Refused to see my sick daughter because they don’t accept the insurance I have. Even when I was willing to pay out of pocket.

Why did I fall for a service like this you ask? Desperation is the only excuse. I was in bed with strep throat, had just moved back into town, and all the urgent cares were closed. I read the reviews that boasted about having a Rx written from the comfort of one’s bed, so I called. I asked the guy who answered the phone if the doctors could write me a Rx for antibiotics if necessary and he assured me they could. So I paid the $ 85 and a «nurse practitioner» named Kaitlyn called me back shortly. I told her my tonsils were swollen, I’d had a fever for three days, etc. She asked me about 20mins worth of questions from all across the board, predicted that I had viral pharyngitis, would start to feel a cold coming on in a few days(because you know, viruses mean colds and I didn’t have one so one must be on its way), told me that strep throat was only going around on the east side, the pain radiating in my ear wasn’t characteristic of strep, and no, she was not going to write me a Rx for antibiotics because she was not allowed to. I became very agitated because I had paid for a service under false pretenses of speaking with someone who could write Rx’s(and who actually knew what they were talking about and wasn’t just reading some computer generated diagnosis). So I was then assured by Kaitlyn that I would be given a refund. Well, after calling back the next morning and writing two emails I finally got a response from someone who said my refund had been processed and I would see it in 1 – 3 business days. Well, it’s been three days, and have I received my refund? Nope. Did I actually test positive for strep throat? Yes. And I got a penicillin shot the next morning at an urgent care. My advice: stay away from this service because it’s a scam! And you won’t be any better off than you were before you paid the $ 85 fee.

As good as it gets is really the way to describe this. I was on a business trip when I developed a serious inflammation in one eye. Thinking this is just the kind of thing they could diagnose over a webcam, prescribe eye ointment, and be done, I scheduled my appointment. What makes me happy is that it didn’t play out the way I thought it would, but it was great. I struggled to get the video thing working the way they said it would. Whatever this Adobe Connect nonsense is, didn’t end up connecting me face-to-face with the nurse. I’m as high tech as you get, but their side just wasn’t working. Ignoring that, the nurse called me right on schedule. We went through my symptoms and she asked plenty of reasonable and related questions. At the end of the day, she was not convinced this was the kind of thing that could be diagnosed without physically touching my eye and using the kinds of lights and things they’d have in a doctor’s office. The nurse helped me find a good walk-in clinic that was open on a sunday and reasonably priced(I have limited insurance in the US) and within walking distance of my hotel. So friendly and helpful. I went to the doctor she recommended, got treatment, and in fact it was a condition that needed a physical examination to correctly diagnose. Getting valuable medical advice at 6:00am in my hotel room, getting recommendations to local resources to follow up, and taking all my needs into consideration – that’s a lot done right.

Amazing. It’s 2:00AM on a Thursday night. I signed up over the web telling them my symptoms and a very nice woman called me back less than 5 minutes later! I was in a cab picking up my prescription less than 30 minutes later. Thank you CareSimple! Lisa Robinson was the ARNP that helped me — she was fantastic.

This service is pretty amazing, actually, if you don’t have a life-threatening emergency and just need basic health guidance without the need to visit your local health provider. I was having terrible back pain and needed a consultation, hopefully along with some meds. I filled out the online forms, requested a consultation, and was called within 20 minutes. The practitioner was very nice, very caring, and went over all of the necessary steps I could take to alleviate my lower back pain AND even offered to call in a prescription to my local pharmacy. Since your first time introductory fee for using the service is only $ 10 you really cannot find a better deal elsewhere. I am definitely a fan, and would definitely use this service again in the future for situations not needing an actual doctor’s office visit.
