Cranium’s Coffee & Collectables

I think they’re closed now, but I remember liking their sandwiches and odd collectibles.

I feel as though someone should mention that Cranium’s is closed and has been for months. I am full of woe! I need a place to get coffee in Lake City that’s not Starbucks.

I la la love craniums ! its that the food is really that great even though the do a good job with the coffee. its just that they always play awesome music and the record shopping here is A++ it’s a great place to find some hidden gems or re-​discover some old toys you may have forgotten about.

Even though I haven’t had a turntable in years, I want to get one again just because of the trip down memory lane and all the 45’s this place has. Cool, retro and fun collectables, even my fave, Star Trek! The coffee is really good, as are the sandwiches. This place is on the edge of the one decent strip of Lake City Way and worth a stop.

Great coffee in a cool environment. It definitely stands out on Lake City Way as it’s different form most shops in the area. It would seem more in place in Fremont or Capitol Hill… it’s refreshing to find someone doing something different in a neighborhood that ‘s not so predictable and congested.

Great coffee selection, good food and good people. This is a fun place to work on the wifi or browse about the interesting collection of collectables. There’s a new sculpture in-​front of the store now and I like it! I see Peter has some photos for you of it already. I’ll add photos if I take anymore interesting shots. I recommend this place, I really like their coffee.

This is my daily hangout, my daily coffee place for the last two years, so perhaps I am biased, but I also know this place inside and out. It is a fun, independent espresso joint, where you can also get breakfast sandwiches, scones, muffins, etc, as well as very good sandwiches and soups in the afternoon. The ambiance is funky/​junky. Definitely not an ironic/​black-​wearing kind of place you’d find on Capitol Hill. But, good music, good people working there, and good food and coffee. There are 3 free Internet stations (15 minutes free if you purchase something), and free wi-​fi. A great place to read a book or do some work. Lots of families and little kids/​babies in there on the weekends. Tell Nancee (the owner) that Peter sent you!
