This review is only for the happy hour menu: we came in for oysters and martinis. $ 1.50 oysters and $ 8 martinis are nice combo. The«fries with eyes» were really good. I looked the rest of the menu over — the burger was like $ 18 or something similarly absurd. The restaurant itself is very beautifully put together. They have an amazing vintage fridge for their wines, and the open kitchen/oyster bar area is all tile and a marble bar. Maybe that’s why the burger is so expensive?

Servers name was remy, customer service was not there… We had lunch there, honestly for the price point, it s not worth it, like the sandwich was good & small, but with a side of a largggggggeeee portion of frys… I almost feel like I paid for a huge plate of frys. Portion control guys… Portion control…

After church we wanted something that wasn’t too far out. My niece likes Endoline Joe’s in West Seattle. So I thought she would like Coastal Kitchen. I had the French toast. The fruit syrup is a little too sour for my liking. I think next year time I’ll ask for it on the side. It is as also a bit too noisy for my liking. I had been here for dinner a couple years ago and don’t remember the noise lev l being so high. Still, I would probably come back.

I come here to eat with the SO a few times a month. I almost always get the same thing, but I love that they have different«locations» they visit for their specials! It lets me visit those places(or at least my tummy gets to visit) since I’ll probably still be drowning in student loans a million years from now and will never be able to actually get to these places. All I can say for this place is that the spicy hashbrowns are OHMYGOODNESSDROOLWORTHY! Because… sometimes I dream about them. It’s no secret that I love hashbrowns, and usually the ones here are AMAZING. …but every now and then it’ll be burnt and I just eat around the burnt parts cuz I’m a fatty and will never give up my hashbrowns! …and then I’ll steal off my SO’s plate. Teeheeee! Also, sometimes service is a little slow(and I sometimes wonder if they forgot about us) so no 5 stars. There’s been a few times my food has come out rather cold, but for the most part, this place is AWESOME.

Rude staff and overpriced. First visit: The first time my father and I went here, the server didn’t like where we chose to sit so she chose to ignore us for 30 minutes and refused to serve us, without saying anything to us. Even after we moved closer to her. Eventually a second server came on and served us. The food was really greasy and overpriced. Second visit: the server was wearing dirty clothes and took a very long time to come to our table. When he finally brought our oysters, I asked him for cocktail sauce and horseradish. He looked at me like I was crazy and got pissed off. 10 minutes later he came with the sauces, once the raw oysters had a chance to reach room temperature. He was a jackass older guy with a black beard. Third visit: the waiter was a space case and got the order wrong. The food ended up being extremely overpriced for the quality and my wife got extremely ill and was throwing up for two days. It was violent heaving, even after she had nothing to throw up anymore. We almost went to the emergency room after paying 120 $ for the two of us to eat. This place is a big let down. I only went here after the first visit because of my passion for oysters. They are supplied by Taylor shellfish farms, I suggest cutting out the middle man and just going there instead. Side note: having 2 separate menus(one Puerto Rican and one continental) is really stupid. If they simplified and cleaned up their act, it could be different. But for now, stay away.

You can’t beat the 3 – 111 $ oyster Tuesday happy hour! Shucked to order and the servers I’ve gotten have always been above and beyond friendly. A very welcoming experience. Beyond the oysters, the food is a bit pricey, but I’m usually just about the happy hours and they haven’t been overwhelmingly busy as I would have expected

I wwent here over the NYE holiday and had to go back again and again. The Eggs Benedict was incredible. The bloody Marys well ablanced and the staff was charming. I will make this my staple when I am in Seattle.

I feel sad giving these guys a bad rating. Been going here for nearly 10 years(hard to believe). The food and drink are still good but the quality of personnel has gone way down. Non-charming bartenders with low appeal and few social skills. A manager that laughs so loud and so frequently on the dining room floor that one would, if there were not a logical barrier to doing so, like to complain to the manager about the noise. I just don’t really like being in here anymore:(

Yikes! It’s been almost two years since my little sister took me to her favorite brunch spot. I found the receipt, and we had 3 meals which came out to $ 34.44 after tax. Not so much money for Seattle, eh? I’m not a breakfast guy, but whatever I ordered I liked.

I continue to be a long-time fan of Coastal Kitchen. This beautiful open space features Northwest seafood classics along with a global rotating menu. Sicily is currently featured and let me just say it now — the paella is nothing short of amazing! I went here this past weekend and enjoyed their citrus-y spin on a gin and tonic, along with many bites of my dining partner’s paella. I had the Ciopinno — always a wonderful fallback at Coastal. Perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious mussels were the highlight this time around. I would have loved to try dessert, but my dining partner wasn’t as interested. I will have to sneak back here for a nightcap and a bread pudding, which sounds killer! Worth mentioning, too, is Coastal Kitchen’s wonderful brunch. Perhaps they’re even better known for it — brunch at Coastal Kitchen has been a wonderful Seattle institution for quite some time now. I remember coming up here in college with my dad — back when I could count on my parents to foot the bill! Delicious, but dinner is not to be missed, either! I’m definitely a fan of Coastal Kitchen. Yummm!

I like this place — they seem to reinvent themselves regularly. I love that they have a new indoor/outdoor element now. The food is filling and not so «Seattle concept plate» style which is just not really my thing. I hate spending a ton of money for something and leaving hungry. That won’t happen here for two reasons: the portions are on point and the food crafting will satisfy your tastebuds. Great spot if you can walk to it or take a car. Typical limited street parking situation.

Went here for breakfast on a saturday morning. It was quite crowded and busy, but luckily I didnt have to wait, because it is quite roomy here. I ordered the salmon benedict while my friend ordered the scramble. If youre looking for the more quantitative portion, go for the scramble! My favorite part of the meal was actually the hash brown. It was crispy, salty, and just so perfect that I was missing it more than my benedict when I finished my meal. The wait I felt was a bit long, from the start of getting our orders down till we received the bill. I do want to go back however to try out the oysters and dinner menu!

Good crackers and ambiance but chef has a serious garlic habit. First, everyone is forced-overtly cheery. The hostess(most authentic) asked us if we were doing anything fun tonight as we walked to the table. Um, eating here? Then, since«Cuban» month ends tomorrow, we were informed that only two Cuban appetizers remain from the Cuban selection. I ordered risotto which was so garlicky and … not creamy that I couldn’t eat it. I ordered the clam chowder(the waitress volunteered to take it off our bill which was good of her and the restaurant) which was fine, not bad, but filled with garlic!!! Wtf!!! Anyway, the crackers were good. The servers tried hard(if a bit too hard) but this place is way overpriced if you’re hoping for value from the food. The chef is using garlic as a crutch. How about reeling it in a bit and relying on cooking techniques to provide variety and flavor?

Located in the trendy Capital Hill Costal Kitchen serves locally source food and a creative menu. This food is so good that we ate here two nights in a row. The Seabass Cubanequesca was delicious; I could not bear leaving Seattle without having it again. The service was excellent. We sat inside one night and out the next and enjoyed fresh local oysters, great wine and beer and a delicious meal. If I go back to Seattle, I will eat here again.

«Travel around the world one dish at a time.» Coastal Kitchen has been one of my longtime world cuisine spots for brunch or dinner. Each month features a different dish destination and exhibits the unique flavors of each selected country. I had the opportunity to sample the cuisine of the Caribbean Sea — Cuba. Boliche Hash — A skillet dish of Uli’s chorizo, ground beef, roasted yucca, peppers, onions, fresh tomato & habanero mojo topped with egg. This dish is simply pure delight. The mixture of peppers and chorizo awakens the palate. The habanero mojo had the perfect amount of heat the egg is an excellent addition to the hash. In addition to the world cuisine tour, Coastal kitchen does feature some regular items for anyone looking for favorites. I tried the goat cheese scramble with toast and potatoes. The scramble was very filling and the cheese was the right amount. The vegetables were fresh and the portion size is a good value for the price. Brunch would not be the same without mimosas and Coastal Kitchen has a full bar to fit anyone’s flavor. Both types of mimosas(orange and Grapefruit) are perfect drinks for anytime of the day. The service can sometimes be a hit and miss depending on the crowd size. I recommend advance reservations to avoid wait times.

We were here on a Sunday for dinner. They do these touring menus, usually special dishes focusing around a country that is next to a body of water and this month(may be longer) is the Caribbean. I got the Cuban Pete’s Shipwreck — manila clams, finfish, mussels, and rice — all my favorites rolled into one dish. It reminded me of paella; lots of seafood! Portion was huge, definitely could have been an order for two. The bf got the Drunk Salish shells & sausage — this is pretty similar to my dish, except it didn’t come with rice, and has a white wine broth. We also got the ceviche to share — too limey though! We were seated upstairs in the outdoor patio — the decors were exceptional!

I’ve been here before a few years back, and service wasn’t so great. We were seated in the bar area, & I felt like they forgot about us. That being said, we came in on a Saturday evening and made it for happy hour. They had $ 1.25 oysters and were told the variety that was on special that day was a small to medium size. We ordered two dozen to start with and a couple drinks for 3 people. First, it took a good v minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge us when the place wasn’t busy. After we placed our order, which shouldn’t be too complicated, it took at least close to 10 minutes for us to get our wine and almost another 5 to 10 minutes after that to get the oysters. The flavor of the oyster was very nice, just as she had described. The size though… they were tiny! There were at least three of them in there, I swear I’ve had boogers bigger than them! I would say they were more on the barely legal to extra small size, nothing close to medium! The vinaigrette it was served with was nice though, little tart but not much flavor. We finished everything we ordered and SAT around staring at the paintings on the wall for a good 10 minutes again before we were checked on. We immediately got our checks as soon as she came back. After that it took another 3 – 4 minutes to run our card. We weren’t happy with the service and our food was not worth it. We had been craving oysters and this place did not fulfill our needs. No wonder I waited a couple years before I came back, hoping they had changed.

Graduation weekend meant I couldn’t go to my go-to Seattle brunch place. Instead, got referred to Coastal Kitchen — where they attempt to have a coastal sourced ingredient included in their menu? I may have gotten that wrong. Parking kind of sucks, but do-able. Once in get in, if you don’t mind the two bar areas, those are open seating. Otherwise, it can get pretty busy; the wait was definitely longer than usual when I was here due to the crowds. Had the Sonora Scramble and bits of their special — Banana Bread Fresh Toast with coconut whip. Both were DELICIOUS. Washed them down with a mimosa — definitely felt great, even after one! Saw the oyster specials, and other great offerings. Coast Kitchen definitely didn’t disappoint, and leaves you full!

Don’t judge me happy hours for days! I love this little/not so little spot. I primarily come here for above mentioned Don’t just me happy hours. Or the evening happy hours where they shuck tasty morsels in shells right in front of my eyes. Hmmmmm! Insert eyes with glowing hearts! What do you do when you want a happy hour at crack of dawn-sih? Right after some crazy workout? This is the only place I’ve shown up with in my yoga pants/workout gear to eat ever. One, because of the happy hour! Two: well it is such a cute and cozy neighborhood bar, you feel comfortable enough to show up here! Breakfast — they have variety of things. I’ve tried waffles, omelets and so on and they were a ok for me. But the best part– their bloody Mary!!! And 8 – 10 am happy hour mimosas! I mean why wouldn’t you want to start your day with a little kick? Or some bubbles! I’m not a big fan of bloody Mary usually but they make them so well here that I’ve had it a few times. And the evening happy hours! That’s just might be my favorite thing. Oysters and a little pinot grigio never hurt anybody. Their pintxos are pretty tasty too. I like the mussles! They get really busy at time so prepare to relax and wait. Open kitchen is quite pretty though. Its fun to watch the action! Overall, this is my anytime happy hour place. Their happy hour menu is pretty small but have 2– 3 things that I love. That’s enough to keep me coming back. One of these days, I’ll get around to trying to dinner entrees and other tasty looking pasta dishes. Till then, it’s all about non judging happy hours and shells for this obsessive foodie!

The Coastal Kitchen was a bit out of our way from downtown Seattle, but it was worth the hike. The prices were above normal for breakfast, but there were many unique options that you can’t find elsewhere, so it was fun to splurge. Upon entering, you immediately notice how clean and modern the place is. We were greeted and seated right away by a member of the waitstaff(there are lots of little rooms beyond the first main dining room). The service was excellent(thank you for continuing to refill my coffee!). I ordered the Croque Madame. It’s such a simple breakfast dish, that you wonder why more places don’t offer it. It was cooked to perfection, the poached eggs providing a delicious creamy coating. p. s. Don’t be afraid of the«spicy hash browns.» It doesn’t mean they’re spicy hot, just seasoned with spices.
