This is what good authentic Mexican food tastes like. Fantastic. My only problem here was that I had to mime my order to the non-English speaking staff. :) They got my order wrong a lot, but I never complained because it always tasted good no matter what. The only other authentic Mexican food in town is off the taco trucks. I read a review on this place complaining that their meal wasn’t authentic because it wasn’t smothered in cheese and they had to pay extra for their cheese. Where in Mexico do you get food smothered in cheese, beans and rice? Come one people — go to Mexico before you claim to know what’s authentic and what’s not. From what I hear, though, they shut down or moved. If that’s true, it’s a pity.

Burrito Express is now closed. I was sad to see it go downhill but it was either time to rethink their business or close.

When did this place start to suck? Seriously? I went today, hoping to get a quick dinner as I prepare to move and have about a gagillion things to do… I spent over 7 dollars on a horchata(still good) but the 3 chicken soft tacos were soooooo small. I wished I had stopped at Taco Del Mar, they have great fish tacos, decent price and consistent service and food portion. I’m disappointed, this place used to be a gem but they must have taken it to the pawn shop… sad.

Worst burrito ever!!! I ordered the vegi grande burrito, it was shaped like a football. It was so big that the tortilla hardly reached around the stuff inside. The inside contained 75% black beans, 20% rice, 5% random otherness. I had to scour the thing to find anything but was left stumped. It had a better home in the trash than my stomach It was disgusting!

Burrito express is a little shack, with some table outside for eating… inside there are a few stools to sit down while you wait for the food… Service has always been friendly to me… the food is good. the quesidilla are great and very messy… and the tacos are good choice as well… Like someone noted before… you can miss it easily on 15th ave né, and its not the cheapest, but they are fast here, and it will fill your tummy… and a happy tummy is a good thing

The positive first, they have Horchata! Basically, it’s rice milk flavored with cinnamon. Doesn’t sound to great from the description, huh? But trust me, nothing beats a tall glass of Horchata on a hot summer day. Anyhow, this place has this, plus some other homemade drinks that I haven’t tried yet. I also like that tortilla soup and a pretty large burrito is about $ 6. The soup was pretty good, nice and spicy but not to the extent that it drowns out all other flavors in the soup. Now the negative. The burrito I had was merely OK. Now granted, I ordered the cheapest burrito on the menu however I was a bit put off that the rice in the burrito had peas and carrots in it. It seemed like they got ahold of some Chinese restaurant’s old fried rice and decided to use it in their burritos. Certainly though, this place is worth stopping by if you’re in the area and need to get some cheap and fairly tasty food. Just avoid the stuff that has rice…

Have you been to Mexico and eaten real Mexican food? No, I mean the stuff that isn’t smothered in cheese; the stuff that’s spicy and fresh. Whether you have or haven’t, drive to Burrito Express and try it. Now. I’m serious — go! The view from the outside may deter you: Burrito Express is located in an tiny old house that doesn’t quite fit next to the veterinary office and across from a giant Safeway. Nonetheless, step in and look to your left, where an extensive menu awaits. Once you’ve decided what you want, place your order«to go» — there are only a few stools inside and a bench outside. Though it’s nice to much at the picnic table during the summer, when it’s chilly most people prefer to take their food home. Everyone recommends the fish tacos, but I’m not a huge seafood fan, so I say go for the chicken enchiladas, a tamal(heaven!), or some tortilla soup. Everything has some kick to it, so if you’re a spice-wuss, order the mild and don’t dip. If you pride yourself on the fire in your mouth, though, go for the spicy stuff… but don’t say I didn’t warn you. Along with traditional Mexican food — made with fresh tortillas and all — Burrito Express also has traditional drinks like horchata and jamaica. Try a sample and you’ll be hooked. One of the best things about Burrito Express is that you get a healthy amount of food(another warning: the burritos rival those at Taco Del Mar) for a better-than-competitive price. If you’re ever near the Northgate area, check them out, then convince your company to do the same — they cater!

Quick, tasty and cheap. Not located in the most popular part of town but if you happen to be in the area, then swing by. Watch your tongue with the HOT! sauce. It’ll burn the taste buds right off.
