I went there for lunch yesterday and the service and food were great. Definitely a big step above your standard Azteca/Ixtapa/La Palmera type of restaurant. I will be back!

I go to this place pretty regularly. Mostly because it’s really close to my house. Food isn’t the best but I am a vegetarian so most of the stuff I get is pretty basic and easy. Tried to go there the other day two hours before their website and door said they were closing. When I got there they refused me service saying they were closed. This is 7 pm on a Saturday. Was driving by agin the next day and decided to give it another try since I really wanted a burrito to go. My mistake. Not even 1⁄3 into the burrito and start having awful stomach pains. Up all night with food poisoning. Obviously won’t be coming back. Sorry guys!

VEGETARIANSBEWARNED wife stop by for some take out on her way home. After clarifying that everything even their beans was vegetarian we ordered a vegetarian burrito and chile relleno to go. Arriving home I bit into a chunk of pork and the wife enjoyed a sampling of a rancid grease ball of a chile relleno. We promptly packed everything up and had to return our dinner.

Meh. I love Mexican food. My bar is not that high. The food here was totally mediocre. I had a steak burrito, which was okay, but not very much flavor in the meat, and way too much rice. Nothing spicy in it whatsoever. I had to pour all the salsa that came with my chips on the burrito. I got my kids a steak quesadilla, which they ate about two bites of. I had chalked that up to fickle children and their fickle appetites, but when I tried it I almost a spit it out. The beef was greasy, and tasted almost like it had gone off. How do you mess up a quesadilla? Anyway, I am still on the hunt for good Mexican food around here, because this place is certainly not it.

Just went here a couple nights ago and had the chicken mole plate and a margarita. Both were great. In a town full of increasingly expensive boojy hipster artisan BS restaurants, it’s nice to know you can still buy a really good filling meal for $ 11. Also you can listen to some sweet banda music here. I lived in Mexico for years and it’s tough to find real mexican food in Seattle. It’s easy up north or down south, but not right in town. This place will be my new go-to.

Delicious dinner after beginning the move. Tasty shrimp quesadilla, that made my gf squeal with glee. My vegetarian entrée was equally fresh and flavorful. Nice night’s meal, will certainly be coming back

Wanted a quick Mexican fix on Cinco, and this filled the bill wonderfully! Super fast to go service, great ingredients and HUGE burrito for the price. Will be back for sure.

Bad experience. Do yourself a favor and don’t go. I just ordered some to go food. When I got home I was missing a burrito. I called and asked for a refund. They said, come in tomorrow we can’t do it. Terrible service aside, the food is also bad. The al pastor in my burrito was so dry and gross I threw it out.

Good place for a quick bite or something to go! Friendly, fast staff. My pollo burrito loco had plenty of chicken and other goods. Yummy.

I used to go here all the time as a kid. Last night, I wondered, «hey, why did we stop going to Burrito Loco?» Well, apparently, it got bland. The place looks the same as I remember it from 10 years back, although now it smells a bit more chemically. The pops and I got a Picadillo Burrito and the Burrito Loco with pork. Both were very mild and flavorless, and the pork in mine was unevenly salted — some bits had no salt at all, while some of them tasted like they’d been dipped in brine. The chips were nice and fresh, but as for the salsa… well, you can either have the Flavorful-But-Not-Spicy verde one or the Spicy-But-Not-Flavorful red one. Take your pick. Overall, I suddenly understand why my family stopped coming here.

This place is absolutely disgusting. My girlfriend and I decided to stop at Burrito Loco tonight since we drive by it all the time and figured it was worth a shot. I knew there was a reason why this place always looked empty when I drove by. Upon first sitting down, I noticed that all we had in front of us was a napkin and a fork. I’m not that picky, but initially it kind of struck me in a bad way. Then, the chips and salsa come out. Absolutely no taste to the salsa besides spice. I mean come on, if a sasla is gonna be spicy at least have SOME damn taste to it. We both ordered the Burrito Loco with chicken. I knew upon seeing my plate that this was not your normal everyday restaurant. The burrito came out in aluminum foil like I was at Taco Del Mar or something. I expected this from a taco truck(which more times than not kick ass) but not at an actual restaurant. So we dug into our burritos. Hmm, I knew beans came on the burrito, but I got BEANS! Not even flavored beans. We’re talking beans straight out of the can and into my burrito. I think I tasted like 3 small chunks of chicken, if it was actually chicken. I ate about half of it because I was hungry. I filled up the rest of the way on chips and spice. The waiter, nowhere to be found as well. Altogether, this place is a joke. The service is terrible. The food tastes like absolute shit. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to get good mexican food. Try Jalisco’s in Lake City, you can never go wrong there. I’m just gonna drive a little further to go there from now on. Hope this helps, peace out!

The menu is pretty typical of any other Ameri-Mex joint across the land, which made it easy for me to feel right at home ordering something. Its atmosphere was pretty standard for its class. Our feast started out with ceviche, which surprisingly I had never had before. Weird, I know. Considering what it is, it could have been awful if its ingredients weren’t fresh. No problem there though. Now I have a new favorite appetizer to try at other restaurants. The Burrito loco w/chicken made the trip worthwhile. Next time I might venture into their seafood offerings.

I was kind of torn between a 2 and a 3 here. The food was good, not great. I ordered the VEGGIEMACHACA(Eggs scrambled with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and spinach. Served with rice, beans and tortillas). For what I am usually looking for it was actually quite good. Not greasy at all, mostly veggies and very little egg(again, more veggie less animal is me). The beans and rice were run of the mill, prolly same for the tortillas. My friend ordered: CHICKENENMOLE(Boneless chicken covered with our delicious mole sauce made of five kinds of dry chiles, chocolate, peanuts, cinnamon and plantain. Served with rice, beans and tortillas). Mole I thought was good but I have never been a huge fan, he loved it. Some sort of Mexican fresh cheese on his beans which is a nice touch, usually it is some sort of cheddar if I am not mistaken. The waiter remembered no cheese on mine which is a plus. The salsa was sort of watery and my guess is from a jar. The service was quick and polite. Weird smell as I first walked in but either I got used to it or it dissipated quickly. I did not check out restroom but while there I caught and killed one very large fly and one spider crawling across my table. I’ve seen much worse.

I used to like this place… but getting a band aid in your food is not a way to get my appetite going. Nuff said.

When we can’t decide where to grab a bite to eat Burrito Loco has become our go-to place over the years. It’s that kind of restaurant where you feel like you can go in whether you’ve been working in the yard all day or you’re grabin’ dinner before heading downtown to a show. Always casual and always happy to see you. Went in tonight about 8:30, the place was dead! What the??? They were surprised too. Said last weekend during Bumbershoot they expected to be dead and they were hoppin’! I had the Sopitos with chicken, wife had the Enchaladas Mole with chicken. Both tasty and served up in no time(well we were the only customers at the moment). I’ve never had anything at Burrito Loco that wasn’t good except one time years ago a salad which had fresh ingredients but just didn’t excite my taste buds. Even though ownership changed they kept many of the recipes from way back and they’re doin’ ‘em proud. Recently the place has been repainted and cleaned up. Go in, grab a table and have anything on the menu. Some of our favorites include Fajitas, Spinach Enchaladas, Burrito Loco(wet), Picadillo Burrito, Albondegas(great on a chilly winter evening), Chili Rellenos and some of the daily specials.

I have a confession. I’m an elitist when it comes to Mexican food. I don’t mean Americanised fare or Tex-Mex, the latter of which I love. I mean good and proper Mexican food. You cannot help it when you have lived in states that border Mexico nearly all of your life! When I started coming here, I would have given them four stars but it seems lately that their quality slipped a bit. Their prices are on the higher side and sometimes it’s difficult to wave your server over for refills or your cheque. It’s competently done Mexican food. The warm chips and fresh salsa are addictive. I give the horchata a resounding thumbs up. Sadly it’s not enough for me to endorse their food especially when there’s better choices nearby for a similar(if not cheaper) price point.

This place is supposed to be really good, so I kept on trying. Didn’t like the tacos. Didn’t care for the burritos. Didn’t like the mole. Finally found something I like, their chipotle cream sauce. You can get it with chicken or seafood, maybe others. It’s good stuff. Their chips and salsa are good too. Their price is a bit on the high side. Services is okay. The staff is friendly enough, and very laid back. Sometimes a bit too laid back, to the point it’s hard to get their attention sometimes. So, with one sauce and chips+salsa being good, price a bit on the high side, and okay service, it’s only a 3 star place for me. It’s not bad, and I’d go back, but it certainly can be better.

I gave credits to the décor and the services. The décor was colorful and welcoming and the staff was very friendly. Amigo gave good recommendation for food. And, he was funny! Being able to park in front of the restaurant is a big bonus! The chips and salsa were good. We really liked how fresh the salsa was and the cilantro was always the best! My friend’s friend who just came to Seattle the first time and never had Mexican food before. I thought it would be a great experience for him to try. I talked to the staff amigo, and he recommended the burrito. And, I ordered him a house Margarita. Since he never had Mexican food, he didn’t have any reference to compare to. Though, my girlfriend and I ordered Beef fajita and fish tacos, we were not impressed with the food. Why? 1) the beef was lack of flavors and no enough salt as well as chewy 2) my fish taco was good but not as good as it used to be. Something is missing in the dish that I was not able to tell.(I came here about two years ago when I lived a couple blocks away. The fish taco was the BOM!)

Best of Seattle book… you have failed me. This«Top 10» Ballard spot was looking to be the perfect late lunch, but it didn’t exactly live up to expectations. Saving grace? The staff were very friendly/ I’m spoiled with authentic Mexican food ringing out my ears in California, so I was hoping for something special from one of the few mexican eateries in Ballard. I was not disappointed with the succulent shrimp tacos(Tacos de Camarones), but the rice was less than desireable and the cilantro overwhelmed the platter. After placing our order, we were served with mounds of chips and salsa, but it was not enough to make up for a 20-minute wait post-order. It was hard to imagine that it would take that long to make the meal, but who knows.

I was rather disappointed in Burrito Loco, which was very sad because I had been very much looking forward to trying them out. I was kind of unimpressed with the interior of the restaurant portion. It was very cramped and in need of updates. From our table, the small bar area looked very nice and it was a shame the rest of the restaurant wasn’t styled in that fashion. Our waitress was nice enough and promptly brought us our food after we ordered. We did have to wait quite a bit to receive glasses of water, which was odd because we had already received chips and salsa quite a bit prior to that. I had the flautas de papa, which were okay, but lacking in overall flavor. I’m not sure there was anything inside of the flautas except for the potatoes, which led to a rather dry dish overall. I had to use guacamole and salsa quite liberally to add to the flavor and moisture of the dish. I was very unimpressed with the rice that accompanied the flautas because it had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. It disappointed me because I was looking forward to delicious, flavorful Mexican rice. Prices seemed quite high, especially for any dish containing meat. I was actually pretty surprised at the prices, since the place just seemed like your typical family Mexican restaurant. I would like to try this place again… perhaps I just chose the wrong dish?
