On my first visit, I was there to buy multiple bottles of wine. I had selected one and placed it in my reusable shopping bag in order to carry it, and eventually more bottles, to the register. Before I found another bottle, an employee told me I had to take the first bottle out of the bag. I was confused and didn’t do so immediately. In response, the employee told me that I had to leave the story because«he saw me on the camera put the bottle in the bag.» Well, duh. I explained that it was my shopping bag, I was going to buy multiple bottles, and I only have two hands to carry it all to the register. The employee did not back down and I decided that Benson’s does not deserve my business. City Market it is.

The owner of this store is one of the nicest guys I’ve encountered as a customer somewhere. He always has a kind word and a smile, and offers to help you out without being overbearing. It’s awesome, and I love that there’s a little corner store nearby that I feel good about going to when I’m, say, craving orange juice at one in the morning. Plus, the wine selection in the back is phenomenal — who knew? Prices can be a little high sometimes, but, in all fairness, you’re supporting a mom and pop shop instead of the QFC up the street. Thanks for being around, Benson’s!

Do yourself a favor and check out the new wine section. They have an amazing selection at great prices — I can go anywhere to find the same overpriced bottle of Columbia Crest, but starting around $ 8 at Benson’s, I can find truly unique offerings from around the world. Don’t worry though, if wine isn’t your thing, they also have a great selection of malt liquor at rock bottom prices. And yes, the staff really is amazing!

Extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY nice staff! I love their selection on just about everything. I work super close to Benson’s, so if our office or I need anything, they usually always have it. My only gripe is prices are a bit on the high side, but with no other stores that close by I do not mind paying a higher price for location. There are quite a bit of creepers that walk in and out with their«brown paper bags» in tow, but over all I give the store 2 thumbs up!

Great selection for a corner store! The employees are super sweet and the owner is an amazing man! I always bring my two dogs to the store and the employees are always ready with a treat for them in hand! :)

They sell like 10 different kinds of Cup Noodle at less than a dollar each, so I am a fan. They also sell all of your hangover staples: blue Gatorade, Gardetto’s Original Chips, brown sugar/cinnamon pop tart, string cheese, Odwalla orange juice, and peptobismol. Those are the standard remedies, right?

Ah, Benson’s Grocery. Good place to buy that roll of TP when you’re thinking, «I just ran out of toilet paper!» Be prepared to get hit on by whino homless dudes– my Dad got offered crack here, and I’ve been propositioned for sex a half dozen times by the homeless guys that live in the Covenant Church basement. Guys who work there are nice, and everything is decently priced.

I just moved next to Benson’s and figured it was a tiny little corner store. It’s actually slightly larger and, like City Market a few blocks away, offers some useful household goods alongside their pepperoni sticks, condoms, and Campbell’s Soup. You’re set if you are ever in dire need of a whisk and beer at 11 pm. The guy working at the counter when I went in was quite friendly. However, within the span of five minutes, my personal space was invaded by two creepy, crazy dudes and like most convenience stores, the prices are pretty high. The place will do in a pinch but I’d recommend walking five more minutes and going to City Market for your spur of the moment needs.
