIS! I planned a 250+ party here in August and it was fantastic. Guests enjoyed the brick architecture, high ceilings and unique location(who knew there was a large event space in Pioneer Square!). We hired Gourmondo to cater and their food was delicious. We also worked with Blue Danube to provide a screen, projector, mic and speakers. This space works great for a wedding, cocktail reception or sit down dinner. We set-up 200+ chairs theater style for half of our event, and had the other half set-up for a cocktail reception. I’ll be honest, it was a little tight, so I would recommend using the entire space for one thing or the other(theater style vs. cocktail reception), and double checking your numbers. I would definitely recommend this venue and can’t wait to go back soon! Jen Owens

This is a very nice event space. We had a private party here(300 capacity) and the space was lovely with no added décor. I believe we provided catering and bar staff, but everything went off without a hitch. There were three bars set up, one in the main area, one upstairs and one in the back. For a party of this size, it might be a good idea to have a second ladies restroom, but that’s not a huge problem. Conveniently located and well set up for most parties, I’d say.

AXIS is honestly a beautiful location for any large event, gathering, or cocktail party. I adored the exposed brick walls, the arched doorways, the tall ceilings, the modern and minimalist bar area, not to mention the floor to sky-high ceiling windows. It is in a really nice, industrial-area part of town, which lend itself to the space as well. I attended a Unilocal Event here earlier this year, and if I have an event to host, AXIS will definitely be at the top of my list.

Our daughter’s wedding and reception was at Axis and what a perfect place. The staff was so great to work with, the space was gorgeous. The brick and high ceilings made for great ambiance. We hardly had to decorate. Plenty of room for ceremony and reception, with the great bar and fun dance floor. The upstairs room was perfect for the bride and bridesmaids to hangout before the ceremony and seeing our daughter enter by walking down the staircase was a special touch. It was such a fun night.

What a great space! I was here for a Unilocal Elite event, and this was just the right size and atmosphere. Axis has a great location in the beautiful part of SODO =P Axis has a large entrance area, small upstairs area, and an even larger back area. This would be a great spot to set up catering, dancing, or anything else.

Nice place to hold an event. Very spacious and can hold a lot of people. Looks like they do weddings to company functions at this place. A cool place to hangout with the Seattle crowd.

This is a beautiful event space! Loved the exposed brick walls, high ceilings, arched walk ways, wood floors and how open the area was! Also can use the alley! You could have a very large party/event/wedding here! Gorgeous antique decorations/books through out the space including awesome mirrors in the bathroom. The bar was nice and added to the space while being large it fit perfectly with the brick and antiques. Has a balcony area which was perfect for a dj. As a guest to an event here I was in awe and loved the space. Talked to a lady who worked there, she was super nice and loved to talk about the history of the place!

An abundance of room with a few modern accents and old world charm, this venue is surprisingly large! The layout is perfect for events and weddings. The mirrors in the bathroom were so cool that for the first time, I took a mirror selfie and I swore to never in my lifetime do that! The loft above is great for a DJ or band. I can imagine that having a large wedding here would be very fun. I really enjoyed the event that I attended here and hope to come back soon!

Came here for a Unilocal event and it was a Super cute event space in Pioneer Square. The exposed brick is gorgeous and the antique touches make it special(globes, old books etc). Everyone working the event was nice and friendly and helped explain everything that was happening! I haven’t seen a wedding done here but I imagine its stunning. Good for corporate events too. It seems like it can really be made to customize any style you are going for.

While doing research online for local event spaces I came across Axis. Realizing it was the old Elliot Bay Bookstore location, I was already intrigued. I contacted the business owners via their website and they were fast to respond via email. We agreed on a meet up date to take a walk-through tour and when I showed up they greeted me warmly at the door. During our tour I learned so much more about the history of the space and just fell absolutely in love. Formerly the home of a hospital(even before it was Elliot Bay Books), they’ve taken great care to make sure that features like the original brick walls and the arches in the ceiling are exposed. They also pay homage to the history of the space with simple and elegant decorations along the walls and up the length of the tall(20 ft?) ceilings. Large enough for a few hundred people, I was more blown away when I learned about the access to closing off the alley out back. Adding hundreds more in square footage, the alley is picturesque, it screams of Seattle, and there are romantic lights strung up to allow for lighting when entertaining out back. And not only is this space used for art shows, it’s also used as a photo studio. It’s perfect for a variety of events because of how clean and modern the layout is. There’s even a lofted area upstairs that can work as a VIP section for large events, or as a changing area for weddings. I hope to not just plan and execute a lovely holiday work event here, but to also attend many other events here. In fact, I fully intend to come to Pioneer Square’s famous Art Walks more often because Axis participates and displays local art. So I’ll be here as soon as the first Thursday of next month!

cute space, terrible staff, completely unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment to view the space for my own wedding, and when I got there, I was ignored and it took me forever to find the woman I was supposed to meet with. When I finally found her, she first looked at me like she had no idea we had an appointment and said, «oh… are you here for a tour??» and then she asked me to wait and just started talking to other people for quite some time. As amazing as the space is, I would not trust them with my event. They are rude, they don’t care about their customers and again, completely unprofessional.

WOW! For all you couples wanting to get married in Seattle, this GEM located in the heart of Pioneer Square boasting wall to wall brick arches, lofted bridal room, string lit brick alley way and a «book company» bar is a dream come true! Owners of Urban Light Studios team up with Shooby Doo Catering to create what might be this years best new venue in Seattle. You wont be disappointed!
