I have taken other classes around Seattle, but Dance for Joy has been my favorite. Instead of throwing a lot of moves and seeing what sticks, Lilli Ann and Claire are both fantastic at working with the subtleties and details. Not only does it make that particular dance better, but it makes the transition easier to trying other forms of dance. I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

Lilli Ann, her daughter Claire and other talented members of DFJ’s teaching team provide expert, fun and easy to pick up skills and «moves» for your dancing pleasure in small, friendly classes and organized social dance events. She is the coordinator for Seattle Parks celebrated free summer downtown outdoor ‘Dance ’til Dusk’
series which also offers free dance instruction by her and other guest teachers at each event. Whether you’re a new or seasoned social dancer, DFJ has something special to offer you!

Lillie Ann is an excellent teacher and so much fun ! She builds skills, step by step, until suddenly you can feel dancing in your bones. She teaches the gracefulness as well as the techniques of dance. She DJ’s at a variety of venues and her music choices are varied and enjoyably eclectic. I have taken classes from her for one year in waltz and swing, and each class has been full of new and innovative moves. I highly reccomend her.
