Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. I think it may have been pasta sauce on my enchiladas. The cheese inside was cold and still in shreds(not melted). Taste was horrible!

UPDATED12/12/2014 Dos Amigos seems to have merged with the burger place next door. The immediately noticeable effect is the price jumps: I loved that they had a $ 5 veggie burrito but now it is $ 8! That is a huge price hike with not a significant quality difference. The $ 8 burrito has more veggies than the $ 5 version did and it now comes with a ramekin of sub-par salsa, those were the only notable differences. The veggies are raw, which is fine by me but I do not think they can rightly call it «fajita veggies». The salsa tasted like a poor marinara. I might try this place again but am not in a hurry. I do like that every time I have gone, the result has been slightly different; they have a homemade, non-homogenized mom & pop feel.

This is a review of a solo carry-out lunch from Dos Amigos — Belltown, Seattle. First, Dos Amigos seems to share space/staff with at least one, if not two other restaurants(Belltown Burger and a Deli). The staff was very friendly. This was especially true for the young woman that took my order. She was also very helpful. My food was also prepared very quickly. There really weren’t too many other customers. I am not sure how quick it is when busy. The space is clean, basic, and functional. It does have a nice open and airy feel. The food was mediocre. Carne Asada Burrito Combo — This was very average food. The combo comes with the burrito, rice and beans. The burrito was very salty. There was little other flavour. As served, the sauce and the guacamole were both very bland. The tortilla hadn’t really been warmed. There really wasn’t a whole lot of meat in the burrito. As burritos go, it was also relatively small. The faux re-fried beans and the rice basically lacked any flavour. I say faux re-fried beans because they sort of look like re-fried beans but they seem to also have some black beans in them and there is no flavour left from a re-frying process. The food was neatly served for carry-out in a large clam-shell container. Cost: The Carne Asada Burrito combo was $ 7.50 plus tax. Overall — The staff was very friendly and the place was clean and well maintained. This earned them one of the stars. The food from Dos Amigos reminded me of something I would get a corporate café. It was very run of the mill and there were more negatives than positives. I can’t really see trying them again.

Although the service was great and the staff were friendly I definitely wont be eating here again. There rice was crunchy and way plain. They give u maybe 6 chips with ur meal. I only ordered the beans and rice burrito but it had little to no flavor. and no cheese! The beans look like something straight out of a bad diaper. no bueno. =/great service but the food was a bust. All the tables were dirty also.

Food was a little too salty for me, but the staff was nice and my friends enjoyed it. Good variety on the menu. This restaurant is connected to a burger joint so you have your choice. Food came fast and it is a good place to check out on your lunch break.

presentation was excellent. however… barf. the beef taco had mystery bits in it and almost looked like it contained cuts of tongue(I understand some places offer tongue, but usually specified separately); the chicken taco had like 3oz of «juice» run out the back and down my sleeve & the beans were«off». NEVERAGAIN!

Saw some reviews on here, so I’d thought I would check it out. The staff was pretty nice and the prices are reasonable. I ordered the veggie burrito and it wasn’t bad. Overall, the rice was pretty bland and I used their house salsa on my food. I would be willing to give it another shot because they have a pretty good sized menu, but I wasn’t totally wowed by them.

Great service, quick food and friendly people. My hotel was located on 5th ave, and this place came up on my google maps, so I stopped in. I ordered the chicken sandwich, not much of a Mexican meal, so I cannot comment on the authenticity/authentic taste of the food. If I am ever in Seattle, I will check it out. Be careful, Dos Amigos is co-located with another restaurant, a pasta place, that closes early.

I have a special place in my heart for this restaurant. Mostly because of the service. I’ve been in here a handful of times over the course of the year and each time, the people are friendly and happy to accomodate whatever it is that I want. I usually get the vegetarian burrito which doesn’t come with peppers and onions, but I always ask for them and the happy, adorable cook gladly fries them up for me. I even went in one day at 6pm when there was no one in the restaurant and they were obviously doing prep work, but rather than give the ugh-a-customer-is-here reaction that I would expect, it was smiles all around and pure patience as I considered my order. If the manager of this place is reading this review, your guys deserve a bonus. This place is mostly a weekday lunch place that is cafeteria style. You go up to the counter, order, then pay at a central station. I say central because Dos Amigos is actually in the same space as Bebas Deli and some Indian food place that I can’t remember the name of, and they all share a cash register. I haven’t had Beba’s but I did try the Indian food once and it was tasty and a generous portion. There’s a good amount of seating for the lunch time crowd, so you can eat there if you like. This is not mind-blowing gourmet food, so if you’re picky about authenticity you may want to go to a place the has cloth napkins. In fact, if you’re really picky but want some cheap lunch, just stand there at the counter as they prepare your food. It’s an open kitchen so I just wait and point to the stuff I do and don’t want. I’ve communicated my order to a guy who barely spoke English and it came out great, so if don’t expect them to read minds, you’ll probably end up happy. They have a salsa bar with a few different kinds of salsa. Nothing particularly spicy, but hey have Tabasco on hand if you want to heat it up. The burritos are a good standard size, so don’t think cheap will translate to small. If you want to eat here on weekends or in the evening, call first. Places in downtown and Belltown that rely on the lunch crowds are notorious for closing early if business is dead. It’s frustrating, so this can save you the irritation.

Stopped in here today at lunch and it was not bad at all. When i first walked in here i was a bit confused becasue it’s like 3 or maybe 4 diffrent types menus posted on the wall all servinvg a wide range of diffrent foods. The hours are also a bit inconsentent so it can be difficult to tell when they really are open. Anyway i orderd a beef chimichana and my husband orderd fijitas at the end of it all we were satisfied so i guess it’s all good. The food is not steller but it’s easy to walk to and the staff is friendly.

No thank you! Poor quality and their hours never seem to be accurate on the door. Sometimes they are open Saturdays. sometimes not. I don’t get it. I finally tried a chicken quesadilla, grabbed it to go. I don’t live too far away and would have thought it would have been able to hold up. The menu doesn’t say they add tomatoes and onions to their chicken and cheese quesadilla. Was an unfortunate surprise. I asked for a side of nacho cheese and I got shredded. It was soggy and gross. No thank you.

I don’t like writing bad reviews but this place stinks! Not literally but the food is not good at all. The ingredients are not quality. I’ve tried all vegetarian options and was not impressed. I guess that’s what happens when the same establishment serves Mexican, Indian, burgers and deli sandwiches.

Reminded me of Baja Fresh. Not salty or spicy. Light and fresh.

Perfect place for a cheap & easy tex-mex meal. The food is 3 stars, however the convenience(walking distance for me) & price(under $ 15 for dinner for two) & $ 2 beers during the week from 3 – 8 pm & the lack of other mexican food options in the immediate area bumps Dos Amigos up to 4 stars. The menu is typical tex-mex: burritos, tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, & quesadillas. I’ve had: — Veggie tostada(under $ 5): Solid. I love taco salads & so this was perfect. The black beans are mushed together so they have the consistency of refried beans & they are pretty good. The pico de gallo is semi-fresh. It came with a giant dollop of sour cream & guacamole. I quite like their style of guacamole — equal amounts of tomato & avocado so though I know they are doing it to cut costs on avocados, I like it. — Quesadilla: You can get a quesadilla ranchero-style(wet) which is awesome and I haven’t seen before. A solid dish. — Chips: Kind of lame chips. They are a little too thin & a little old. — Salsa Bar: Pretty good considering how cheap the food is. The green tomatillo salsa was the best to me — strong flavors & a medium kick.

WHY must they mix black and pinto beans? I just don’t approve of the mixed refried beans here. They are incredibly bland. I also don’t like the cheese they put on the beans. It didn’t taste like the usual queso blanco that most Mexican places use — it tasted like they just grabbed parmesan from the pasta place attached and threw it on top. I also don’t approve of the tortilla chips here. Why must they insist on ruining them with paprika? I don’t ever want sweet tortilla chips. Other than those two complaints, the food here is mediocre at best. The salsa bar isn’t spicy or special. It was cheap though for being in Belltown, and there’s also a stamp card where you get a stamp for every $ 4.50 you spend and it works at any of the restaurants in there. I ended up throwing away my card though because I don’t think I’ll be coming back any time soon. Blech.

Good food that fell short of greatness. Nice enviornment, helpful staff, but the burrito I had just wasn’t all that interesting. I have ate great burritos and this one, while quite tasty, this one was lacking… and no i didnt order just a ean burrito, but one of the specialty burritos. While the food was decently priced, the combo(side of beans and rice) were not worth the extra 2+ dollars. Despite the minor let-down, the two dollar happy hour(3 – 8) beer on tap did have me leaving happy and relaxed.

A good Mexican lunch joint. Not bad. Nothing unexpected — adequate and affordable burritos. It seems better than the Azteca-type restaurants. You order at the register and get your food on a tray.

Just had time to sneak over here whilst the wife was gone and spend a few bucks on a beer and food. Given that I was being sneaky I really didn’t have much to spend. I went during their happy hour which is from 3pm to 8pm(a good chunk of the day.) I spent just over $ 5.00 and got one of their mini cheese quesadilla and a Blue Moon. I was pretty impressed with the quesadilla actually. For being a cheap, happy hour, mini quesadilla it was pretty big. On top of that it was good. It was just cheese and a simple tomato salsa but the salsa tasted fresh and homemade and the tortila was perfectly grilled. For a quick sneak job this place almost got five stars. The one main drawback was the confusion as of where to order. There is no clear signage to explain it and the cooks were busy so they didn’t explain. I also noticed that for there only being two people in line in front of me it took a while for me to get to order. They make everything order by order so had there been more people I’m sure it would get bogged down. Avoid the crowd, sneak out, enjoy.

This place is way better than the worst burrito joint I have every been too, while still not meeting my demands for the ultimate burrito joint. Good price for their regular veg burrito. Solid. Not great, but I eat here more often than not when in the area for lunch. 4 or 5 different salsa plus 3 sauces at the table which is nice.
