Creative Music Adventures

This is my son’s second year attending a CMA camp (at our house we call it «Rock Band camp») and I have been thrilled with the experience and the results. Campers rotate through different instruments for the same song (piano, keyboard, guitar, even bass), and they seem to tailor the content (entirely different this year) to the group. Last year they did classic rock songs, and this year, contemporary (Ariana Grande!). The instructors seem to be able to accommodate different ages and levels of ability. And they take a break to play in the park (and on the last day, Molly Moon’s ice cream)!
My son always comes home energized about music and wanting to explore more. I drive out of my way to get my kid to this camp, and if your kid is a music lover, this might be a great place for them! (They also have weekly lessons.)

My daughter has taken group piano with Michael at Creative Music Adventures since she was 6 years old and she is now 9. Michael composes most of the songs that the kids play and they are «ensemble pieces». The kids in the group learn four different parts of the same song and learn to play together. When the three kids in the group play together, they sound amazing! Michael uses lots of kinesthetic learning when kids are new to piano and embeds theory and ear training in the way that he teaches. Creative Musical Adventures (CMA) offers lessons in many different instruments and the recitals are great because kids at all levels are playing many different instruments and styles of music: jazz, classical, rock, etc. My daughter loves attending piano class and dreams of being a musician when she grows up. If you want your child to love playing music, CMA is the place for you!
