For solidly decent food, there’s no reason for terrible, douchey service… 18 hours in a smoker cannot compensate for rude people, an unapologetically poor layout, and generally marginal BBQ. A few small changes could make this decent spot really great, but disappointingly they don’t seem to care about repeat service, which in the Seattle area is a solid way to find yourself in the restaurant graveyard. I guess they chose a fitting name, I’ll gladly pour out a little bourbon when their bones lay in the ground of dead restaurants.

Really delicious! Every part of our meal was fantastic, from the brisket to the mac to the sausage. Our group was really impressed with everything, and we came for the happy hour drinks. Good whiskey sours! The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was portion, we all wished there had been more meat on the combo plate for the price. But it was super delicious and we would all come back! PS loved the mustard bbq sauce

So yummy. For 20 years I’ve been trying brisket, in 26 states, festivals and cook offs, Texas, Carolina, Kentucky, Montaner and colorada(sic), and this is definitely up there, some of the best I’ve ever had. Free eking deeeeliciousss. And the mustard sauce… I’d chew off my own arm to get sum! Waddayamean, «no hummus plate»?

Pretty good stuff. A little expensive for the experience; essentially you’re paying a Seattle premium to experience cheapo(but delicious) barbecue. The meat is great, the sides are pretty good, but everything is dressed up like a dive-bar roadside bbq joint– minus the price. $ 12 for a brisket sandwich with a side of slaw, another $ 6 for a side of mashed potatoes, and despite the premium prices, the food is delivered on some basic budget buns with sides of cheapo white bread. Again, that’s all fine, but the price was steep for what you get. Sauce game was kind of weak, too. Four types of sauces, the hot sauce was just Franks Redhot in a fancy bottle, the two sweet bbq sauces were pretty similar(but good!), and the mustard was alright. Nothing unique that really jumped out at me. Food was great though, but this is a pricey facsimile of roadside bbq. Prime example of paying extra to pretend that you’re cheap.

This was some smoken good meat here I know I’m in the right place when the working turntable is playing the Ramones Sheena is a punk rocker and the staff sings along all of the sauces are pretty darn good but the ribs seriously just slide off the bone its a great place for BBQ on that side of town my tastebuds made delighted noises as each bite went in the hushpuppies are delicious and greens are too good to be true

Might give this another try but the brisket was dry :-(cole slaw was good but very… mayo and mustard flavored. He pushed for Mac and cheese and I passed but it looked amazing! Next time I’ll get the Mac and cheese and try the chicken… miigghhttt give the brisket another try, seemed such a shame!

We ate here with a bunch of other people and got the back room, which is the wood shed with a table and benches… and string lights. Wasn’t bad, but reminded me of where my buddy used to slaughter his pigs. Fitting, I guess. I think they’re just trying to be trendy. The menu is cool, but I quickly realized it’s a select-what’s-premade-and-get-it-on-a-plate type of place. When you walk in, you can see it all in a glass case; they make the food continually, and just stack it in there. You select what you want, in whatever combination, and they stick it on a sheet of wax paper on a pan. Again, trendy. I don’t mind buffet/cafeteria style at all(I actually prefer it many times), but the jiggling meat got me a bit. A disclaimer: I’m not huge on meat in general, so maybe my review is biased. I got ribs, and they were not worth what we paid, at all. Should have gotten the brisket or sausage, because they looked really good. If I could have eaten it, I would have gotten the corn bread, but got the greens and beans. I thought they were pretty boring. The sauces made the meal work, but I had to douse the ribs. Some of our party didn’t take the half of their meal that they didn’t eat, so that either says something about the food or about the people. If you’re into whiskey, they’ve got a billion kinds, and some other drinks. Service wasn’t bad. The bathroom’s cool.

Long line and wait on a Saturday night. The smoked chicken fell off of the bone nicely and was soft. Hush puppies were dry and the cole slaw left more to be desired. My friend liked his pork shoulder. They have 3BBQ sauces which were all thin and bit runny, 1 tastes Carolina style, 1 sweet and spicy, and I cannot recall the other. You stand in line and order your food, then it is brought to you after a while, unlike places in Texas where you order your food at the counter, the meat is weighed and given to you on the spot. You can order drinks at the bar which is next to where you order and pay for your food. I also paid $ 21 for a plate of half smoked chicken, 2 sides, and white bread which more than I’ve ever paid for BBQ. The food wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. I wouldn’t go back for BBQ.

I had friend chicken, my friend had the brisket. We weren’t terribly impressed with either, but I’ve had worse. Their sides were very good, however. I am from South Louisiana so I was excited to see boudin on the menu! For those of you that don’t know, boudin is a sausage comprised of cooked rice, pork, onions, peppers, and a variety of other seasonings. Often times it is deep fried. It’s a unique treat and I ordered some immediately upon seeing it on the menu. I wasn’t expecting the best, but it was a very poor imitation. I would discourage you from trying it. I don’t think I was impressed enough to go back. The employees were nice, the beer selection was adequate, and the atmosphere was good enough, but I cannot say the same about the food they offer. There’s just too many good restaurants in Seattle for me to recommend this one in particular.

I think we just had a really STRANGE experience at this restaurant. Went in about 5pm today. Every table taken so that’s a good sign, right? Got the first table that opened, partner ordered dinner up front and we waited. Two top opened next to us. A younger couple who seemed very upset when they sat down took the table next to us when it opened up. Lindsey, the server was fantastic. She was doing her best under very busy circumstances to get everyone’s orders delivered. We wanted to try several items and the food took a lot longer than expected as we’ve done bbq all over the south. Lindsey delivered our food and it was good, we ate, had the leftovers packed up. What surprised us was the young woman in the couple sitting next to us. They ate in a hurry, barely spoke, then stood up and the male left, the female came up to us and berated us for having a table for four. She said she had people waiting to come to the restaurant but it was packed? Ummm ok. She reminded me of a screech owl and I realized she was obviously upset with life in general. NOT any fault of the restaurant. Her boyfriend had already walked out on her so I felt a bit sorry for her but not the restaurant experience we were looking for to relax at on a Saturday. Probably won’t return but wanted to thank Lindsey for her great service. Definitely an asset to the restaurant.

Great barbeque, some of the best I’ve had in the city! Portions were great, ambiance was noisy but awesome, lots of options on the bar side. A great combination of divey bar with quality food. Between everyone at the table I got to sample the pulled pork(very moist), hushpuppies(delicious), collard greens(not a fan, but they tasted good anyway), fried chicken(delicious), cole slaw and fried rice. The fried rice might be one of the best variations I’ve had, they use liver in the mix making it spicy and rich on the palate, an unexpected and delicious combo! The carrot-zucchini cake for dessert was enormous and delicious. Will definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone interested in a good BBQ joint!

Went with a friend tonight after I left Fred Meyer. What I can say is the place is very warm inside no air-conditioning so best you eat outside. The staff is not over friendly but the food was excellent the ribs were tender Very meaty with just the right amount of sauce on it the mashed potatoes were excellent the coleslaw was just OK The only thing I can suggest is maybe get a cashier who is a little bit more friendly but other than that it was an enjoyable experience and the music is excellent

Food is decent. I’ve been here twice and tried the ribs, fried chicken and pork shoulder. First time we ordered take out and it was good enough to come back. Second time around we came here after realizing that Drunky’s is closed Mon and Tues. We ate at the restaurant and the service was awful. I won’t be going back again. I stood at the register to order(after waiting for a server for 15 minutes we decided to be proactive) and was completely ignored. I am more than willing to wait, just acknowledge me, maybe say«hello» or «I’ll be right with you». You won’t find any southern hospitality here, that’s for sure. The one exception was the bartender, he was very friendly and helped me right away. Bottom line, the food is not nearly good enough to make up for the terrible service.

I think my #1 least favorite thing is when you’re so excited to eat somewhere and then your expectations are so quickly deflated that you go home and eat Cheetos for dinner Food: several of us shares a brisket plate which came with two sides(we got collard greens and Mac and cheese) and pickles and white bread. The brisket was awful. Like, hands down the toughest, least flavorful, all around gross meat. Greens were ok– not my fave. I actually did like the Mac and cheese sauce, but the pasta was overcooked so it was mushy. Honestly the pickles were my favorite thing on that plate. We also got a ½ order of ribs. Again– not good. The absolute fattiest ribs I’ve ever had. 4 people shared all of this for a dinner and we didn’t even finish it because no one wanted to eat it… We literally fed the food to a random dog of the people sitting next to us. Also in my mind, this place was super expensive. Th aforementioned food(no drinks) was $ 40. And it was gross. And we didn’t even want to finish it. I’m giving it 2 stars for this reason: the smell is out of control. Walking by all you can smell is the smoker and meat. I would pay them just to smell. Second, it’s nice that you can sit outside at bad jimmys and drink awesome beer and get their food. But maybe next time I’ll just order pickles?

This place is just ok. Would I return? For the price, probably not. My girlfriend and I split a $ 15 plate composed of pulled pork and two sides(mac and cheese, collard greens w/ham). At $ 15 the pulled pork plate was the cheapest plate option they had. The pulled pork had a good smoky flavor but it was VERY pink to the point where my girlfriend asked if it was ok to eat. It didn’t have any sort of sauce it was just a whole lot of meat. The mac and cheese was shell pasta in an odd white cheese sauce. The collard greens were pretty good. Overall, nothing was super impressive. And the whole meal was served with a plain piece of white bread(untoasted, no butter — what’s the point?). It took about 30 minutes to order and get our to-go plate. They have an excessive number of young hipsters working behind the counter all trying to compose one order and getting everything mixed up in the process. It would probably be more efficient to have one person assembling each order but hey, they managed to get it together after a while.

Pretty good BBQ place. I came here with 5 other guys on a Friday night around 8 and it wasn’t that bad. We waited about 5 – 10 mins for a group of people to leave, but the place filled up quickly while we were there. My group ordered a pound of everything: brisket, sausage, pork shoulder and the ribs, a large order of hushpuppies and mac and cheese. This was enough food for 6 guys to not overly stuff us(had to save room for drinks). They had $ 8 old fashions and Sazeracs during happy hour and we had several of those before heading out to our next spot. Food: The ribs and brisket were my favorite. They were seasoned very well, juicy and tender. The other meats were good too, but it didn’t stand out for me. Hushpuppies came with a side of sweet butter and they were one of the best ones I’ve ever had. It was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The mac and cheese was pretty standard. Service: it was as bad as some reviews on here. It’s not a restaurant, it’s a you go up and order place. Overall, I recommend trying this place. It’s loud, fun and the food is amazing!

There are certain steps you must take to eat here. I had no idea and looked like an idiot standing in the tiny«lobby“while the cashier gave me a stink eye. 1. Grab a menu. I’ll tell you why. 2. Grab a seat as fast as you can! It was busy. Take that menu with you so you can decide. 3. People don’t serve you. Decide what you want and have sugar daddy/mama stand in line where said stink eyed cashier will ring you up. –1. I forgot this step. Use the water closet before you come here. You’ve been warned. 4. Bus your table from the table before. I’m not sure if someone was supposed to clean the tables. I put the glasses and napkins on the bar. I’m sure wiping the table with a dry napkin was fine. 5. While your sugar daddy/mama stands in line to pay, get drinks at the bar. It’s separate. There was no water from the provided water jug so just get some PBR’s. That’s practically water. 6. Finally! 15 – 20 minutes later, you can be together with the people you came with. 7. Food consumption begins… (Sorry, this review is so passive aggressive. I just don’t know how I feel about this place). Favorites /Mac n cheese and white bread. People in Seattle don’t eat just plain, white bread! It’s great! We should do it more! Good /Pulled pork with a side of pickles. The pickles, I say! Mediocre /Ribs. Mashed potatoes. Bad /Fried chicken had a nice crunch but absolutely no salt/flavor. I drenched it in 2 bbq sauces, hot sauce and cheese sauce extra from the delicious goopy Mac n cheese– the method satan used to make sin feel so good. So I had mixed reviews. It was extremely unsanitary but I liked everything that wasn’t a main course.

Ballast point sculpin on tap, little too pricey, the chick up front was not nice to me. Overall a good time. The pulled pork reminded me of southern Rudys from Texas. But like the spirit of seattle lives, the music in here was some hipster 80s bs or something. Chick at the front is having a cell phone conversation at the moment. Their t shirts need work. Parvis, that’s all I’ve got.

Recently visited for dinner and drinks. The place has a quaint atmosphere and various music that adds to the theme of the restaurant as a southern BBQ joint. The establishment was a bit on the used side but the Fremont area is known to be historic after all. I ordered the Meat and 3 meal to experience a variety of foods while I was visiting. The mac and cheese was memorable and delicious! The greens were flavorful and tasty as well. The pulled pork was the best on the plate with the balance of taste and moistness. Then the brisket was next. The sauces they had provided were the highlight of my meal overall. The mustard like south Carolina sauce made things easier to eat but one of the chicken selections were extra dry and tough. The other fried chicken(the lighter one) was juicy and tasted yummy. Not too impressed with the food actually, since I like my BBQ to be a bit more juicy rather than plain. The prices were not all that cheap and the food was not all that great. Overall, I would have given a 3 star but the service was fantastic and friendly. The clientele also added to the friendly southern atmosphere that I enjoyed here. As a total package, it was a nice warm home like experience that made me feel welcome and comfortable.

As the name says, this is a combination of a whiskey bar and a BBQ place with a comfortable ambience where you can settle in and just relax; especially if you sit at the bar. Nice think about B&B is you can eat in or carry out. I was over at Bad Jimmy’s enjoying their 1st anniversery and decided to try B&B. You walk in and immediately feel the intimacy and warm lighting mixed with the smell of smoked meats. I immediately felt relaxed and have to say the atmosphere is one of the best for my taste. You pick from a menu above the cooking area that is basically mixed into the bar, dining area and cooking area all within 20 feet. This is a small place and I can see where it can fill up easily; nice they have a back dining room for private parties and overflow. I had the brisket and got a taste of the pork ribs while lusting that I should have tried the smoked sausage. The meat is top notch and I enjoyed it and the sauces; a tomato based one and a yellow mustard based Carolina sauce. The sides are solid, but I’d focus on the meat and drinks and kind of ignore the side dishes as they distract from B&B’s strengths. They have a solid bar and had some space dust IPA and tasted a few of their whiskey drinks, they must have made a dozen old fashions as I was sitting there. So, the best drinks are the whiskey ones; but hey I love space dust when I can find it.
