This place is so delicious. I had the PB and Fries today, it was amazing. The shop is nestled on 34th and it has a warmth to it. The staff was friendly and helpful!

I started frequenting the 34th st. Cupcake Royale(also known as Verite) when I began working in the neighborhood. The coffee selection is amazing, the pastries fantastic, and the staff are friendly and personable. Since they began carrying the Stumptown Nitro Coldbrew(on tap!) they have also managed to make me HAPPILY shell out $ 6 for a coffee. on a daily basis. Not everything there is priced so steep. The coldbrew on tap is just so, so worth it.

5-stars for ice cream! Holy mother that ice cream is good. Sweet cream ice cream with chunks of red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting, and can we get an «Amen» that they served rainbow cupcakes affectionately titled«The Gay» when the equal marriage bill passed?

This place is dangerous, to be honest. You walk in and you might walk out 10 pounds heavier! This place is like heaven, the smells, the sights, the sounds, oh myyy! They have a large variety of cupcakes and frosting a and cakes and more! The cupcakes are delicious, we ordered chocolate, red velvet and vanilla and they were all so moist and delicious!!! I don’t recommend coming here too often haha unless you hit the gym afterwards! But it is worth the calories :)

The slowest coffee in seattle – and the coffee isn’t very good. If you have a lot of time on your hands, and don’t mind watching the employees talk with each other, take care of their cleaning chores, talk with customers about their mutual personal plans and business arrangements, then you won’t mind standing in a long line for a mediocre cup of coffee. This is a good space in a good location and the pastries are fine. But the service is uniquely terrible. I’m patient and I’ve gotten coffee all over the world, but in my own neighborhood coffee place I end up walking out of 50% of the time because I don’t have 15 minutes to get black coffee on my way to work. Unfortunately, the quality of their coffee is – seriously – about the quality of what you’d get at Dunkin Donuts or Bob Horton’s. They need to pay attention to customers and get a better quality bean.

I’ve been fan of their cupcakes for years. They also have great coffee. I don’t typically write reviews, but felt compelled to do one. I had an issue with one of their cakes the other day and let them know. Jessica was quick to respond to my situation. The customer service was impressive and went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this establishment.

Stupid good cupcakes, coffee isn’t bad either. Friendly customer service and a fun atmosphere.

Every time I go here, I want it to be really great and it’s just not. Today, there were boxes of produce on the floor on the hallway to the bathroom, staff seemed so uninterested, and tables and chairs had to be wiped off no matter where we wanted to sit. Absolutely no dogs allowed and a fairly limited cupcake inventory at any given time. They just don’t seem very INTO having a business. Just sort of «there.» Too bad. If they were more excited to have my business, I would choose them over Molly Moon’s ice cream and the Hi Spot across the street.

This Cupcake Royale one in a nice little chain of coffee/pastry/cupcake/ice cream shops. I came here today and had a nice seasonal apple cupcake, and paid $ 3.75. It was a pleasant cupcake, and I really liked the little single-cupcake travel plasticware, but besides that I don’t know what else to write about my cupcake… There was apple flavoring, the cake-part was nice and soft, and the frosting was a good level of sweet.

Went here to enjoy a cappuccino and was surprised to find out they made gluten free cupcakes. They came in chocolate with three different choices for frosting including one with bacon. I chose the vanilla icing and it was a delicious butter-cream style yum! The cake part was moist and had a good flavor. They also have vegan cupcakes, normal cupcakes, a few pastries and cake balls. The service was friendly and fast but by the end of my stay kids were pouring in from the local schools that had just gotten out and they made the place noisy.

I am a big fan of this café/cupcake joint. The selection and quality are both stellar. There is nice seating indoors and outdoors, allowing you to enjoy a quaint little section of Madrona. Perhaps most importantly, the staff and baristas are friendly and down-to-earth. I met them on my first day in Seattle, and they’ve recognized me the two subsequent times I’ve walked in!

This place kicked off my love for cupcakes, the frosting was not too sweet and the cake stuck together as it should and was still soft and moist. Always fring a dozen back to Cali.

I had my first Cupcake Royale, cupcake a little over a year ago. While working in Seattle and needing some stress relief from the horrendous traffic. I began to venture away from the city. I plugged cupcake into my GPS… at which time, I was led to Heaven. Huckleberry, Oh My! This cupcake was the best cupcake I have EVER had in my life. Living in Florida stinks… no Cupcake Royale and no huckleberries to attempt to make my own.

There are so many good things about this location: 1. the staff are weird but very nice 2. the place always has street parking 3. the food/drinks are amazing to be a little more detailed about item 3, you will be happy with the coffee and cupcakes but if you like ICECREAM you have to try the salted caramel cupcake ice cream. It has large pieces of actual cupcake inside. It makes me so happy when I eat it and then I have to go to the gym unhappy but that’s too personal so never mind. TRYTHEICECREAM.

My boyfriend convinced me to stop in here again, despite my feelings towards the place, and again, we had the SAMEEXPERIENCE: Quiet, shy, people behind the counter with social anxiety who can’t seem to work through a line of 2 or more people. Ugh. We had been waiting in line for about 5 minutes already when the woman in front of us with 4 children couldn’t make a decision on the cupcakes they wanted. Another 5 minutes passed and the girl behind the counter just stared at them with no care in the world, or the for the line that was approaching the door. It’s not that hard to be friendly and assertive, and I’m all for accommodating families, but really how difficult is it to say, «Excuse me, Ma’am, would you mind stepping to the side to decide on your cupcakes while I assist the folks behind you; Just let me know when you’re ready and I’ll get you set up»? It’s NOT that hard! And everyone understands the need to move through a line, but I can’t see how this place can afford the loss of business — it’s already pretty slow going. We had to leave, with no cupcakes, and no intent of going back. I can’t help but wonder, does this place want my business?

Being in the neighborhood, this is often my go-to for some studying or reading. The cupcakes are tasty and the drinks are pretty straightforward. There’s a good bit of seating both inside and outside so I’ve never had a problem there. Unfortunately though, the staff is generally not particularly friendly. I go in often enough that they should recognize me but no luck. They also don’t act particularly nice even when I’m trying to engage them in brief conversation. Additionally, the wifi is completely unreliable. Don’t go in there expecting to use it since there’s a good chance that it will be down or spotty at best.

The cupcakes are incredible– I had a few different kinds: Tiramisu, Red Velvet, and just the classic. It was delicious. My little brother loves these cupcakes so naturally for his birthday weekend, we stuffed ourselves full of cupcakes. The service is great and it’s in a cute little neighborhood.

INTRO: There are like a million cupcake places in Seattle, but I think we all know there are two main contenders: CR and TC. I’m going to review both and start them both with this intro, because it’s a compare/contrast thing as far as I am concerned. Ask yourself this: Are you in it for the cake or the frosting? I am of the opinion that the cake is just a way to get the delicious, delicious frosting to my piehole. Or, I guess, cupcakehole. Cupcake Royale’s cake is not the best. It’s like, maybe 3 out of 5. It can be a little dry, a little flavorless. It’s okay. But their frosting! It is the frosting of which dreams are made. Light, fluffy, sugary, sweet, like a frosting cloud, made of heaven and delivered to my tongue. 5 out of 5 — no, 6 out of 5. I will keep going to CR for their frosting, even if the cake gets so bad that I just have to lick the frosting off and dispose of the bottom. I hope it doesn’t come to that.

The Madrona location has all the goods but is a little sleepier and more laid back than the Ballard location. I think I prefer this location although Ballard is my normal stop. With a trendier flair, the Madrona shop sets itself apart from other cupcake places. The employees were nice, the coffee was great(still Stumptown), and the cupcakes were so tasty! I like that the shop is tucked away in a quiet part of town.

I always get great service here, and I think the cupcakes are delish. Coffee is also consistantly good and better yet, they have the best swag. A shirt that says ‘These Cupcakes are Taken’ I’m all over that.
