Aging sucks. As if it’s not enough to increasingly rely on medical practitioners to diagnose what is causing the mysterious aches, pains, cramps, and other discomforts, paying someone to poke and prod places not meant for that kind of action seems almost insulting. But I guess that’s just my take on the situation. I was referred to Dr. Frankwick a few years ago after developing, according to another diagnostician, «numerous» fibroids, including one the size of a small puppy. Nice. Dr. Frankwick was communicative and professional throughout the appointment, and described my potential next steps. After my anger over the too-few options women with fibroids have in this day and age of medical advancements and technology abated, I chose embolization surgery. She set me up with Via Radiology down the road, and her office personnel quickly processed the referral. The procedure was the right choice for me, but I warn anyone considering embolization: expect pain. A lot of pain. I’ve since returned to Dr. Frankwick for fibroid reappearance and I am still impressed with her patience and expertise. Although the symptoms I experienced were upsetting, she was very reassuring, and truly put my mind – and perhaps runaway imagination – at ease.

Dr. Dawn Frankwick is an obstetrician, gynecologist and surgeon at NW Hospital. I was referred to her for hysterectomy surgery and was very pleased with the professional, thorough and competent care I received from her. She visited me in the hospital the day after the operation and patiently answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend her for her competence(she also makes beautiful quilts, which hang in the examining rooms,)but if you need a warm-and-fuzzy bedside manner, she is not that kind of doctor. Also, it takes 2 months to get a regular appointment with her.
