I had called ahead and made an appt a few weeks ago. Parking wasn’t too bad, I found free parking on the street, luckily it was Sunday so it wasn’t too busy. The salon is on the 2nd level of a larger corner building and once I walked in I was greeted right away and offered fruit/mint-infused water. I also filled out some paperwork while I waited briefly. Sarah then came out to say hi and she took me back to talk about my hair. I had some pictures to show her and she understood what I was looking for. I got an amazing scalp and shoulder massage with Shampure essential oil and then I got my hair washed which is always my favorite! Aveda has some of the best smelling products so I was loving it. Once back at the chair, Sarah started to clip away at my long locks and I loved her attention to detail. She was also very personable and fun to talk to during the entire appt. Once she was done with my hair she let me take a look to give my final approval. I was absolutely amazed, she’d listened to everything I’d wanted! Sarah is a junior stylist currently so her haircuts are $ 40 which is a great offer and she knows her stuff. I’ll definitely be back here for my future cut or color needs.

My first appointment with Erika was in March 2015(I gave her a 5 star review); I got a cut every 5 – 6 weeks & was never disappointed. She told me about the reward system called Aveda Pure Privilege in Oct. 2015; 10 points for every $ 1 of products purchased could be discounted on services. I signed up that day and made a large product purchase and purchased more in Nov. The person that keyed in my information assured me that I was signed up and the all purchases had been input into the system for Oct. & Nov. I asked how many points I had accumulated and was told I would get a card in the mail and would need to get onto the Aveda website and input the number on the card. I had an appt. in early Jan. and wanted to use my rewards points. I called Aveda, but my information was not in the system by name, email, or phone number. I was disappointed, then angry because someone dropped the ball after I was assured my info was in the system. The reason I wanted to join the reward program was because $ 85 + a big tip for a haircut is expensive. I feel the reward program needs to be revamped: let clients know about it immediately; also, too many people are involved in handling the«paperwork» for the purchase of products for rewards points — even one client falling through the cracks is too many and I don’t like being that client. I cancelled my January appointment at Caruh with no reschedule.

This is the best hair salon where you will get absolutely gorgeous look and full pampering-neck and hends massage with aroma oils by your choice. This place was highly recommended and I decided to give it a try .My hope was to see that my bad highlights with left dark roots made at Derby hair salon are fixed and to see my hair start healing after the damage. Alexa was my hair stylist and she does not get only 5stars she deserves the whole constelation! Firstly she showed me. different pictures of highlights and asked me which one I like the most, then she made 3 mixtures of colors and patiently did the work over my bad looking hair. She gave me hend massage and neck massage as part of her service and I felt so pampered. She made the best highlights I always wanted! I love the way I look and I keep getting compliments how beautiful is my hair color!!! I highly recommend Alexa like the best hairstylist!

When I got my haircut at Caruh a while ago, the stylist kept leaving to go do a wedding consultation. I just needed a simple cut, not a color or anything fancy. But she kept excusing herself and leaving me to sit in the chair with combed down wet hair for up to 10 minutes at a time. By the time she came back, she’d have to spray down my hair again. She’d cut it a bit, then off she’d go for another 10 minutes. I hadn’t gone back until today. Thinking to give them another shot, I first tried booking an online appointment but was completely put off about having to give them a credit card in the sign up process. After all, they were about to charge me $ 90 for a cut and an experience I hadn’t even had yet. So I called and booked an appointment instead. Today I arrived, ready for my haircut — only to find out that I had no appointment. Nope. I wasn’t on the books. The best they could do about it? «Sorry about that. Want us to book you another appointment?» Even when I tried to pass on feedback they said, «Yeah, I bet this was really frustrating.» So if you do actually make an appointment, there’s a good chance that even after you hang up, make plans around getting there and paying for parking, arrive at the desk, ready to go — they won’t be. And if you actually do get to sit down in the chair, maybe — just maybe — your stylist will give you the attention you deserve. If not, «I bet it’s really frustrating, isn’t it?» Lots of people in Seattle want to cut your hair. Go to them instead.

This is the best haircut place I’ve ever been to. My hair always looks perfect plus they give you tea, a shoulder rub, hand massage, and a hot towel.

I wound up here by accident, to be honest. Another salon close by had a booking snafu and I walked in desperately in need of a cut ASAP. This place really struck me as a salon that was more appropriate for an older clientele and Aveda products are generally out of my price range, but I just needed a cut, so I went in. The woman at the desk was extremely kind even though I am so NOT their target market and luckily got me in for a slot within 45 minutes(!!) which was a blessing because it was Sunday morning. When I returned for my time slot they offered me tea and blackberry-mint infused water, took my coat and in a few minutes Natalie was with me. They start off with an amazing scalp massage with your choice of scented oil, they did up-sell a protein treatment which I was desperately in need of, but the cut was fairly priced and I used the $ 20 off check-in offer anyways so I figured, why not? Treat yo’ self! Natalie gave me a hand massage and a wonderful shampoo(is there anything better then getting your hair washed?) and the cut was perfect. I went out afterwards and got a number of complements by a bunch of girls on the hill. I’ll definitely be back to see Natalie, I would highly recommend her to anyone. She was sweet and did everything I asked, even without reference. It’s hard to find a good stylist, much less one who is close and fairly priced. I am extremely grateful for the stroke of luck that brought me in. Thanks ladies!

The spa experience(brow wax) with Ashley was wonderful. She is has a great personality and her skills were definitely worth the cost of the service. My haircut on the other hand, not so much. I had clear expectations of what I wanted and they were not met. I was told while booking that my stylist would be dry cutting my hair and to come with it styled the way I wear it. That didn’t happen. I told my stylist it had been a while since my last cut so I want it taken way shorter(bob style). That didn’t happen. Instead I got maybe a half of an inch off my hair and I paid $ 85. I was floored. Beautiful salon, but I can’t ever imagine paying $ 85 for a haircut unless is was PERFECT.

Have always had a great experience at Caruh and would recommend it to men and as my wife and daughters continue to come back for color and cuts they’ve been very pleased as well.

I absolutely love this place. It is so relaxing. I know that some people are turned off by the long appointments, but I love them. I only get my hair done every 5 months or so and really enjoy the lengthy appointment which includes the hand and scalp massage. I never feel like they are just rushing through my appointment to fit another client in.

I’ve been going to Jessica at Caruh for my color since 2011 when I moved to the Seattle area. She is a brilliant colorist with a knack of knowing what will look best and be the best for my hair. I am a natural blonde with curly hair, so I am pretty used to being a «high maintenance» client. She turned me from a blonde to a red head & I am constantly getting compliments about how natural it looks. I love the products and the spa experience Caruh has to offer. Great scalp and shoulder massage — as well as hand massage while you are being rinsed :) I do have to get a touch up every 5−6wks and it’s not cheap, but honestly, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my color. I know Jessica is going to do an amazing job every time. I highly recommend Caruh Salon and Jessica for color.

I love Caruh. I go every 5 weeks without fail. It is the best thing I do for myself on a schedule. I love Ashley Biggerstaff. My hair is always perfect. I trust her with my hair and it care. I am so relaxed when I just think about getting there. I feel my relax as I walk in the door. And them the infused water or tea, the massages shoulders and hands. The scents of the place. I recommend it highly and tell my friends all the time. Go to Caruh!!!

Fantastic first time experience at Caruh! This is a review for their style service, not a cut or color. I booked my appt to receive a simple blow out to look a little more polished for a friends wedding that night. I have long, thick hair that’s weirdly half curly, half wavy, and mostly frizzy and coarse. So usually a professional blow out helps a lot. My appt was with Courtney, an assistant who had recently started at Caruh. After just a few minutes discussing the service, she put me right at ease knowing I was going to leave with exactly the look I was going for. She’s incredibly sweet and knowledgable and I really enjoyed my time with her. Service started with a lovely aromatherapy head and neck massage. Then off to wash my hair with the wonderful Aveda products(during which Courtney gave me a nice hand massage). When it came to blow drying my hair she told me about a neat trick she learned in beauty school that she would use on me. Instead of the typical round brush styling that most blow dry bars do, she was going to use some lightweight gel in my hair, blow it out flat, and use a large round curling wand and pin my hair to set. I was slightly apprehensive, but the final product was so much nicer than a blow out. I left with beautiful big round waves that highlighted my balayage color in a really wonderful way. I walked out feeling like a Victoria’s Secret model! And it lasted all night long! Also, the service was $ 30, less than a blow out at Swink or Dry Bar and you get so much more. Courtney is a great addition to an already fantastic salon experience. I’m really looking forward to seeing her again(when she is done training she will be doing cuts and color). Thank you Courtney and Caruh!

My first visit to this salon and it was one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had. I just wanted a trim and some of the weight taken out to perk up the texture — really basic maintenance. Instead, the stylist chopped off way too much. Now, it stands straight up in the back and my bangs are always hanging in my face. It’s not like she gave me a good haircut that I just don’t personally like — it’s all so short and choppy that it won’t do anything presentable. I definitely won’t be going back to Caruh.

Had the most amazingly relaxing self renewal facial with Maia this week — I would highly recommend her services, she tailors the facial exactly to your needs & is so calming. I will definitely be back — Thanks :-).

This was my first time at Caruh, and it was a wonderfully relaxing experience from the time I walked through the door. I was referred by a coworker to see Maia Pursell for a skin treatment, so I went ahead and scheduled the 90 min spa renewal facial. Not only was Maia knowledgeable as to the product line being used, but she had excellent recommendations for masks, etc. applied during the treatment to address my individual needs. She was thorough, and in addition to the facial, worked in some massage which only enhanced the experience. All in all, I would highly recommend the salon, and specifically Maia for skin care needs.

Had a groupon deal for a cut and color and was a lil weary since I haven’t had the greatest experiences before. I haven’t been able to find a stylist that I can really stick with, and now I feel like I have. Alexa was great. She took a tonnn of time with her consultation and I realized I really had no idea as to what I wanted done. I had originally just gone in for an all over color as per usual, but Alexa realized I secretly wanted more, and we ended up doing some highlights as well. I was a little worried during the process, because my foils looked a little sloppy, but alas, they turned out great. She was cautious, as she could tell I was a little hesitant, and did some very subtle highlights.

This place is pretty amazing! After moving to Seattle from Chicago, I’m so happy to have found Nathalie! She seems to always understand what I want even when I’m not being very articulate about it. I always leave happy and I’ve learned a lot about styling my hair from my visits. Parking can be tricky as the underground lot is shared by several businesses.
