I had such a fun experience at Destination Maternity. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and asked what I was in the market for, «dear.» Typically I find this kind of aggressive approach and false intimacy annoying, but the saleslady was really sincere and sweet. I explained this was my first pregnancy and that I didn’t really know what I was doing but needed jeans. She showed me all the 200 – 300 dollar pairs and I blatantly explained I wouldn’t be spending that much. She didn’t argue or try to sway me but promptly picked out a bunch of options of the cheaper brand and showed me to a changing room. She continued to bring me more options as I tried things on, and was all the while chatty and kind. I kind of loved her. I walked away really happy with three pairs of jeans which are SUPER comfy and flattering — not at all mommish-looking. They’re the LED brand, which I’d definitely recommend. Oh also, THEYOFFERYOU A FREEBOTTLEOFWATERORJUICE when you come in, and that won me over instantly, too. :)

As a first time expecting Mom, I have been extremely frustrated with the selection at Old Navy, Gap and Target. I have ordered(and returned) numerous shipments online. I have purchased clothes that I do not wear or are extremely uncomfortable. Once I entered Destination Maternity, my mind and previous fears were quickly put to ease. Cindy is AMAZING! She went above and beyond to make sure I found what I was looking for. She walked me around the store and grabbed various sizes. She stocked my fitting room and kept bringing me items in different sizes and the brands that I liked. She brought me water(juice also available), and showed me the bumps to try on if I needed them. When I was too tired to continue, she saved all my items for me while I went to get lunch and rest, and even grabbed additional items for me while I was gone(per my request). She was not overly pushy and other sales people were jumping to help in as well. Yes, some items can be very expensive($ 215AG jeans), but a good investment if you wear them every day!(I literally have been wearing the same pair of pre-pregnancy jeans every single day with a rubberband because I have nothing else). Cindy brought me a good mix of higher end pieces and stuff on sale. The best finds were leggings for $ 16-$ 19(just as cheap as Old Navy but way more comfortable!), a cute«Mom to be in 2015» tank top for $ 9.99, and a stripe dress for $ 16.99. They also have a few higher end pieces that can transition to long after pregnancy.(Olive open-face cardigan for $ 128, and Rachel Zoe boho chic dress for $ 138). Overall result is I never knew pregnancy clothes could be so comfortable and cute! Great place to shop for both higher end items and for bargains!

I took my daughter from Portland here to get a dress and we had a great time. The sales person, Cindy, was super friendly, courteous, and helpful. We found a perfect dress and some other great tops and pants. Cindy even sent my daughter a nice follow-up note. This store carries a mix of brands and is well lit and laid out.

First place I go looking for maternity clothes and body products! Destination Maternity is really two stores in one. The front half is A Pea in the Pod(aka Nordstrom) — designer clothes at designer prices. The back half is Motherhood Maternity(aka Macy’s) — mostly MM and Jessica Simpson labels at a more budget-friendly price point. The middle of the store is where bras, body lotions/oils/sprays, pregnancy pillows and other stuff is sold. The dressing rooms are a decent size, and have 7 and 9 month«bumps» you can strap on to see how clothing will look as you get bigger. I shop the sale rack in the front and everything in the back. While I love Pea in the Pod clothing, spending $ 178 on designer maternity jeans that I’ll only wear for 4 – 5 months seems silly. The staff are super nice. I’ve only worked with Cheyenne(sp?) and Cindy, but they are both great. Cheyenne remembered my name from day one and will always ask me how I am and how she can help. Nordstrom-like service in a store like this is appreciated. Bonus: they always have bottled juice and water for free. Sometimes they even will have mini-Luna bars to snack on. Oh, and there is a large restroom in the store for customers. They know what us pregnant women need! :)
