Bob’s Lake City Liquors

I loved the Spaghetti House and I love Bob’s. #1, reason, it’s a local «mom and pop shop».
reason #2, I am a bourbon drinker and they have a GREAT selection of bourbon including some rare and highly sought after bottles that are very hard to find & can’t be found elsewhere, reason #3, their prices are very reasonable, in fact many of their bottles are priced much lower than other stores if you can even find them elsewhere. and finally, reason #4, their staff are knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to shoot the bull if that’s the mood you’re in. Oh, I almost forgot, reason #5, they have book matches left over from the spaghetti house days they are more than happy to share!

I really like this place. I mainly go for good IPAs and decent ciders. They have an amazing selection of beer, VERY reasonable growler prices (I think they have almost 12 taps in the back now?). Bottle prices are not the best but the selection is still awesome. They staff knows their beer and cider well (could really care less about EU liquor knowledge) and have a huge selection of Bourbon.
Anytime I’m in the area I stop in for a few bottles or a growler fill (they have Boneyard on tap frequently, so hell to the yes!)
I wish they’d figure out how to arrange the beers better, but that’s pretty minor since I usually just ask or take my time meandering.

I like Bob’s– its convenient for me to access on my way home from work, their selection of local liquor and bottled beer is impressive for their space, and the people who work here are nice, and also don’t make you feel weird for asking questions about the product they carry. Their selection of nonalcoholic mixers is small, and while they have the pretty standard Cuervo margarita mixer, they also carry some good quality, smaller batch mixers that I’ve tried and have liked. The owners and staff are also very sweet, and the couple of times I’ve come in have made recommendations for future purchases based on what I was buying that were really spot on. I asked one of the younger guys working if they had any beer from Harmon Brewery in a refrigerated case anywhere in the store (they didn’t), but he quickly offered to order me some, get it chilled, and have it to me within 48 hours. When I declined, he immediately offered me a beer that he thought I’d like. Dude knew his stuff, it was a winner.
The prices for beer are fairly competitive in comparison to big box stores such as Safeway and QFC. Their hard liquor prices are a tad higher than the big bode chains, but in line with other liquor stores I’ve seen. Main couple reasons I can think of are A): this is a Mom and Pop shop, which I would much rather support, and B), big box stores usually have some sort of «price reduction with member reward card, price before taxes» type deal going on. So really, the prices are pretty across the board for small liquor shops. Plus, the service is much better.

Staff has limited knowledge of European spirits, and also limited selection of such. A small bottle I saw at QFC (including tax) was DOUBLE at Bob’s.

Great selection of liquor and very knowledgeable staff, I’ve never left the store disappointed.
The one unique thing about Bob’s is that the prices you see are the prices you pay, meaning all the absurdly high WA State liquor taxes are included. I’d be willing to bet a couple of negative reviews here didn’t realize that because the prices here aren’t that much higher then say, Bevmo or Safeway. But hey, if you want to save a couple bucks and shop at a monstrous chain store, go ahead. If you want to support a local store owned by Seattle natives, Bob’s is the place to go

I love Bob’s! They have a solid selection of beer and the staff are super nice people, always willing to chat about the products or whatever else comes up. I think it would be a good place to gift-​shop for specialty liquors.

I stopped in to see what kind of beer selection they had, as I’m a total beer geek. I found it varied and interesting, some of the same things you see everywhere but I saw some barley wines I hadn’t seen before and a couple of brewers I hadn’t heard of either. I found the pricing reasonable.
If you like beer this is a worth it stop to find something interesting.

I have to admit I was sad to see the Italian restaurant (that I never ate at once) go away for a liquor store, but hey, if you can’t beat em’, join em’. Bob’s is a step above the rest when it comes to customer service and transparency when it comes to liquor prices. Keep up the good work Bob’s!

I am not a heavy drinker, but I would much rather support our local stores. My husband and I will not buy our booze from any place that is not 21+. If you’re going to sell Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, etc. I don’t want a kid playing in the toy section two isles over. And Bob’s is local. ‘Nough said.
Yes, they might be a little more than the surrounding areas — but it comes down to SUPPORTING our LOCAL small businesses. Everyone is gripping about how we don’t support them and when we do the same people gripe about the pricing. Well, they’re not a national, or regional, chain. They have to bills to pay too.
So If shopping with them means I spend another $ 40 for supporting them, well so be it. Much rather give my money to «Bob thee doors down» then «Big national chain.»

i think this place is great, i thought other places were less $$ but by the time you check your receipt at costco and pay add taxes it’s not much different. and this place has prices listed with all taxes in price sooo the price listed is the price you pay out the door finally no games on prices great parking fast service local owners great job

I would like to share of how good of selection Bob’s has. Also I don’t think there is anywhere around that you can get in and out of the store so quickly. I am into service and these guys are really nice.

Went whiskey shopping today. First time in this store. I was the only customer, scruffy looking young kid who appears 18. I usually expect a suspicious demeanor from the staff in places that are 21+, however these guys (Brent the owner and the very nice woman) were friendly and receptive. They were attentive and fun to talk to, none the less. I was looking for something in my budget range and something that was from the Pacific Northwest, and I was glad to see they had an ample selection. It is a big store. I finally settled on a bottle, though interested in many other choices. They also have a really big cold case (beer and other chilled alcoholic beverages. Micro-​brew stuff, Jagger, etc.). Plenty of beer that is unrefrigerated, and a cocktail mixers as well! I am indifferent to the prices if the staff aren’t drones, but are real people whom you can have real discussions with.

This place is a waste of time. Poor selection and high prices. The product display is a total waste of space. Don’t bother.
