Just took the trip of a lifetime with my son to play golf in Scotland. All 4 flights we delayed… No reason given. Paid extra for seat assignment $ 600 in total. Leaving Phoenix they had my son and I not sitting together even after my on line check in confirmed the seats we paid extra to sit in. They moved us around and we sat together. Hassle then in London sat on the next plane waiting to leave for over an hour. Arrived late in Scotland. Coming home the flight was delayed and then had to file a new flight plan. HEAD up their asses. Got the London late had to walk over 2 miles to get to a shuttle bus that had a line out the door. They called for anyone that had a connection 1 hour or less. We went up there as we had an hour and 5 minutes. They turned us away since it was not less than the 1 hour. BULL SHIT. Finally got on the 3^rd shuttle and had to run to the gate about ½ mile away as they were boarding. Arrived in Phoenix and walla no golf bags. They told us they would be on the next flight arriving PHX at 5:30pm the next night and would deliver them to our house. NOTHING… started calling them at 4am got directed all around and had to call internationally to get again no answers. Finally after talking to a bunch of Indian people who do not speak proper English got an answer that they were on American Airlines. Called American airlines per British Airlines helper… They know nothing and can not track the bags using British air tracking number. Call BA again and got some lady that told me the bags were in Flagstaff last night around 11pm and they would be out for delivery sometime today. My son has a golf tournament today that we paid for 4 weeks ago. Looks like the bags will not be here in time. Called Flagstaff American Airlines and they confirmed they are there. She was going to call the currier and have him phone me. I called twice and she would not give me the curriers phone number but insured me he would call me. That was 2 hours ago. The golf tournament is at 11:30am today. Flagstaff is 1.5 hours drive. BULL SHIT

Do not fly this airline. They have lost my bag and can’t find it. I am so upset. They failed to deliver about 20 people’s bags on our flight from London to Seattle last Sunday. Tons of people didn’t have their bag show up. This is a terrible airline. Do not fly them.
Also we had the same experience as another reviewer on our flight from London Heathrow to Seattle. There is no air for your seat like most planes. It all just comes through a central system. It was so hot I felt like I was going to throw up and become claustrophobic. We had to sit on the plane for an hour with no AC as they were having technical difficulties. It was at least 85 degrees and we were sweating. It took an hour for them to start passing out water and it took another ½ hour to cool down the plane once we were in the air. It was such a miserable experience. I almost was ready to scream and demand to get off the plane I was getting so overheated and claustrophobic.

My husband and I flew from Seattle/​Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) on April 30, 2015, returning May 14, 2015.
The return flight (from LHR to SEA) would have rated about three or four stars. The outgoing flight (from SEA to LHR) rates massive negative stars, hence the one star review here.
The customer service on the return flight was okay, at least the flight attendants had smiles on their faces and were relatively responsive to our needs. The food was a little better than on the outgoing flight to England, but still not as good as some of the purchased food or first class food I’ve had on other airlines (Alaska or Delta for example). I understand, it’s airplane food, but from what I remember from flying as a child, I expected much more from BA. Either way, that nine hour return flight was bearable, almost good for such a long flight considering all the in-​flight entertainment options (tons of movies and TV shows, etc.).
However (and this is a BIG however), the outgoing flight to England was absolutely f***ing ABYSMAL. Hands-​down, worst flight I’ve ever been on, and I’ve flown a LOT.
My husband and I boarded, and almost immediately after we sat down, I started looking above my seat for the little air-​thing — you know, the little knob above your seat you’d normally find to turn on some fresh air for yourself. No dice. Really, BA? I have found these available on every other airline/​aircraft, not sure why they were missing on this one.
It was pretty darn hot on the aircraft, even after we took off. I took off my long-​sleeve and tried to get comfortable, but that wasn’t happening. The flight attendants came by, and the hub and I ordered a Bloody Mary each. We were served vodka and some kind of nasty tomato juice — YUCK.
Less than an hour after we were in the air, they came around with the food, which was just okay. I mean, airplane food, right? As they passed our meals to us, my husband requested another drink, and the stony-​faced flight attendant told him, «We’re serving dinner right now, but as soon as we finish, I’ll bring you another drink.»
Well, that never happened. In short order, they came and cleared off our dinner trays, and after that, we didn’t see a flight attendant for at least FOUR HOURS… and I’m not exaggerating. That wouldn’t have bothered me so much if they hadn’t turned up the heat after that. It was so hellishly hot for the next few hours that I seriously thought my husband was going to punch someone. Neither one of us could sleep, and I had one bottle of lukewarm water that we split between us in order to survive. It seriously had to be 90 degrees on that plane.
When the flight attendant did finally turn up to serve us «breakfast» about an hour or two before we were scheduled to land, I told her it was very hot on the plane and I requested some ice water. She told me they were «turning down» the heat and she brought me a cup of ice.
Funnily enough, I had bought a book at one of the SEA gift shops — Lee Child’s «Personal». In the book, he describes an airline practice known as «coshing» — where the flight attendants immediately serve drinks and dinner on overnight flights, then turn up the heat on the plane so that the passengers will fall asleep and not bother the flight attendants.
Reading that, in my hotel in London a few days later, I felt a burn… but it still came nowhere near the burn I felt while on that flight.
Never again, BA, never again!

Recently we sent our daughter to England with BA, and according to her, the experience was great. She had to fly shortly after a serious surgery and could not walk long distances or lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. The long flight — 9.5 hours to London then 2 hours in England — was not easy on her, but everyone was EXTREMELY (capitals are my daughter’s) nice, considerate, and helpful. She did not have to lift a thing, transportation between the terminals was timely and convenient, and everyone from the British Airways was super friendly. The only problem was mine when I had to change her reservation. I had hard time understanding the representative due to his accent (I think it was British Indian), but the change was easy and free. Best experience ever.

Don’t bother with ba fly virgin. Terrible experience. Booked flight from london to manchester ahead of time but plans changed so didn’t need the first leg of trip. This is after flying first class from SeaTac to london. Brother in law decided to pick us up in London and stay with him. Called ba to cancel first flight but was told if I cancel first leg the flight back was also canceled. So if I wanted to use my second flight that was already booked I needed to pay 500 dollars to cancel the first flight l. Both flights only cost 150 dollars so I will get another flight home. So sad they used to accommodate flyers.

British Airways is now overbooking the evening Heathrow flight and you may show up at Seatac and not have a seat. And to add insult to injury they outsource their ground crew so the people on duty have no ability to change your flight or issue refunds. Think twice about giving BA your business. #BritishAirwaysFail

I have a very hard time using my rewards. And when I do, they route us all over the place. It takes forever to get where you are going. And get this, we had to pay an extra $ 120.00 to be able to sit next to my husband. Can you believe that. This is an over seas flight. Get real. Fly any other airlines. Stay far away from this greedy corporation.

Great service from Seattle to Heathrow. Cabin crew was friendly and helpful. Sorry to say that the food was the usual airline fare but the drinks service made up for it. BA is my preferred airline from Settle to London.

Snacks are nice but the staff are so rude, people are tired and going there for make a rest but they are rude and noisy

British Airways is my first choice for flying to Europe.
Flying that long flight is better with the evening flight schedule. You don’t have long before bed time when you arrive at your destination.
They don’t turn the seatbelt light on all the time like Delta does.
Alaska Airlines mileage is another bonus.

Worst airline ever. I traveled from San Diego to London. The flight got delayed and I didn’t receive my baggage for 4 days after I arrived back home. The customer service is really bad. You should wait 30mins on the line and at the end they don’t have the answer. I don’t recommend flying with this airline.

My first flight in business class would have been amazing had I not gotten food poisoning from the improperly-​refrigerated foods on offer in BA’s Terrace lounge (their business class lounge) that I ate before my flight. I was very sick near the end of our flight — really, needing to make a dash to the bathroom to be sick WHILE LANDING is my definition of «Worst flight ever».
I called to complain a couple days after landing in London and was told that it couldn’t possibly be their fault and was obviously something I’d eaten at home earlier. Except my husband and I had eaten all the same stuff that day and the night before, and he was fine! So clearly it was from their food. Yuck.
As for the rest of the lounge, the bartender was outstanding — friendly and cool, he made delicious drinks for everyone and even stopped by with another drink that I hadn’t even asked for (!) based on just chatting with me for a couple minutes to find out what I liked. Great guy! Also, pretty much the only reason this review isn’t 1 star!
As for the rest of the Terraces lounge, there were nice, clean bathrooms, showers, and plenty of comfy chairs to relax in.
If you make use of BA’s club or first lounges at SeaTac airport, I would stick to freshly-​cooked (read: HOT) foods and not go near any of the deli sandwiches, salad, etc. that they’ve got sitting out (ALL DAY APPARERENTLY) unless you want a very unpleasant flight.
I know BA is the only carrier with a nonstop flight from SEA to LHR, which is why we flew them in the first place. But after this experience I’d probably rather fly another airline even if it involved stopping somewhere else on the way.

Dear British Airways,
I like you. I like you a lot, actually. However, you don’t offer inflight wifi which is totally unacceptable for 2013, especially for transatlantic flights. Even Alaska Airlines offers wifi on most all domestic flights *shaking my head*. This has bothered me for several years now. Get with it BA.

They did not clean the plane thoroughly. After I got my seat, I immediately saw a dirty napkin on the floor right below my seat. Besides that, there were jelly-​like stuff on the tray.
On both of my flights, they were out of pasta so I was forced to eat chicken with rice. They served meals from the front and end. So the ones sitting in the middle likely are left without any option.
What I like about it is that it was the only direct flight from Seattle to London.

I was travelling to London for work, and here for a weekend. I planned to stay in London and do some sight seeing, but then saw that there was a cheap flight to Holland, which gave me the opportunity to visit an old friend who’d moved there. So I bought my ticket, coming into London from Seattle, then (still on BA) going on to Rotterdam. When I check in at Seatac they were really concerned: only 60 minutes after arrival at Heathrow to get to the other terminal and my flight to Holland. And it was totally my mistake as I hadn’t realized that you need a minimum of 90 minutes to get across Heathrow’s busy terminals and ensure you and your luggage make the flight.
Nonetheless, the BA agent at check in got me as far forward as possible, so that when I landed I could be one of the first (economy) passengers off the flight. At that point I was resigned to not making the connection and losing my (very cheap) ticket. I got off the plane and saw a BA agent in purple holding a sign with my name. The airline had coordinated to help me get across Heathrow to the right terminal, and she accompanied me to the bus. She also rang ahead to ensure I’d have someone to get me through all the checks at the terminal and get to my gate, and let them know that I’d arrived and would be there. And, I got an orange ‘Express’ boarding slip so I could fast track through all the lines.
This was all totally unexpected, and something that was due to my mistake. But BA — from the Seatac agent at checkin, to the staff on the plane, to the crew at Heathrow did their utmost to help me make my flight. I got to the gate to find that it was running late, but would have made it anyway thanks to them.
Thanks BA, this was a wonderful surprise and I’m very grateful. Especially in today’s environment where airlines are cutting staff, cutting services ($ 25 for a bag, no food, grumpy staff who are overworked, etc) this was a brilliant experience.

I’ve done TONS and TONS of international travel for someone my age, but with borders becoming less of an issue, I have had just too many excuses to do so!
After living in Denmark for a year and a half, I decided to take some time back in Seattle before taking my MBA program in Bellingham so I booked some tickets from Hamburg to Seattle via London. I was happy to see that BA was the cheapest tickets offered, as I had never traveled with them before and I related it more towards Virgin Air as it seems to have a more ‘luxury’ connotation, than other airlines.
My flight to London was uneventful and I ended up traveling via wheel chair as I was only two days post-​op and couldn’t walk. After confirming wheel chair and special meal due to food allergies, I thought my flight would be great and looked forward to getting home.
After my ‘special’ dinner was served and everyone else got their food, I realized my plate had some of the same things even though it was specially marked on the outside. Some other sides, etc. had snuck onto my tray! Too late I only noticed this AFTER I had eaten the food. I talked to the staff but they blew it off and seemed to not understand the severity.
Traveling two days post-​op, in severe pain, crutches, wheel chair, AND being poisoned? I had no sympathy, no help, and no offer to even change my seating. Yes, although a luxury, it actually would have helped so I could have better access to a bathroom and potentially even have my leg up. If they had said sorry and tried to make it better, I would feel okay about it because mistakes do happen. After emails, calls, and complaints, I heard nothing back except a generic response that didn’t address the issue.
Too bad I have another flight coming up and I booked with them! Sadly, if nothing is improved, you can guarantee I won’t be flying with them again. :)

Biggest bunch of assholes on the planet. They screwed (/​stole) me out of 900 dollars. I will NEVER fly them again.

Whenever I travel, I like non-​stop flights. Especially, when the flights are longwinded like to the UK!
BA offers non-​stop flights to most destinations.
I like having a option to select my choice of meal on the flight being a veggie eater

Always was comfortable when flying with them for connecting flights from US to England to Greece. Great stewards/​stewardesses, and I’ve never had a problem with these airlines.

LOVED it! We were originally on Iceland Air (not a fan) and were headed back to the States when the volcanic activity restarted. Luckily we were able to be booked onto British Air fairly quickly and LOVED it (well, as much as I could since I’m not a huge fan of flying in the first place). They offer complimentary alcohol, headphones, and tons of movies! They also were seriously offering you something to eat or drink every 30 minutes. .. the service was definitely superb!
