This is the first one-star I have every given but this was truly an awful experience. I would never go again. We went to see the B52’s and got there early and found a place on the lawn. But we were on the wrong side of the aisle and the train of people crossing in front of us never stopped. We could not see the opening act. The volunteers did nothing to stop the steady flow of people crossing in front of us and whoever else was unfortunate not to be ahead of the entry aisle. In fact the volunteers themselves were part of the problem — stopping and chatting with people crossing in front of us. The opening band sounded good but it would have been nice to see the concert we paid for. We could not see the opening act through the train of people. We did not see or hear the B52’s. The concert was supposed to start at 6pm but we left at 7:22 pm and still no sign of the band. We had headaches from the recorded booming music. If we had wanted to listen to recorded music we would have stayed home. As we were leaving one of the volunteers told me that the band was scheduled to play at 7:15 pm. Really? Our tickets said 6:00 pm and we got there early so we were there ~2−½ hours and did not hear the band. What a disappointment and no refund either! BECU zoo tunes has a no-refund policy. I think the whole idea is to get you to buy the $ 11.50 burgers while you wait. I heard plenty of commercials for BECU while we were waiting but would but I have a very negative feeling about them after this experience.

Will not give this zoo money for a concert even if it were my favorite band. Go see music where there are no animals on display in cages.

The Zoo concert series always has a quality group of performers every summer to entertain you and the family. Outside of getting tickets early here are FRANKS tips for a successful Zoo show. #1 bring picnic, blanket & mini folding ing chairs.(sitting on the ground is harsh on the best of backs). #2 get there early cause there’s only so much grass and people claim it fast. #3 if you don’t follow tip 1&2 go straight to beer garden and hang out there it’s the last hallow ground and there no kids to pester you. The zoo always has local brewery’s handling the beer garden and catering those who are hungry. The amenities you’ll discover are worth waiting for so don’t pre-funk before you enter… Now for you knuckle heads this does not mean you can see the animals with your concert ticket. There off limits cause alcohol and killer animals don’t mix well. The lions & bears are behind barriers for a reason. No need for a selfie when your drunk. Cause nothing good happens at that point! Enjoy your show and be safe.
