The absolute best indie label ever! What an amazing inventory of great releases through the years — too many to mention. They have been a major contributor to rebirth of Seattle indie music. People will always think of SubPop when it comes to Seattle but the smart folks know Barsuk has always been where its at.

Thanks so much for signing Death Cab for Cutie– without you, I’d be without my favorite band, as well as, I’m sure, many other bands I like that have been inspired by DCFC’s great sound. I know you lost them to the majors, but you’ll always have Transatlanticism to pay the bills at the label. Thank you Barsuk! Aside from Death Cab, these guys have got some other rockin’ bands on the label– Rilo Kiley, John Vanderslice, Nada Surf, and last but not least, They Might Be Giants. Barsuk has had a major role in the Seattle music scene in the past decade, and I’m sure that without these guys, Seattle as a scene wouldn’t have been as big!

This indie rock label goes out of its way to please its loyal listeners and customers. Their website is easy to navigate, sometimes there’s a handy little 10% coupon included in the discs of bands on its roster. Every time I order something from this label they upgrade my shipping to priority even if I click standard and it comes with stickers on the release date. So freakin fantastic. Now if more businesses came with this work ethic we’d be in good shape. If you’re a fan of Death Cab For Cutie, Nada Surf, The Long Winters, John Vanderslice, etc. go visit barsuk’s website and prepare yourself to be impressed.
