I’m writing this review so potential tenants will know what they’re getting into: I signed my lease in 2014 after seeing the pretty finishings and«nice» park behind the building — what a façade. They advertised(and continue to) the unit as a place with«tree top views» — another crock. Yes, there’s trees and guess what else? Heroine junkies who hang out at the bench in the park, but that’s only an unsightly issue if you rent a unit with a back balcony. Watching them nod off wasn’t so bad, but chilling on the balcony while they took pisses out in the open was pretty gross. The inside: Look, if there’s one thing to take away from this review it’s that you WILL hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are up to. Everything from them chatting, playing guitar, watching tv to listening to music because there is little to no insulation and single pane windows. It was the most unbearable situation ever and the other tenants did not give one flying f – k about how loud they were. For the entire year of my lease I was completely sleep deprived. I know this wasn’t an issue just for me or me being overly sensitive because I had the pleasure of listening to two different neighbors fight because one could hear the other one stomping around, playing their guitar. It ended with a nice, «Yeah, go f – k yourself.» To top it off, I rented a one bedroom unit where everyone was able to walk past my bedroom window. I knew this going in, but didn’t think it’d be a big deal. ITWAS! I could hear people literally WHISPER outside my window. Why were they whispering? Because I knocked on three different neighboring units asking if they could keep it down at night since I could hear EVERYTHING that went on in the ENTIRE courtyard area. Don’t get me started on when my neighbor’s dealer would bang on my door at night because he had the wrong apartment number… I hope this enlightens anyone looking into these apartments. If you’re a young college student, maybe this shit won’t phase you, but if you’re looking for a place to feel comfortable at, where you won’t dread coming home to, then look else where.

We moved into this newly renovated apartment complex in May 2013 and the only thing it has going for it is the pretty finishes. The neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired(somebody was shot and killed in the parking lot next door the day we moved in, the trash on the street includes a lot of drug paraphernalia including used needles) and when the police are called they don’t respond(don’t park within 5 feet of a driveway though or you will get a parking ticket). The property is gated, but that hasn’t stopped multiple packages from disappearing from in front of our door. The unit itself is not much better than the neighborhood. Today I called to report our second leaking window, and was told that maintenance isn’t available on the weekends so we have to wait until Monday or Tuesday for somebody to have a look at it. The appliances are pretty but don’t work very well. Based on our power bills, the ease with which I hear the neighbors and the drafts from the windows I can say that the place isn’t well insulated either. Pacific Living Properties purchased this property, renovated it and sold it. As there is a housing shortage in this city they won’t have any problems keeping occupancy high, but be warned about what you are getting yourself into! UPDATE: We moved out when our lease was up. Had I it to do over again, I would have broken the lease and moved out early. We had 3 on-site property managers during our time there, and they got progressively worse. If you live here, make sure you take lots and lots of pictures when you move out, they will nickle and dime you. Familiarize yourself with the landlord-tenant laws. I ended up suing them and the victory felt great :)
