beautiful atmosphere. Appreciated the private parking. service was prompt & friendly. I didnt get our servers name, but he was personable & helpful. apparently pretty honest too, i asked about the con pollo sandwhich he said he wouldnt have it and suggested something else. i went with pollo anyway. it wasnt bad but after tasting the cuban and the steak sandwich i would have choosen either of those over the chicken. My sister from NY had the cuban with plantain and that was amazing !!! i would suggest that to anyone. garlic aioli was tasty and fries were fresh. the sandwich was pretty big. Lemonade was like homemade and YUMMY. food was legit and the bill reflected the quality. nice place to try. the dance floor looked like it is poppin’ on a weekend night! also the waiter was kind enough to put a chair in the ladies room to assest with a diaper change because they didnt have a changing station available, which i get because its pretty clubby and looking at the eating space in comparision to club space its definety more partying going on ! lol but i thought that was cool :)

Walked here from my husband’s work spot for lunch on the holiday week. It was about half full in the table section. This place itself is huge. There is bar, and dance area with booths/tables that must be fun at night. Server was friendly and helpful as I can’t say I have had cuban food very often. My daughter opted for a sandwich which she devoured. My son had the ham croquettes but was very bothered by the texture inside LOL! His fries were awesome though with the green sauce. I had a steak that was so good, the next time I want steak I will be coming here. My husband had a steak as well, but his was sirloin and thin. Mine was a flank and thicker… but oh, wow, the flavor was just amazing. The moros(rice/beans) were good. The plantains were ok, but I don’t know much about those or how they are supposed to taste. I will be back for the steak. My daughter had flan for dessert and it was the best flan I have ever had. Maybe soon I can come check out the night time experience.

One of Seattle’s best kept secrets! Everything I’ve ordered has been delicious! Will continue to stop by when I’m in the area.

Cuban sandwich was good but served with French fries not Plátanos Fritos(the traditional side) as much as I love the coffee the service is pretty bad(I’ve gone 3 – 4 times). The last time I ordered something from the menu they were out. The waitress was apologetic and truly insincere. While I was still there I heard someone else order the same thing and waiting to hear the waitress say they were out she confirmed their order. It would of been nice if she told me they had gotten some in. I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere.

Please imporve your customer service :(. I went in today, the female server took an order from the lady in front of me, then left me behind, and didn’t come back to ask me anything. I know you guys busy but that’s not how to treat your customers. Even they have a good deal from groupon but I won’t deal with this kind of business.

Not impressed! The food was very bland… No flavor… And wasn’t fresh. I used a groupon, but still feel like I over paid. Service was slow, but they were busy. I would not recommend.

I’m writing this live during my solo lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Place has a few tables, a pleasant buzz and nice music playing. I’m sitting near the front bar. There’s another back bar and dining room that appears more formal — black table cloths and whatnot. Honestly looks quite cool. My table is… sorta sticky. Not ideal. I’ve been here once before and the table was sticky then. Steak sandwich just arrived. Sorta a long wait considering the place is hardly slammed, but not outrageous by any means. The flavor is pretty nice, meat is a little tough. Fries are decent. All in all a decent sandwich, nothing amazing. Decent stuff. Nothing too memorable.

This eatery earned my ONESTAR. If my sandwich totals $ 9.32 and I give the server a $ 20 bill I EXPECTEXACTLY $ 10.68 returned NOT $ 10.00! What gives? This is the SECONDTIME in TWOWEEKS this has happened here in Seattle! It is MYCHOICE to give you the change as part of your tip. It is NOTYOURCHOICETOCHEATMEOFMYCHANGE! For this reason, no matter how much I loved my sandwich I will not do business with a thief and a cheat!

The best and only place for real Cuban food and cubanos in Seattle. Forget Paseo, forget the new«Un Bien» in Ballard — Café con Leche is the real deal. AMAZING pressed cubano sandwiches, amazing cilantro dipping sauce, great coffee, friendly staff.

I had a terrific lunch here last week. I ordered the Lechon sandwich and it was delicious. Lots of garlicky mayo, nice crisp romaine, tender and sweet roasted onions, succulent and juicy slow cooked pork, all on a wonderful soft roll(if this sounds familiar and a lot like another famous Seattle sandwich– keep reading). It came with a small side of fries and some extra garlicky mayo sauce. Service was prompt and hands off. When I needed water– it was there in a flash. Sandwiches are ~$ 9 each, there was street parking right out front. The Sandwich was very close to the famous Paseo sandwich– but smaller and not as sloppy. If you’re a fan of Paseo– the Lechon sandwich at Café Con Leche is worth checking out. They have given their own spin– and it works really well. This is a great little lunch spot to check out if you have a craving for Cuban food or if you dig Paseo’s famous sandwich and want to try someone else’s spin on it. I enjoyed it very much.

The food was great but this was up there with the lousiest service I’ve ever received. I grew up in Tampa and have been looking for a proper Cuban sandwich(with actual cuban bread) for a few years now. The food was great, the roasted pork was deliciois and the pressed cuban bread was just like I remember it. I’ll give the cuban a 4.5 stars but the quality of service was so poor that it really took away from the experience. First, even though there was only one other party dining, I had to go to the bar after 5 minutes of sitting down just to ask again for the water I ordered when I was seated. I had to flag down my server for my next two refills, and was never even offered a refill. This simple fact reflects an abysmal level of attention to customer care. Also I asked if I could have yellow rice w black beans instead of the white rice w black beans item. He said yes of course but instead i was brought an order of yellow rice and a separate order of black bean soup and was charged for both. Hopefully you have a better experience than I did because the food is legit.

I’ve been here a number of times because my wife digs it. She’d probably give it 4 stars. I think this place is great for on the go sandwiches. Just wish it was more accessible for grab and go. This is a place you want to go sit down at and enjoy a drink in. It’s really laid back. The sandwiches are all Cuban sandwiches and the options are varied. I like ordering out here now to avoid some of the wait. If you’re into Cuban sandwiches this might be for you. I think I like un-Cuban sandwiches more. It’s a personal preference.

Fun, solid place! The Saturday Salsa night is a great combination of good food and fun dancing. The pork and flank steak are definitely the best picks. The pork is prepared well and complimented by the delicious Cuban rice and beans. The flan is decent, and the drinks are strong. Lisandra was our server and she was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend the food and Saturday salsa night!

Love love love this place! I happened upon it over 1.5 yrs ago because of a Groupon offer and I’m so grateful and been a loyal customer! It’s authentic Cuban food, they have a nice menu selection and I seriously could eat here at least once a month! The service isn’t always the fastest depending how packed they get(and they do at lunch), but I’ve gotten lucky getting really nice servers who take good care of us each time. Now for the food: must get the croquetas if you want an appetizer as well as their side of fries because both come w/this amazing green dipping sauce that you’ll want to drink it’s so good! Luckily, you can now take it home for $ 5/small container! I almost always order the Masitas Fritas(normally an appetizer and I ask for it extra crispy) as my main course(it replaces the shredded pork), and comes w/Moros Y Negros(mixed black beans & rice), sautéed onions and omg I can’t even begin to explain how yummy the fried plantains are! The Cuban sandwiches are great too but I prefer the crispy pork. Don’t wait – go and try it and it’ll be one of your fave places! I really wanted to give them 5 stars but because they’re not open on weekends I can’t…but food is stellar!

I didn’t have much time for lunch to dine in so I decided to grab a Cubano sandwich to go. Be sure to check their hours of operation before you go. They are open from 11am– 3pm on most days. The place was clean and bigger than I thought with a lot of tables and a bar area. This Cuban sandwich($ 9) was more like what I’m used to growing up. Pressed very flat, pork, ham, swiss, pickles and mustard with nice Cuban bread. Tasty and flavorful and would get it again. Comes with fries and a delicious garlic herb mayo dipping sauce. Their menu looked good to come back and try other items in the future. I do have to mention that when I paid for my $ 9 sandwich, gave her a $ 20 bill, gave me back $ 10 in small bills and automatically short changed me a $ 1 for herself thinking I wouldn’t notice. Hahaha! Nice. You ain’t gotta be sneaky for me to break you off a tip. («Eso si que es»…it is what it is)

I’ve been meaning to check out this place for a while and well, I finally did. We ordered our food to go because we had to come back to the office. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait a long time, but I am not pleased with the customer service. The waiter wasn’t very nice and didn’t seem thrilled when we asked for recommendations. We ended up ordering something we had some knowledge of and it was delicious; which is why I’m giving them four stars. There’s plenty of street parking and the venue is cute and clean. I will definitely go back to try something else and hopefully receive better service.

Can you say pretty darn good Cuban food? Overall, I give this place 3 stars. Like some other reviewers, I came here with a Groupon, which ended up being a pretty good deal($ 10 for $ 20 worth of food). The restaurant has some strange hours of operation, with it only being open during the weekdays and even more limited hours on Mon — Wed. It might be due to the SODO location and lack of business need, but it’s a shame. The waiter was super friendly and he made good suggestions on dishes, since my friend and I were not sure what to get. After we ordered, the waiter offered to split our orders onto two plates to make it easier to share. We ordered: –Puerco Asado(roasted pork) entrée — $ 10.95 –Pan Con Lechon Cuban sandwich(slow roasted pork with caramelized sweet onions and garlic sauce) — $ 9.50 The sandwich came with a side of fries. The roasted pork had really good flavor and was tasty. I still prefer the Cuban sandwiches at Paseos, but Con Leche’s was pretty darn yummy. The service was a little slow, even though the waiter seemed nice. We waited a bit to get seated. The restaurant wasn’t extremely busy, but we also waited a long time for our bill, even after we asked and they took away our finished plates. *********** Overall, Café Con Leche is an option if you’re in the Sodo District with tasty eats.

We came for dinner. Empanada are deep fried and crispy on the outside. I’m used to a more doughy empanada. We tried both the chicken and beef. I preferred the chicken Entees PUERCOASADO Classic Cuban roasted pork. I really like this. Flavorful and well seasoned with tender pieces that fell apart with your fork. ROPAVIEJA Shredded beef… was way dry. Pass CHURRASCOTIMBERO Skirt Steak — perfectly seasoned, tender and medium cook. This was our favorite. I liked the sauted onions. CAMARONESALAJILLO Prawns, I really wanted more spice, maybe with a little kick to it. But we’ll cooked prawns. DESSERT FLAN– too rubbery for my taste and I thought the cherry was tacky. Service is quite terrible and slow. 20 minutes of sitting at the table before a server came. Luckily we ordered everything because who knows when the server would come back again. Then additional 25 minutes to get our appetizer, which came BEFORE our cocktails AND before we got water and silverware/napkins. Usually proper etiquette would be in the reverse order… We went for salsa dancing afterwards. Would be good if they cleared empty tables so there was more for dancing. Great live band!

Decided to try something new that we had heard about before the football game. This place is very good. The service was very friendly from the time we walked in the door and then we mentioned splitting a couple of plates and they brought it out split. I saw someone with an awesome looking plate and asked what it was and they suggested ordering it. The pulled pork plate was delicious, served with rice and the best plantain I have ever had. Along with that we had the cuban sandwich which was great and had very good fries serve with it.
