Visiting from Austin and our Airbnb hosts listed this as a nearby spot to try… love the intimate feeling and the pizza went above my expectations. Due to the crowd(on a Wednesday night! Which can be a good sign!) it was hard to have a conversation and I felt that the guy checking our water was more attentive than our waitress. However, I understand how busy she was. I’d go back in a heartbeat and try one of the cocktails next time around.

My new favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle. Bar Del Corso is an excellent Beacon Hill fixture, which has somehow managed to balance a popular reputation with maintaining neighborhood charm. On a Saturday evening around 6 pm, I called and was told that the estimated wait was 45 minutes. After arriving, we hovered in the entryway for a while as there was quite a crowd accumulating there already. It was confusing, as there didn’t seem to be a place to put our name down, and the one server who seemed tasked with assigning tables seemed harried and hadn’t yet acknowledged us about 10 minutes in. So I was pretty skeptical to start, but was very surprised when we were seated at a table probably within 15 minutes of arriving! We definitely lucked out with pretty good table turnover right when we got there. Had a table not opened up, I was willing to take seats at the bar, which seemed to have better turnover/availability as well. The ambience of the restaurant is fantastic: slightly rustic and romantic, with warm hardwood throughout. Not too fancy. Especially in Seattle, when good Italian unfortunately often comes paired with ridiculous pretentiousness, it’s so refreshing to find a nice home-style and authentic place like Bar Del Corso. I always love open kitchen layouts, which was nice here too. As for the food, I was really happy with everything we ordered(our waiter joked that his reputation was really on the line with us, as we literally went with every suggestion he made): –sugar snap peas with whipped ricotta: a seasonal special(May 2016). The sweetness of the peas was nicely highlighted by a lightly salted whipped ricotta, and they had a nice snapping texture contrasted by the soft ricotta as well. Delicious. –grilled octopus: another fantastic small plate to share. The octopus was tender and just perfectly grilled. Some of the best octopus I’ve had. Accented with beans and kale. –Corno di capra pizza: We debated between the special pizza and the corno di capra, but went with the latter at suggestion of our waiter. The corno di capra is topped with housemade sausage and pickled peppers — and wow, the peppers were quite the star. I don’t think I’ve ever had them before, and especially not on pizza. So unique and a really nice tart addition to the flavor profile of this pizza. Crust was authentic, thin-crust Italian pizza(there’s an open pizza oven in the back). The crust could have been more crispy throughout; therefore not the best pizza I’ve had, but Bar Del Corso has such a well-rounded menu that this wasn’t a big deal at all. Still definitely enjoyed the rest of our food. –chocolate hazelnut cake: Just okay. Probably the least favorite thing I ordered. Slightly too dense in my opinion, but really great hazelnut flavor. All in all, solid food and excellent ambiance makes Bar Del Corso a new favorite of mine. I’ve already recommended it to several friends, despite only having been there a few weeks go. My only gripe is the disorganized system for putting your name down for a table and how crowded this restaurant gets. Definitely not the fault of the restaurant, but some clarity with taking down names and considering taking reservations(at least for tables, and leave the bar seating first-come first-serve) may help.

I have been living is Seattle for over 14 years now and finally after giving up on finding an Italian restaraunt that I could actually stomach, a client of mine recommended this place. I am Italian and was raised by my grandmother who is an amazing cook who brought her flavor a of Italy to America with her. Being raised by her I learned to cook and also learned to have a very high standard of what good Italian food should taste like. I am happy to say I have found my place here!!! I will be back many many times! When I’m not cooking myself lol. Best. Italian. Restaraunt. In Seattle. Period.

This is my favorite restaurant and a little afraid to give it such a high score as it is always hard to get a table. If you can’t afford a trip to Sorrento and need a fix for Napoli style pizza and food then come to Bar Del Corso. Its a family run neighborhood restaurant who often will shut down for a week at a time vacations, so check there web site. Everything we have had has been amazing. Ask the waiter to recommended as their menus changes quite often. Loved their pizza, risotto balls, roasted brussel sprouts, meat balls, … Their craft spirit selection is amazing. The biggest negative is that it is usually crowded so you will probably wait 30 minutes and the noise level is fairly high, but that all adds to the atmosphere in my opinion. For a good seattle restaurant the parking is amazingly easy since it is in the beacon hill neighborhood so there is lots of free street parking.

Wow — what an awesome neighborhood gem in Beacon Hill. A shout-out to my Beacon Hill friends for introducing me to Bar Del Corso during my most recent jaunt to the Emerald City. This spot definitely has a warm and inviting neighborhood vibe, and while they don’t accept reservations, there’s a nice area to enjoy a round or few of drinks out front, and the host will call your name when your table is ready. The interior of the restaurant is cozy and lively, and be sure to ask your waiter to tell you about their awesome pizza oven, and the story of bringing it from Italy to Seattle! Apparently Jerry(the owner) is almost always in the kitchen, making sure each pizza that comes out of that oven is a delight. While the pizza is a must, there are some appetizers worth trying as well. I would recommend the Grilled Octopus as well as the Polpettine(housemade meatballs) to start as you wait for that beautiful crisp, blistered, chewy and perfect pizza to arrive. There are six varieties of pizza from which to choose, and you can elect for the pizza to arrive sliced or for the server to leave you with your own pizza-cutting shears(yes, scissors). Obviously, purists and enthusiasts will want the Margherita pizza(definitely ADD the bufala mozzarella — worth it), but I also loved the Funghi(mushroom and sausage with tomato sauce) and the Corno di Capra(sausage with peppers). Two apps and three pizzas among a party of three will maybe net you some leftovers, as the pizzas are easy to share, but they’re not huge, and the great thing about an authentic pizza is that you’re not left feeling«stuffed» or «gross» from an overabundance of «breadiness» or crust. Be sure to ask your server about the desserts of the day, as they’re made in-house and subject to change. We were too full to sample any desserts, but the delicious espresso was the perfect finale to an amazing dinner! Be warned that they’re closed Sunday AND Monday.

Lack of proximity to Bar del Corso was the biggest downside to moving away from Beacon Hill. This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Crazy? Maybe, but it’s true. It’s small, charming, unassuming, and I’ve never had a bad dish. Jerry [Corso] is always in the kitchen and his passion comes through in the food. The Funghi Pizza, Suppli al Telefono, and polenta cake are musts.

Hubby and I are kicking ourselves for not going here sooner, being South Siders. It was busy, so it’s first come-first served. But, even on a busy Friday night, we were able to get a seat at the bar – which I actually prefer and recommend if you’re on a date! You get to see the chefs doing their work and the smells are amazing. It’s a lot of fun! Ironically, the pizza was only okay. The crust = A+++. The toppings – we ordered the Funghi – it was just… well…(shrug). But the crust was so good that we might have to go back and try other toppings that might be more to our liking. I think the meatballs were just okay. HIGHLIGHTS: + The mussels! The broth is amazing! + Ditto with the octopus salad! + Arugula salad was a surprising delight(just wanted to get something green; ended up truly enjoying it) + Hazelnut cake with whipped cream

My favorite pizza in Seattle and favorite restaurant in Beacon Hill. Really delicious wood-fired thin crust pizza with yummy blackened crust. Get the Margherita pizza for sure. I’ve never bern disappointed with the food here and we love the rotating seasonal specials menu. The small plates are all delicious as well. Try the spicy Calabrian sausage(on the specials menu). This is a perfect place to come with a few friends and share dishes and a bottle of wine. Great wine selection(though no cheap options) and awesome Italian cocktails. The Milano spritz is my favorite. This place is busy and does not take reservations so expect to wait during the rush. The food is well worth the wait. If you’re looking for Americanized pizza with doughy crust or a typical Italian menu with pasta dishes this is not the place for you. (NOTE): Not a great place for vegetarians as nearly everything contains meat.

Pizza: A small person can easily eat ¾’s of a pie. Pizzas are not cut(this is weird to me, but apparently a thing) So ask for pizza cutters. You’re better off with whats on the menu than whats on the board(at least with my experience) Other: It’s busy here, so expect to wait 30 min or so during a weekend. Try the Bronx Cocktail — its amazing! Consider skipping the small plates and opting for another Pie instead. the small plates are really just tastings and the pies here are really the star of the show.

There is something very warm and inviting about this restaurant. Perhaps, the smell of freshly cooked pizza traveling from the wood oven(which is an amazing piece of art btw) that draws people in, or the beautifully grown herbs and tomatoes in the backyard patio, or the crafty cocktails here, whatever it is, there is something for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the plate of salami that comes with a side of bread. There was also the huge 12? 15? In pizza that was plenty for the two of us to share. We wrapped the night up with some dessert– the plum polenta was moist and fruity. I enjoyed taking a bite or two of the bfs panna cotta too, also very delicious. I would not leave this place without trying their dessert!

WOW! The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is due to inconsistent and slow service. But the food definitely deserves 5 stars. A few cousins and I were here on a hot Saturday night — the restaurant is really hot on hot days because of their ginormous pizza oven, so cooler days are probably better for a visit here if you don’t want to feel like you’re in an oven. We ordered about 5 different appetizers/small plates and 3 pizzas. Everything was delightful, but the one element that shines is their cheese. My oh my, their cheese is so fresh and it explodes your taste buds in a way that you simply cannot ignore how amazing it is. A few comments on the dishes: — Burrata dish just melted in your mouth. YUM! — The cauliflower and crispy capers dish was a stand-out. Fantastic blend of flavors and loved the texture of the crispy capers. — The fried risotto balls are amazing. One per person is perfect. — The grilled octopus was well prepared, perfectly tender. — The meatballs(both meat and sauce) were on the salty side but the flavor was nice. — The prosciutto in the melons and prosciutto was amazing. I could eat that meat every day… it was so succulent! The pizzas were mostly fantastic, except the funghi pizza was a bit plain. It seemed that there was only olive oil, salt, and mushrooms. The pizza special of the day was to die for! It had prosciutto shaved on top after being taken out of the oven, and the cheese(like I said above) was so incredibly fresh. I will be adding this to my list of new favorite restaurants, and will definitely come back again for more!

I loved this place. Good food and even better prices. We ordered several items off the menu and shared. One dish that was not on the menu was the cauliflower salad with beets… Dear God! That dish was so good, I could convert to vegan-ism and eat that dish everyday. We also ordered the Funghi without the sausage… pretty solid pizza pie! The Suppli al Telefono 5(fried risotto balls & mozzarella) was good but not really memorable. The Polpettine(house-made meatballs in tomato sauce) was good but it had a unique flavor to it. I could live without trying this again. But it wasn’t necessarily bad either. Just… uh… different. However, I can appreciate the chef’s creativity. Nice ambiance. I hear this place also gets packed quickly, so come early.

Everything was excellent from beginning to the end. We had about 7 dishes total and all of them were amazing! The service was friendly and quick. The drinks and selection were up to par. We will definitely be back and as we left there was a line out the door.

This is definitely a «hidden gem» on the crest of Beacon hill! In fact you could easily drive by it, not knowing it was even there had there not been crowds of people standing outside waiting for a table. Even then, I’ve missed it a few times. Lol. But street parking is ample, it has a great atmosphere with a neighborhood yet modern vibe, and of course tasty food. Everything we had was seriously delicious! I think I’ve had a good majority of items on the menu and I can’t think of anything I didn’t enjoy, though sometimes portion sizes were on the smaller side. Cons: they don’t take reservations so the wait can be very long and there isn’t a lot to do in the area yet, though I get the feeling that strip will continue to develop significantly in the coming years. Service can also be hit or miss as there are so many people coming in and out, but if you’re willing to be patient, a worthwhile food experience awaits!

I’ve been wanting to come here for years, but it always looked so crowded so I would get discouraged. Finally got the chance to get here just as they opened to snag any seat in the house with a couple of friends. The place is simple and cute, with good natural lighting on a sunny day. We ordered: Fried ricotta balls: The texture and flavor was so on point. Stuffed with a fat wad of mozarella that oozes out when you cut into it, I was in love and wanted more! Meatballs: My friends and I agreed that the marinara needed a little something more. It almost tasted a little too tart. Not something I would pay for again. Braised pork shoulder: The meat was VERY tender and it came on top of a great balsamic salad. I do wish the pork itself had more flavor and not have to rely on the salad. Funghi pizza: My friends were pretty disappointed in this pizza because it had only one type opf mushroom and they were expecting more due to the name. Their fault for not reading the description of the pizza, but I do agree that it could’ve used more ingredients. Other than that, I thought it was a pretty solid pizza. I probably wouldn’t be back any time soon. nothing really stood out to me except for the risotto balls. This would be a perfect place for someone with a really healthy palate though!

I looove Bar Del Corso. It is usually very busy, however, it is worth it to wait. They do not take reservations so make sure you are there early if you come with a big party. You can order a drink while you wait. My favorite pizza is Corno di capra. Great flavor, a little spicy, perfect with a glass of wine or beer. They have a great selection. The grilled octopus is one of my friends’ favorite appetizers. The service is good too and prices are not too bad for the great food experience.

It is great that we have a pizza place on BH! We’ve been here a few times now and tried a number of their pizzas, and they are all tasty with a perfectly thin but not soggy crust. Personally, I prefer the crust here over Tutta Bella and Via Tribunali, though I prefer some of the topping combinations at Tutta Bella. The arancini are crispy, cheesy and delicious, as are the seasonal stuffed squash blossoms. However, the octopus appetizer was overcooked and the octopus lacked the chewiness that would have made the dish. The sauce was very tasty though. The service is just ok. A few servers are friendly, but on multiple visits a few were a bit cold or just uninterested. I suppose it’s not bad enough to outweigh the tasty pizzas, but it is an area that could be improved.

Bar del coros = Bar delicioso! It’s no secret that I adore those cute and cozy little neighborhood places. This is one of them. So cute, dim lit, candles all over and romantic. It’s not fancy but it’s low key and somewhat romantic. That warm and cozy feeling I wish I could bottle up! Makes you want to stay a while. First time we came, we got in, waited a few minutes for our table and off we go! Second time around, we waited about 15 – 20 minutes. Our waitress was attentive even though the place was full. That’s a good sign. I wish I sat on the bar counter to check out all the kitchen action but the table was way too cute to resist. And the bar was full. So the table it is! On to our food! Usually, you go to pizza places for what else– pizza! But this place? They got it down. They had so many small plates specials, I almost skipped my pizza. Now that’s what I love. All the small plates are around $ 6– $ 12 and pizzas are around $ 15. Affordable? Yes! **** Grilled octopus with heirloom peperonata — check!(My fav) ** Special meatballs in tomato sauce — check! **Ooey goeey burrata with hot pepper and crostini –check!(Delish) **Vongole alla marinara– check! ** Fried risotto balls??? check! ***Margherita pizza with tomato, basil and mozzeralla di bufala — check!(Yummm!) **Romana with anchovies, goathorn peppers and mozzarella — chec **Corono di Capra with housemade sausage, pickled goathorn peppers, garlic– check check! ***Funghi pizza– with homemade sausage, tomatoes, pecorino & fontina? check check check! We didn’t get any drink but we did see a good wine/drink list. Ended that meal(s) with delish desserts! Yes, plural. Desserts! Affogato with espresso– yumm. And some marscapone thing that I can’t recall. My favorites from this pizza joints are definitely their small plates. Their pizzas are good but I think the small plates are much better in flavors. Get one, get all. Can’t go wrong in such price point either. Margherita pizza was delicious but the other ones I tired are a little salty for my tastebud. I also prefer olive oil based pizzas with seafood/shellfish/eggs over tomato sauce based pizzas. That being said, I’d happily come back here and eat small plates instead of pizza. Small plates, some wine, candle lit atmosphere, casual vibe, few slices of pizza and their desserts =a happy meal for me! So happy, I’m writing this while I’m eating. Yumm yumm. Aright. Back to eating my pizza :)
