Days Inn Seattle South Tukwila

Stayed last night, staff friendly. Free breakfast. Room was nice and priced great. A little noisy but did not impede sleep. Would stay again.

I wouldn’t stay here again if we can avoid it. It’s right next to a freeway or some busy road and the noise was noticeable. Fortunately, I can sleep through most anything, but it kept my husband awake. We discovered the toilet was clogged when we first used it (did they flush it at all even to pretend to clean?) and in general, for such a big name hotel, we expected a lot nicer room. We got a truck driver discount, otherwise the room would’ve been overpriced in my opinion.

We got two rooms for our two night stay.
— Heating was noisy, like really noisy
— Thermostat had no temperature reading, just an outdated piece of equipment.
— One of the light bulb was out, but not replaced.
— Got a soiled towel in the bathroom
— The free breakfast is not replenished, so within breakfast hours you may not find all the items originally served.

I have NEVER stayed in a place this gross, and I have travelled a lot! Rarely do I post something like this, but if it will save one person the experience we went through, I want to! This place was disgusting and has no idea what customer service is! I booked this for 2 nights as a package deal through Expedia, and arrived late and tired and just wanted to sleep. When we opened the door to the room (#250) the smell of mildew was overwhelming! Exhausted, I figured that it was coming from the bathroom, so I I sprayed some body spray hoping it would cover the odor, shut the bathroom door and went to lay down.
The bed was like concrete. I am disabled due to an accident and have rods and screws in my back and my husband called the front desk and asked for an EXTRA pillow to try and make it less painful for me. The front desk said they would have someone bring one up, and an hour later, still no pillow. He called again and it just rang and rang, he went down and nobody was at the desk. We took some towels (yes, they smelled like mildew too!) and tried to use them to protect my back and tried to get some sleep.
In the morning, he went down and asked again for an extra pillow and was told housekeeping would bring one up-​never did. He also reported the smell, and asked if we could possibly switch rooms. They told him there were no other rooms available and our room was non-​refundable. We left for the day, came back to the same smell, and NO pillow! He called again, and the manager told him that they don’t give out extra pillows!
There was a nasty cracked mattress rollaway bed outside our room the whole time we were there, getting drenched with rain, a dead cockroach under it, a 2 inch rusted hole in our sink, the «frig» had a big dent in it and the outlet it was plugged into didn’t work (nor did the hairdryer) and there was mildew visible all around the tub and on the air conditioner, and the door had these growths the door looked like mushrooms growing under the paint and bubbling it up, and the locks had been pulled off and not replaced.
I have called the manager 4 times, without one return call! I have pictures if anybody would like to see them, contact me– I just can’t upload them from my camera at the moment. If I could give 0 stars, this place deserves it!

Prepaid for 2 nights. If I would have had the extra money I would have eaten the 2 days. The minute I walked into the room the smell of a soured shower curtain hit me like a ton of bricks. The maid service were really quick at changing it out. I just wish they would have done the same thing with the bedding. The next day I had a complete set of clean bedding.
The location is very questionable. Upon returning after a nice dinner we encountered some «ladies of the evening» strolling around the motel. The road noise was pretty bad too.
Will I ever stay there again? No way… never again.

This is the most disgusting place! I had two flight delays and was extremely tired. I checked in at the desk and the person was rather shady looking. I went to my room, and this is got to be where motel furniture is sent to die! I unpacked and put on my PJ’s. Then I went to go to the bathroom before going to bed AND could not believe that there was poop and (butt wiped) toilet paper in the toilet!!! And in the shower, there was a bar of used soap and used (motel) shampoo! The bed grossed me out and the carpet was really disgusting too. I went to the office in the morning and told the desk person and he said I should have called. I told him I had already unpacked all my things and was in my PJ’s. ALL he said was he would let the manager know. Have not heard from anyone… but going to call and ask for a refund. Que asko… meaning, how gross (in Spanish). BEYOND DISGUSTING!!! It deserves a minus 5…

Possibly the sketchiest motel I’ve ever stayed in. Ridiculously overpriced. To be avoided if at all possible

If I could give it zero stars I would! My family had a completely traumatic experience with the front desk. First of all the room was booked on Expedia but we called ahead to make sure they had an ADA room for my MIL in a wheelchair, they said they would do that. Got there and they only had a second floor room accessible by stairs, well that won’t work will it. So the desk clerk then told my MIL that they would not give her the room since she was in a wheelchair and they felt she could not do the stairs. OK so now you are refusing service based on a disability Days Inn, way to go! That wasent the worst of it though… The maintence/​front desk guy then drove to the hotel proceeded to yell at us saying that we were harassing the desk clerk, he swore at us too! He refused to refund the room even though they refused to let us stay there based on a disability. I could go on and on. Bottom line is this place has the WORST customer service ever, avoid at all costs! Only bright side is after Expedia spoke the the jerk of a maintence/​front desk guy (of course he yelled at them too) they refunded us all of the money.

Ok place to crash. Came here because I waited last minute to reserve lodging for a friend’s wedding in Newscastle and Bellevue and everything was booked around there. Its across the street from a truck garage so sometimes I felt hesitant to walk down under the overpass. This place however could work out if you have a rental car. Service was ok and basic.
To survive here:
1) Get a rental car and go enjoy Seattle

Upon arriving at this hotel we noticed a lot of furniture outside, and were informed that they were in the process of renovating some of the hotel rooms by the staff. It seems however, that they are actually in the process of treating the rooms for bed bugs & lice. We booked our stay through
and have let them know. They contacted the Days Inn staff to have them issue a refund to us, but were told that 48 hours is apparently too long to have realized that you contracted head lice and that those mosquito bites weren’t just mosquito bites! The customer service agent at
was very kind and apologetic for their poor customer service, but all she was able to do was to offer a discount code for our future bookings through them.
We stayed here at the end of our vacation because it was close to the airport. We decided not to use the pool because there was a maintenance man there looking very puzzled as he tried to get the chemicals right. The beds were comfortable and at first glance the room seemed to be clean enough. The continental breakfast was less than we had expected, but all in all things seemed fine. After breakfast, my son pointed out some bug bites on his back, legs & stomach that looked somewhat like mosquito bites. I brushed it off until we got home and realized that we had brought home some extra unwanted guests.
Since coming home I have had to treat all 3 of my children, my self and my husband for head lice which I know were not in our hair before this hotel stay. The morning before our stay I had done the children’s hair like normal and there had been nothing there. This morning my oldest daughter mentioned that her head was itching and guess what. a new break out of head lice had started. Thankfully it was caught early so it hadn’t gotten really bad yet. Still, I have been doing massive amounts of laundry and it has been a huge inconvenience. My oldest also wound up showing me that she had some similar sores to her brother which I’m pretty sure are actually from a bed bug infestation in the hotel. I am livid, this hotel should be shut down until an exterminator can get in there and get this infestation under control.
I have bagged all of our suitcases and placed them in the garage since that’s what the suggestions I found online said to do. My children had already been home for a night so I had to treat all the mattresses, wash all the bedding as well as treat the other furniture in the home where they had been. I should be getting a full refund and compensation for the time and expense that this has cost our family, but instead the hotel staff has simply denied that there is an issue and refused to do anything about this problem. Our family will never stay at this hotel or any other Days Inn for that matter. Complete negligence, next call will be to the Washington State health inspectors office!

Bad customer service. Booked the room 3wks before, and when I was trying to check in at 9pm, they said that the room was not available. NOBODY called, emailed nor sent me a text message to inform me that the whole day!!! They offered to find me another hotel but I will have to pay $ 30 difference.
I got mad because if I were going to pay a diff, I would’ve booked a way nicer room in the 1^st place! After I got mad, the front desk, Pedro, said, he will not help me, and I’m on my own. Mind you, I have a pregnant woman with me and a 2 yr old kid at 9pm, with NO room! I asked him to call the manager, and of course, the manager was not available!
I think it is unacceptable! I will never stay at a Days Inn anywhere ever!

Not located in the best area, right off the freeway so accessibility is easy but the rooms are noisy from the traffic. Rooms were very clean and looked like the bedspreads were newer. Beds were comfortable and we were able to get a roll away cot. Tv reception was better than the fancy hotel that we stayed at in downtown Tacoma! Free continental breakfast was very filling and dining/​seating area is larger than I expected and again very clean.
I would recommend to anyone like myself that is looking for somewhere cheap to crash that doesn’t spend a lot of time in their room, but out living and seeing the sights. I was worried that there would be crime, but felt very safe!!!

Decent room for the price.
Linens are clean but not new or fancy. There are several areas of damage (see photos) that have been inexpertly fixed or not fixed at all.
It’s right on Hwy 99, which is very convenient to the airport, but means quiet is hard to come by.
Would I stay here again? Probably. Would I try other places first? Probably.

You get what you pay for. This is not a high class resort by any means, but it will do for the price, with one completely unacceptable exception: smoking in the non-​smoking rooms.
I booked a non-​smoking room. They have put me in 2 non-​smoking rooms and both wreak of the smell found only at the bottom of an recently used ash tray. I just arrived, it is 10 PM, and now I must leave and find a room at another place as there are no other non-​smoking rooms.
I have stayed at shady hotels all over the world, but I have never seen such a poor example of separating smoking from non-​smoking rooms.
This is the first negative review I have written, and I feel strongly about the reason — in this country, you should not need to be exposed to carcinogens if you chose not to be exposed to them. For all the steps that have been taken in making the world a more smoke free place, this hotel is a step in the wrong direction. Please, if you have children, or if you care about your health, chose a different hotel.

Truly terrible. Even for the price. I’ve stayed much better places for less money. This is the only hotel I’ve ever left and gotten a refund for rather than sucking it up and dealing with the room.
Before I go any further, allow me to note: I used to work as a housekeeping supervisor at a hotel in a tourist town near where I grew up. If any of the people who worked with me had consistently left rooms like the one I walked into, they’d have been fired… and I’d have probably been let go too for having allowed them to do such a poor job.
I’ve uploaded some pictures that I think are a decent example. In them, you see that the sheet is not even tucked into the bed. All I had done was strip the blanket and comforter off the bed (because these aren’t even washed often at good hotels), and had not even touched the sheets. While this particular example is not unsanitary per se, it raises some questions. Are the housekeepers lazy? What else have they missed? Did they even change the sheets or did they just straighten the ones that were on the bed?
The rest of the room was no better. There was a big spot of dusk on one of the curtains that hadn’t even been shaken off or wiped in ages. The sink (which was not even located in the bathroom, by the way, just next to it) had a weird feel to it, like it was caked in a thin chalky layer of the previous guest’s toothpaste that had just been rubbed around rather than actually removed. The bathroom was also pretty dingy, although I honestly didn’t get a great look at it before we decided to get our money back (my co-​guest had inspected that room).
Compound that with the smell. The whole room had sort of a vague, unnameable odor. It’s sort of like a mix between stale cigarette smoke and the smell that your kitchen gets if you let the dishes pile up for too long. I can’t really come up with a more descriptive explanation of what it was, but it was nasty.
The straw that broke the camel’s back, though, was that there was no Wifi, even though the girl at the front desk insisted that there was. I don’t believe that; we were carrying with us four different Wifi-​capable devices (two laptops and two phones) and not a single one of them detected a single network from our hotel room. For most people this would be no big deal – you can go without Internet for the night or just use the 3G/​4G network with your phone – but for me, it is; when I travel it’s always non-​revenue with one of the major US airlines (my father is an employee and gets great flight benefits, which extend to me), I *NEED* reliable, reasonably quick Internet access the night before I plan to fly because I need to know if I’m likely to make my flight or if I’m going to be bumped by someone with more precedence. I need to be able to reroute myself to different airports or book myself for a different flight if it’s necessary. For me, it’s literally a matter of not being stranded in some strange city. Consequently, we always try to verify whether or not a hotel has public Wifi. Being told that a place has it and then not being able to use it is simply unacceptable.
I cannot recommend this hotel. ¹⁄₅.

There are only two reasons to stay here.
1) They’re cheap.
2) They’re close to the I5 North and South on and off ramps.
Other than that, you get what you pay for. The desk clerks are usually not there or apathetic. Maintenance in the room is bad. On our last visit the clothing hanger fell off the wall after we hung 2 coats on it. The «friendly» desk clerk said he’d put it on maintenance’s list immediately and 2 days later it still wasn’t fixed. The spa was drained and not working. There’s no elevator to the 2^nd floor so all suitcases need to be hauled up and down stairs. Wall insulation between rooms vary and if you have noisy neighbors, there’s no problem hearing them. The maid service is minimal and if they fix the beds, wipe the countertops, put in fresh towels and soaps, that’s about it. Vacuuming only happens between guests (or at least I hope so). The so called free Wifi is a joke. I was there for a week and never was able to log on and when you can, it’s slower than molasses in January. There are only get four channels on the LCD TV. The sad thing is we’ve stayed here 3 of the last 4 years while my son was attending college in Seattle for reasons 1 and 2. The only person who seems worth their salt here is an older lady who usually takes care of the breakfast room. She is cheery, does a good job of restocking the breakfast items and cleans off counters and tables during the breakfast service. The rest of the workers are very slow. My recommendation is to only stay here for reasons 1 and 2 otherwise you’ll find you will get what you pay for. As for me, we’re going to stay at another hotel for future visits to Seattle.

1.There was a socket falling out of the wall.
2. There were hairs inside the bed sheets
3. The lobby vibrates
4. Only the 1 channel on the tv (others supposedly had 30)
5. Wifi doesnt work
6. Hotel staff told us to call our own cab
7. The sink was dirty
8. The washroom is tiny, sink is in separate room
9. Do i need to give more reasons… No room service, they literally give you delivery menus from restaurants in Seattle and a list of who will and will not deliver to tukwila.
10. There is a sign that says desk is always manned, desk is not always manned, you will sit in that vibrating lobby and wait and wait and wait.
I hope the place burns down.

Not a bad place a good nights rest. Stayed here a few times and no issues. They are reasonably priced and include a continental breakfast. And I love their late check outs.
Tip: get a room on the end of their buildings and its extremely peaceful.

Cheap and filthy. Like a hooker. Well, you’ll be feeling like hooker after staying here. No pressure on the showers, carpet is filthy, air conditioner/​heater is so old and full of dust. Everything is sticky. And sometimes things leak.
I could live with all that but one thing I can’t take is a broken waffle maker. Like no waffles for a week? Its like they dont even care.

When you pay about $ 50-​ish for a room, you know what you’re going to get. Days Inn didn’t disappoint. At least, eventually, that is. The room we started with reeked. Not of smoke, or of anything putrid. It just stunk. That, and the precariously arranged plugs for the lights were jarred loose by any movement in the room, so the lights were going out frequently. Not wanting to deal with that, we asked for another room. The lady at the counter was quite accommodating, and hooked us up with another room.
The replacement room smelled fine, had no lighting issues, and was pretty much on par with what you’d expect for $ 50 dollars a night. Spartan accommodations, but clean, and mostly quiet — as long as you’re in the middle of the building and somewhat away from the freeway.
Be forewarned — many of the rooms are set up as double suites — and have a doorway that connects each pair of rooms. The doors don’t open from the other room (it only opens from inside each room), but if that’s an issue, make sure to let the desk know.
The only issue was for us, a minor one — but for others, a potential dealbreaker. As you can see from the photo I uploaded, the wireless internet comes from a rather rudimentary (for a hotel, anyway) setup. I expect to see this in people’s houses, not a hotel chain. So if your room is in the middle of the building, your ability to catch a wireless signal is greatly diminished. But as long as you’re within sight of the router, you’ll catch what’s actually a pretty decent (10mbps+ up, 1.5mbps down) signal. It would’ve been nice, but since I ran my wife’s phone and iPad through my phone, it didn’t matter much.
